The food is descent (think of a cornacopia menu like TGIF or Applebees...) but this is really more about the kids and a unique place for them to play while you enjoy a night out with adults. It has an arcade inside, an outdoor western themed play town (complete with covered wagon slides), a newly constructed large climbing structure. It is all enclosed and overall a great value when you add in all the diversions for the kids.

You arrive in a huge soulless hotel lobby, descend in an elevator to the basement meeting room level, enter a dark nondescript room. You get greeted by an oh so sugary sweet, and phoney waiter. You know immediately this is not the real Santiago!
You get a ridiculous, gimmicky tablet to order with, then after playing with the mini computer, the bored waiter takes your order transfers it to his tablet. This takes forever, by which time the novelty wears very thin. (Note to waiter. Just get a pen and take my order.)
Food..I had mushroom soup. Made with a variety of fresh mushrooms in a beautifully seasoned broth. Excellent.
For mains, I had rack-of-lamb. Again, excellent. My wife had steak. It was well prepared.
During the meal, the waiter returned and interrupted way too many times to inquire about the food and my well-being.
This felt way too North American, not the typical Chilean way. Normally, in Santiago’s best restaurants, the chef is confident enough in his creation, and there is no need for constant updates about my opinions regarding the soup.
All in all this restaurant was underwhelming and pedestrian. Definitely not outstanding, nor the best of 4900 places to eat in Santiago. This restaurant could have been anywhere, in any North American city, and not even be noticed!

By far, Fogon is one of the best restaurants we have found in the Santiago area where the kids can go play and the adults can be adults. You can honestly have a conversation with another human without looking over their shoulder, half listening, half scanning the horizon for your sons and daughters... and not feel like you are an irresponsible parent.
Fogon has gorgeous grounds, both indoor and outdoor Seating. A large play area, including tree house, slides, sand box, inflatable... and a full staff who are there just to watch after your kids! The wait staff is very pleasant and attentive... and the food off the grill is excellent.
If you ever thought it impossible to go someplace where kids and adults can co-exist at meal time without truly ruining the fun of the other... and color that with a high end asado... then Fogon is your place. It's about a 30 - 35 min. drive from Santiago to Chicureo and well worth it!

Mercatelli is supposed to be a very good restaurant in Chicureo area. Chicureo is a place with some restaurants, not too much to offer.
So, should not be difficult to have a more than decent place compared to the rest of the offering.
Mercatelli is not the case.
Ok, food is fine. Service is average for Chile (compared to other countries is in the low side). Place is nice.
The problem is Management. I went 7 times. 3 times we couldn't have dinner.
The have pizzas to go. But don't go looking for Pizzas. Cause their furnace is not working, or is too late and furnace is off, or whatever... But I could only once have a pizza to go. I don't believe in problems that occur so often. I tend to think that the flow of customers is low, so they will close early... Period... Signs show that they will open until 10 pm? But they will be flexible, 9:30 in a slow night will be time to close! No matter that another customer pass.
It seems they don't care loosing customers. Even with their competitor off because the other restaurant burnt off and is out of business.
In another occasion, we got there at 15 to 10 pm. We asked if it was opened, they say Yes. But oven was off, and colds were putted away, this said once we were seated. So, no starters, no meats, no pizza. Just pasta. And the manager explaining that it was a trendy day. Trendy days are followed by slow nights, so the let the associates go and close earlier. Tip: instead of a schedule, put a sign saying closing and opening times based on esoteric components.
I'll never step in this place again.
I'll rather drive 12 miles and get to vitacura or other places than wasting time looking for a miracle in Mercatelli.
There are other places in Chicureo. Go there. Let Mercatelli aside. Nothing special, and it seems they don't care.

Definitely the best place for Japanese food with a local twist. Chef Marcos works with a focused style worth to watch. Each option was perfect. Absolutely friendly and ultra professional staff helps your get the best from the menu. It's advisable to make Reservations in advance.

Lovely, lively bar, the menu is pizza or salad, and I went pizza. I have travelled a lot and this pizza is the best I have had: awesome.

Realmente buenos , los sándwiches y hay Frica !! ...no hamburguesa sino la verdadera frica , comida alemana y siempre una mayonesa deliciosa Muy bien atendido ...un imperdible para mí en Chicureo .
Esperando se instalen en otras comunas De Santiago ya que la calidad de los ingredientes es óptima .
