Quiet coffee shop in the middle of a big casino town. Only non-casino place to eat in Black Hawk. Free wi-fi. Breakfast, lunch, espresso. Coffee roaster and tea shop.
My wife and I visited for breakfast on May23rd. It is easy to find and for a change in Black Hawk, easy parking. It was not too busy when we arrived, but it picked up nicely during our visit. The employees were very friendly and helpful. My wife and I both ordered the Big Ol' Breakfast Burrito, 16oz, with Sausage. They told us the burritos were made off site, and prepared there in the restaurant. The burrito was huge, and was very yummy. More than what I could eat. The price was very fair. If I were to do it again, I would skip the spicy topping so I could enjoy the flavor of the burrito a little bit more. Also, the coffee was good, as was the smoothie we got to go. I would certainly return.

Before lunching at Millies, we visited the Gold Coin Saloon; which is the primary reason we even entered the casino. We love 1800s architecture, and the saloon is a beautifully preserved historic structure; with original woodwork, cabinetry, backbar, etc. It also has an interesting history; which the bartender was accommodating enough to provide.
We then went on to view Millies; and upon seeing its decor, we decided to have lunch there. This ended up being a fortunate choice.
Though few of the materials used are actually vintage; the facility strives for a 1800s ambiance.
Our server, KC, (though a bit harried), was friendly, accommodating and attentive.
The food was an unexpected pleasure.
The fried chicken had a tasty crispy crust, and juicy meat within; and, the prime rib was also well prepared and very flavorful. The accompanying asparagus and baked potatoes were quite nice; and both entrees were amply portioned. (There was plenty left for a later snack).
We also enjoyed the raspberry ice-tea.
Best of all, both entrees were very reasonably priced.
If one is looking for a great meal, at an affordable price; this place is a solid option

First time in Colorado but we went with someone that used to live here and he said the prices were pretty standard. The food was amazing! The portions are pretty big... I couldn't even finish my sandwich. Everything tasted fresh and the staff was supper friendly. A little long for the food to come out but we were 6 1/2 and starving for it probably seemed like forever because of that but everything tasted great! Very good place. The parking garage in the building can get confusing to get out since the exit signals are nonexistent lol and if you come with a child everyone stares cause you can't have kids in the casino floor but everyone in Colorado is super nice and friendly!

I was shocked that this place isn't in Trip Advisor yet. It truly is a diamond in the rough!
From the greens, to the bbq to the boiled peanuts...everything was well prepared and seasoned just like the food I was raised on. The brisket was tender, juicy and had a great smoky flavor. We love to try local bbq restaurants when we travel and this one ranks among our favorites. The restaurant was very crowded at lunch, but they moved people in and out quickly and we were served within fifteen minutes of our arrival - and had free boiled peanuts to snack on while we waited. We didn't try the prime rib that was on the menu, but the people at the next table were ranting over how good it was. It looked delicious and if we are ever in the area again we will make sure to give it a try.

The Frothy Cup is an independent coffee roaster of premium, estate grown specialty coffee. We offer single origin and blended Fair Trade Organic and Rainforest Alliance coffee as well as home made fresh baked bakery goods, breakfast burritos and healthy smoothies. Located in the historic Zeller building built in 1885, the location at 1510 Miner Street in downtown Idaho Springs has been a coffee roasting business for over 25 years. In December 2014 Glenda and Randy Watson purchased the business and renamed it The Frothy Cup. We offer our guests a warm and comfortable, home-like environment where anyone can enjoy what we believe is the best coffee and espresso they have ever had, as well as baked goods and smoothies made with mostly organic and non-GMO ingredients.

Nothing from a box, can or microwave. No processed foods or ingredients. Local, grass fed, natural meats. Gourmet burgers, Organic Chicken, Cheese Curds, and Kombucha on tap.
We stopped here on a Saturday afternoon around 4, so it was in between lunch and dinner crowds. I had The Elvis sandwich and fries; my husband had a burger and fries. We were both really happy with our choices. Owners were friendly and we enjoyed watching their drone videos of Central City and Black Hawk. Would recommend this place if you want a burger or The Elvis! (Their menu is small, so don't expect a ton of choices, but the food is good!)

During a three day stay in Idaho Springs, I ate here twice for breakfast. Homemade bread, good coffee, and a nice atmosphere. Wait staff was super friendly, and the food was absolutely scrumptious. I had an omelette one day and the juevos rancheros another. Both were spot on. Stop here on your way up the mountains.

The one thing that distinguishes one Starbucks from another is the people that work there. If you get a grumpy server it can spoil your mood. The people at this Starbucks were very friendly. On top of that they got my orders right and I...MoreGood morning - thank you so much for taking the time to review your experience with us! We love hearing that you were met with our friendly team and great service. Hope to see you again soon!

Brewhouse, Pizzeria
We stopped by Dostal Alley to grab a bite to eat before we checked out the casino.
There were no other patrons in the place when we arrived, so We weren't sure what we were getting ourselves into.
We ordered the mozzarella cheese sticks for an appetizer and a large pizza.
The mozzarella sticks were ok, we got the pizza and it was amazing!! The thin crust was crispy and the crust had sauce baked in it! It was very good! Most of the staff was friendly and helpful!
I would definitely recommend this place to pizza lovers!!
