The plat de jour was explained in a way that we could understand what we were ordering, the food was great , and the Deserts were amazing, fast helpful service,a lovely relaxing atmosphere, where you did nt feel rushed.Would definately visit again if we were ever in the area.

We found this place by accident but were glad that we did because we had a lovely meal and the staff were really friendly and helpful.
I had the rognons de veau (veal kidneys) in a sauce and they were the best I have probably had anywhere. My wife had the merlan (whiting) which she also enjoyed.
When one of the women who served us told me that she had made the tarte citron (lemon tart) herself, well I just had to try it and it was very good.
The main dining area is upstairs whereas the downstairs seems to be more of a bar area or for sitting up on high stools to eat. We were initially put off by that but the proprietor directed us to the upstairs part.
I would certainly look for the opportunity to return to this restaurant again as we often pass by Chateauroux on our way to and from the southwest of France.

Popped in for a late dinner after a long drive to Chateauroux. Staff were very attentive and pleasant and the food was of excellent quality.

It is in the Michelin guide, also guide du Routard. Fantastic food !!
We looked up Trip Advisor and all the reviews were glowing. Booked; delightful chef took our booking. We had walked around the town and checked out the other restaurants and menus.
Arrived and no one took our coats and there was no space to put them, except on the back of the chair or on ones lap. Had to ask for a drink after about 10 minutes. We both thought the food very disappointing (perhaps we didn't choose well) and the wine pretty undrinkable.
Altogether a no-no. Chateauroux is a good stop over for us on the way to our house so will try one of the other restaurants next time!

Restaurant since 1972. Traditional cuisine in a warm atmosphere. Good music
I ate outside and, as I decided to forego an entree, I did not see the buffet offered. I chose one of the day's recommended main courses - 3 sizeable lanb chops served with green salad. They were well cooked and I noticed that a bit later they had to be taken from the blackboard. For dessert I chose Ile Flotante, which is always a good touchstone and in this case it was not brlliant -served in a sundae glass with lumps of merangue on top but with the caramel sauce that had descended below the sauce anglais. The service was a bit disorganised, for example I was served with a glass of white rather than rose wine.

It's been in business about 3 years
First time I have eaten at this restaurant as a recommendation from colleagues. I was not disappointed. Beautifully prepared food in a very chic restaurant. The staff were very friendly, especially the proprietress. Very knowledgeable and fully fluent in English. Next time I go to Chateauroux I will visit again.

Bon restaurant, bon acceuil, bonne cuisine
We visit Le Bombay regularly and are always impressed by the cheerful, friendly and helpful service. The waiter always greets clients with a cheerful smile and a Bonjour.
Service is always quick and you can ask for the dishes to be spicier if that is what you prefer.
The Vegetable Samosas and Pakoras are delicious and the little tray of sauces very intruiging. A lovely mint raita, an amazing homemade lime pickle and the yummiest banana and tamarind chutney....
Go on give it a go you will not be disappointed.

We entered the packed restaurant a Wednesday night. Service nice and friendly- they quickly exchanged everything and got us new San pelligrino when we spilled out water and answered questions in good English. The food however, was more about quantity than quality. My husband made the wiser choice, going simple, and had an ok pizza, although ruccola on top was not rinsed and still sandy. My seafood pasta was simmering in oil, and had small dry chewy pieces of what reassembled seafood deeply embedded. The plates where large though so no one will leave hungry. And the children menu, with pasta, drink and ice cream for 7 euros, is good. All in all, come here if really hungry, but keep it simple and stay away from the sea.

Ate here quite a few times on my recent visit to Chateauroux, found this a great place to hang out. Lots of Ty's to watch the football on but the best part of the visit for sure was the rib dinners they're great
But booking might be advised for mid to large groups as it can be popular and the restaurant area is not too big.
Happy hour too I think that was prior to 7pm
Ribs you'll love them fish and chips maybe not , as I'm not sure what type of fish this is certainly not a typical British fish and chip dinner type

The NPA was busy during my visit, perhaps because it was one of the few restaurants open on Sunday evening in the old town centre. There is a substantial, although not exclusie, Spanish influence on the food. I started with quite a good seafood slad and followed that with a substantial helping of moules, which included generous quantities of herbs and chopped shallots. Friendly though very busy service. On evenin when there is no full restaurant service, it acts as a tapas bar and late night music bar.
