Known by the German name "Budweis" in the 19th century, the south Bohemian city of Ceske Budejovice has been a center of brewing since the 13th century. The original inspiration for the American version, Budwar or Budweiser beer remains one of the most popular in the country. The vast, beautiful Námesti Otakar II square is the site of stately Renaissance, Gothic and Baroque buildings, including the beautiful 1727 town hall. Buses and trolleys link areas, and cycling paths run through the city.

Klika kitchen is 2nd generation of family restaurant with local seasonal menu based mostly on the typical czech cuisine. Daily lunch menu. Premium coffee roasters. Outdoor Seating with the river view and sunset. Non smoking restaurant. Seasonal dining. Good and friendly atmosphere.
Very nice lunch today, tagliatelle with cream sauce and shimps, a couple of glasses of great (house) white wine. Very friendly and fast service. Total of 8,50 euro. What are you complaining about?

We visited this restaurant on New year's Eve to fill our bellys before celebration and we were positively surprised because outside and entry hall says "below average" restaurant. Don't let this appearance discourage you. Chicken vindaloo was one of the finest I've ever eaten.

I dined here with colleagues when visiting the town on business. We all ate different meals and enjoyed them very much. The restaurant is very popular and busy which makes for a good lively atmosphere. The staff were friendly and offered good attentive service. I would recommend the restaurant to anyone wanting to get a taste of authentic local food.

Chose this restaurant based on the Trip Advisor reviews. Unfortunately, got a bit disappointed. The prices were quite high, yet the food - nothing special. I had myself a pork chop with potatoes and cheese. Arrived in a clay pot, however it was extremely salty and full of sauce, the meat was quite chewy Most of my friends had some pasta dishes - not very big portions. Overall - you can eat better and cheaper within this town. Service was good. The restaurants has got a small courtyard, which is nice during the summer.

Velmi kvalitní suroviny a celkový servis v této restauraci. Byl jsem zde již několikrát a musím kladně ohodnotit tatarský biftek a vepřovou panenku. Víno i pivo mají skvělé.
high quality raw materials and total service in this restaurant. I have been here a couple of times and I have a positive evaluation of Tatar steak and pork doll. Wine and beer are great.

It's a long time since I've experienced a rude waiter but that's the only way to describe one of the male staff serving tables outside this otherwise lovely city centre restaurant / hotel. The drinks were fine and reasonable value. Shame my lasting memory will be of one staff member.

Just visited the original location in C. Budejovice a 2nd time....enjoyed at this time as well. While, not exactly healthy (fries thrown on top with the dog and bun) it is comfort food at its best.
Great news as a new location in Pisek as opened. Thankfully the owner prefers to do business in smaller areas rather than Prague...so, people in Pisek you are lucky! I will visit Pisek location ASAP. Good luck with your new venture!

We went down an alley to the interior of some buildings close to the main square and noticed many locals stopping for lunch. This encouraged us to stop for dinner. My partner and I both had different pork tenderloin dishes. They were very tasty and prepared to perfection. Drinks were inexpensive and the staff tried to be helpful in avoiding the smoking areas. As with most Czech restaurants there is a lot of smoking. Fortunately, this restaurant was better than most. We recommend this one if staying on or close to the square.

We stopped by here for lunch after spending some time in the village viewing the UNESCO status houses. There is a nice outside Terrace with tables overlooking the street and also indoor dinin.
A smallish menu but with plenty of variation; we had the Beef Goulash with dumplings which was very tasty and a more than adequate portion size for lunch. The coffee was excellent. And all for very reasonable prices.
The friendly staff speak English, and the menu is in Czech, English and German.
