If you don't mind your food coming from a can, this place is just your style. Service is as poor as the food. How do they draw crowds? I don't get it. Maybe it's the live entertainment but it certainly isn't the food.

Fabulous sushi! The restaurant is in a strip mall but don't be fooled by the location. The food is very authentic, beautifully presented and delicious. The service was great! Definitely worth the trip to eat here. Wear a sweater as it was cool inside the restaurant.

We've had a repeat errand in North East so we are working our way through all the restaurants in town. Today--St. Patrick's Day!--we pulled over at the Port House Grill which thankfully has a small dedicated parking lot. Parking is a nuisance in North East and we were a little concerned that things might be busy because it was a Saturday AND a festive occasion.
Things were indeed busy on the street, but drivers have pretty good manners. Despite the back up from the nearest light, a nice Benz let us go ahead and get out afterwards.
Anyway. The menu is simple: a few soups; a few fishes; crab and crabcakes; burgers. There is an excellent array of bottled craft beers and they supply a lovely frosted mug for the pour. There are wines but I went for unsweetened ice tea in part because I was driving and mostly because I am...again...trying to drop a few lbs.
We both went for the single crab cake platter with two sides. We both had cole slaw (fresh, crunch, very good). My husband had fries were where the best ones we have had in ages outside of the ones we make at home for ourselves. I had the "chef's choice vegetable" which was grilled rounds of yellow squash and zucchini tossed with roasted pepper. Very nice.
The crab cakes--again, outside of the ones my husband makes at home--were some of the best we've had. They were moist and flavorful and all succulent pieces of crab. There was only enough flavoring to get the crab to adhere. They were fried to a golden brown. $17 is not an inexpensive lunch plate but we are talking crab here and it was worth every penny.
We contemplated dessert. We noticed creme brulee on the menu and that's always attractive. They serve homemade ice cream and one of the flavors was caramel. Enticing--but actually, we had had enough. Oh, yeah, and then there is that diet I am supposed to be on.
The process is simple. The place is fairly small; a nearly inaudible bell announces your arrival and whoever is at the counter sends out a cheery welcome. Choose a table. Head up to the counter where you can look at the menu, place your order and pay. Return to your table and relax over your drinks and food is brought to you shortly. No fuss, no frills, great pleasure.

Fox Hollow is a franchised, primarily drive through coffee service. There are currently 3 locations: Elkton, North East (near Cecil College), and just outside Havre de Grace (south on Route 40). There is something to be said about a coffee shop that maintains quality control over its roasting and beans. Do not expect the high brow Starbucks language here, but do expect exceptionally good quality coffee and coffee drinks. Cinde, who is the morning barista at the Havre de Grace location, always opens up before 6am, so you can drive through early. We especially love the North East, MD location near the Cecil College where Ashley and Brandt never fail to deliver outstanding customer service. The beans come from the Seattle area, the epicenter of cool, coffee shops, and the difference shows in the coffee quality. Unlike the typical roast most local coffee shops get from the Baltimore area, these beans and the brew they produce are liquid, black gold. Not the bitter brew you typically find in our area. The peach and white chocolate latte and the salted caramel latte are exquisite. Our teenagers love the blended drinks. You will not find a better chai tea latte between DC and Philly. There is limited in store, sit down room available at all stores with the Havre de Grace location offering the most sit down space. All locations offer a limited food menu as well. Cinde at the Havre de Grace location can whip up a killer everything bagel with ham and egg in the morning. Prices are better than Starbucks, but more than the typical "coffee" you find locally. If you are into the coffee experience, Fox Hollow is worth the travel time and the search. There is something to be said about that well crafted morning cup of coffee.

Place was quiet for an early dinner while traveling on business. Dining room service was good. Bar was busy. Enjoyed their soup, plus salad, and fried oysters. They allowed me to substitute a green vegetable for the fries. Mixed drink was good and discounted for Happy Hour. No problem parking and prices were reasonable. Good view, but this time of year with cold wind no boats passing by.

Several visits over a period of time have made this a must stop when the ice cream craving arrives. Not sure of winter hours.

Yes, if yu are seeking homemade ice cream in the Elkton/Chesapeake City area...just trot on down east on RT# 213 south, and at the intersection of Williams' Rd. and Baker's Restuarant-you will find this little and nice home of homemade ice cream...While you may not find a huge list of ice cream choices, you will find enough to satisfy you taste for real homemade, hand dipped ice cream.....Worth the short drive....Try It!

Attended a friend's birthday party here. It was held in one of the private rooms upstairs. It had beautiful views of the bay. The buffet was very good. It included salad, roasted potatoes, vegetable medley, london broiled, stuffed chicken and salmon. The wait staff were very friendly were prompt with table services. Valet parking attendents were also professional and friendly. After the party we checked out the band playing down in the bar area. Drinks were good.

Hand dipped Ice Cream is excellent and the servers work hard to keep the lines moving. Just don't get caught behind a softball team or local little league when they sow up after a game.
On weekends John has the best brisket and chicken plus pulled pork that you'll find anywhere. I can't resist a Brisket Sandwich with hot sauce and a all chocolate shake to wash it down.
The place doesn't look like you should make an effort to stop but I assure you it will be a worthwhile visit.

Rita's is good everywhere. This one is close to us, and the service and variety of flavor is always good. Parking is good, and there are benches and picnic tables. Located right on Rte. 40.
