Chevy Chase is the name of both a town and an unincorporated census-designated place (Chevy Chase (CDP), Maryland) that straddle the northwest border of Washington, D.C. and Montgomery County, Maryland. Several settlements in the same area of Montgomery County and one neighborhood of Washington, D.C. include "Chevy Chase" in their names. These villages, the town, and the CDP share a common history and together form a larger community colloquially referred to as "Chevy Chase".

We are a Chef owned seafood focused restaurant in beautiful downtown Bethesda. We feature a daily changing menu and use as many locally sourced products as we can. We maintain a friendly and comfortable dining space that allows our guests to relax and recharge. We approach our restaurant with an appreciation for simplicity, authenticity and connection to our community. We deliver daily with high quality food, spirits and people. Our menus include fresh seasonal seafood at their core. We deliver food that nurtures, delights and reminds people that life is short and to enjoy a great meal more often. Our restaurant delivers a comfortable upscale environment that promotes conversation and connection
Objectively speaking, there was actually nothing wrong with our meal or our experience at Chef Tony's this evening. All of our food was alright--not terrific or anything special, mind you, just alright. Our meals consisted of a Caesar salad (served warm and grilled, which meant an interesting flavor and a soggy, mushy consistency), cream of crab soup (nice and rich, good crab taste, with too much Old Bay added to it), crab cake entrée (high quality crab meat, LOTS of spice, zero filler, and very little sauce), and stuffed cod entrée (tasty enough but generally unmemorable).
Like the food, service was also alright. Our waiter either had too many tables to attend to or else he was inefficient at doing his job, or both. He barely came by to check on us, but did his job competently enough.
The atmosphere in this restaurant is pretty minimalistic. Like everything else about Chef Tony's, it was simply nothing special. The noise level was surprisingly high for a place that was not crowded despite having very few open tables available. On that topic, by the way, although the restaurant does not require reservations, it is small and, on a weekend night or special occasion evening, they would be STRONGLY recommended.
Would I eat here again? Maybe. For a comparable price and better food, you might want to consider Daily Grill just a few blocks away, or Positano's (one block away) or Uncle Julio's Rio Grande (a few more blocks away than those). Bethesda has lots of good and great restaurants from which to choose. Why people would select Chef Tony's above other places is rather a mystery to me based on our dining experience this evening.

We had a wonderful holiday dinner for four and perfect service. From the jumbo crab cocktail, tuna, veal chop, huge delicious lamb chops and lobster, what a night! Excellent wine selections and just the place to go for any occasion. We used the valet parking and we already are planing to return for New Years! Our waiter Diwa from the Philippines was outstanding, so helpful, knowledgeable and made the night great! Thank you!

We came mid-afternoon, so I'm sure we missed out on a lot of great patisseries. That said, what we tried was delicious, and their market had several french treats imported. My only complaint, and it's a small one, is that the woman we first spoke with told us that everyone there speaks french, but when I tried to speak with them in french (je suis presque courant) they wouldn't bite, and kept going in English. Otherwise, no complaints!

Raku used to cater my parties, and they always did a great job. I visited the restaurant for an early dinner now, ordered sushi, and confirmed that they are still great! The service was super friendly and fast, the sushi great, and the price reasonable. The atmosphere in the restaurant is pleasant, despite the bar, the noise level is ok.

As a professional chef trained in classical French technique I always like to visit restaurants that offer bourgeois French cuisine when I am traveling. I had the good fortune to have lunch with two people at this very lovely restaurant. The exterior gives the impression of an inn in southern France - charming. The interior is warm, inviting, well appointed with a large fireplace that is the centerpiece of the main dining area. I ordered the mussels and the steak tartare which were both extremely well prepared. One of my companions ordered the cream of mushroom soup and a seafood risotto. He indicated that they were both very flavorful yet subtle. My other companion ordered the house made pate de campagne and then the grilled trout. I tasted both and they were perfectly prepared. The service was prompt, elegant and professional. I would definitely return if I am back in the area.

When looking for a good restaurant to dine with our grandson (a student at University of Maryland), we found the Woodmont Grill. Being long time fans of Houston's, we visited the Woodmont Grill numerous times. Food and service were excellent.

Parkway is a long time favorite in the Rock Creek Shopping Center. But to my mind it's overrated because there aren't any really good delis in the area. The service is barely OK, and sometimes it can be impossible to get the attention of the wait staff. The food certainly doesn't come up to the standard of places in NY like Stage Deli. Take out orders have to be rigorously checked to make sure they got it right. Not my favorite place!

Wonderful dining experience with the Vegan Kappa tasting on a Tuesday night. Unique, delicious, and so interesting. The chef guides you through each course, and every course has its own flavors, expertly combined. Intimate setting at the sushi bar, so you see the chef in action. It’s well worth the 130 per person (which includes gratuity, bottled water, and a gift to take home).

Found myself at the bar 5 minutes before happy hour ends, with a dinner rez 30 minutes later. Beaujolais villages? Of course. Escargot? Yes! Bread? Why not.
Having just passed a pizza joint celebrating cauliflower pizza crust, it was a welcome if surprisingly generous gesture to receive a warm mini baguette to absorb the gorgeous garlic parsley butter sauce. Vive la France.
Everything after that at dinner was also lovely, for a fond farewell to friends departing DC. Thanks James for keeping such a good eye on our table. If we could get the potatos and the mussel broth homedelivered with those fresh baked baguettes? Heaven!

Enjoy Chef Geoff's genuine hospitality and casual cuisine with an Italian flair. Lia’s is a neighborhood restaurant in the heart of Chevy Chase. Come for a glass of wine, hand tossed pizzas, fresh pasta, or charcuterie and cheese, and the result will be the same. You'll be back for more. Join us on Sundays for brunch and every Monday for half price wines. Enjoy our ever-popular happy hour daily from 3pm to 7pm and all night on Monday and Tuesday. An eighty seat patio provides some of the best outdoor dining in the area. We truly have something for everyone and look forward to welcoming you. Cheers! Chef Geoff
This restaurant is dependably fun with delicious food. The menu changes frequently, and always offers plenty of choices. Among recent apps, we enjoyed the 3 piece bruschetta, particularly the kale pesto with burrata, and the excellent calamari. The crab dumplings are only so so. All the pastas are good with bountiful portions. The sausage penne is well prepared, and the sweet potato gnocchi with bacon (hold the sprouts!) is surprisingly tasty. The pizzas are excellent, the mushroom and "straight up" our 2 favorites. Oh, and did I mention Lia's Manhattan, the gold standard for this cocktail with Bulleit bourbon and amerena cherry. Party on!
