The last time I ate at Chatham Café, I ordered a standard meal for this area (a Horse Shoe). What I received only vaguely resembled the treat I expected. Rather than a blended special cheese sauce covering my press meat choice, there was an abundance of melted cheese that resembled Velveeta. The French fries that traditionally top this item were carefully circled around the other ingredients. I know that there is a lot of competition in this area among restaurants to provide the best Horse Shoe. This one didn't even meet the definition of the item I ordered.

Some locals recommended Fat Willy's and we now know why.
Unassuming for the outdoor appearance but a comfortable gem inside.
The Fried Chicken with mashed with gravy and a veg. is fantastic.
Fresh chicken all you can eat on Tuesdays after 4:30P
Great friendly service and really nice local customers.
Very reasonable at $6.99. We certainly plan on returning.

Recently returned for their Sunday Brunch. Generally a lot of variety and a decent price. Arrived 35 minutes after opening and quickly seated, as crowd was sparse. Have to mention though that the sign for the business outside is unreadable, and falling down. Pretty much all the booth seating is cracked and ripped.
Then to the buffet, and about a third of it is empty still! Sunday brunch and no eggs, no pizza, no green beans, and 1/2 the pastas empty.
However what was available at the time was hot and tasty, and eventually the empty spaces on the buffet were filled. But can't everything be ready when you open????

Scoops du jour is a nice little restaurant, with sandwiches, paninis, and soups. The food is just average, but the ice cream is terrific. Lots of varieties and what they can offer.

We visit the fairly regular. They have an outdoor setting that was better before they put in the gambling machines, but it is still a nice place to sit and talk with friends. The food is fairly decent.

Headwest is a Springfield, Illinois Area specialty sandwich shop with a unique combination of sandwiches and their own "unique" bread. These sandwiches are good! Never mind the upcoming descriptors. A kind of a "hippie culture" type place, with 60's & 70's classic rock, blues and jazz decor; Headwest employees are uniformed in very casual, dreadlocks occasionally, type clothing. This adding to the throwback, laid-back and alternative lifestyle habits of yesteryear and today. I've been to Headwest often.

A hard working couple have owned and operated this restaurant for about 20 years or more. They work seven days a week most of time, by themselves. The lunch buffet has some of the usual dishes but they also have several you will not find anywhere else and they are made from scratch, not from a bag. Very small but popular among the locals. Carry out is also awesome with fair prices and large portions.
We have eaten here from the beginning and go once a week at least.
Support local hard working people who serve great food.
For lunch show up a little early or some items are gone and you will have to wait for them to be replenished.

Serving light appetizers and snacks, including small and large cheese trays with garnishments. Nice background music. Nice neighborhood location and parking. Excellent service.

We had a big order which we picked up. The food was ready on time, hot, and got the order right! Everything was very good. Everybody was happy and full!
