We were not shown to our table, but awkwardly waved in. Strange, we have no clue where we’re supposed to go! I liked the food. My starter was the salt n chilli squid. The menu says, “Asian salad with chilli and mango dressing.” £6. It had one problem; it rapidly went cold. How to keep a starter hot that is placed on a bed of salad is perhaps an insoluble puzzle. My choice of main was the Thai prawn curry. I loved it, very good. The menu says “peppers, onions & pak choi in a fragrant coconut curry sauce served with steamed rice.” £13. Worth it. I had a bowl of hot fruit crumble for dessert, it was great. They scored 4 for hygiene, in their scores-on-the-doors rating. The music? Take That, among others. I like the interior. While it is large, it is on split levels, with pillars breaking up the space, so you can have some privacy. Chandeliers, view of the harbour (for us it was lost in the darkness of the night), clean toilets. We like eating here.

To make a reservation or enquiry please telephone the restaurant, email or call in. Papa Browns is the perfect location for any event whether business, pleasure or celebration.
We had brunch here today - service was very good, food good as well. It filled up fast at lunchtime. Prices are very reasonable and for what you get it's good.

Restaurant at the Mariina, Carrickfergus, County Antrim, Post Code BT38 8BE.
We visited the Windrose for the first time earlier this month. We were a party of 10 and had a brilliant table, over looking the harbour. Really impressed with the refurbishment upstairs, excellent atmosphere. We all ordered with ease, food came quite quickly. Have to say the nachos were so yummy! Very reasonably priced menu and a lot on offer! Staff were all very pleasant and attentive! Only complaint we would have would be one of our party ordered the curry, and they weren’t told until everyone else’s meals arrived at the table that the kitchen had ran out of rice. Asides from that we would defiantly be back again for another meal!

Visited this pub and restaurant for many years and recently regularly with elderly family for Sunday Lunch
Mothering Sunday is probably the busiest
day in the restaurant calendar.
So it was disappointing to see the prices increased by £3.00 per main course for this special day.
With no added value for the occasion
A low point in what is usually a pleasant visit.

Coffee shop and delicatessen
We came in here for to have some brunch. There was a delicious smell of bacon coming out of the kitchen. So not being able to resist that I actually ordered bacon with french toast and an Americano. `Take Thyme `also has a lovely delicatessen as well as shelves stacked with marmalade, jams, honey and all sorts of biscuits. Should you need a gift hamper, they will do one up for you as well. During the summer season there are tables outside for you to sit and eat in the lovely Court Yard. Opening hours are from 10 - 4 every day except for Sunday.

We ate here as a group of 6 on a Saturday night, it didn't take long for us to be seated but it did take about 20 minutes before someone came for drinks orders which is quite a while considering other tables beside were being served.
We got the voodoo bread and the chicken strips as a starter - both were lovely, portions were huge though - would have preferred less! As a main I got the chicken strips in sweet chilli sauce with sweet potato fries and onion rings, my fiancee got the ribs with sweet potato fries and corn on the cob. He absolutely loved the ribs and corn and I thought the chicken was good BUT the sweet potato fries were awful, not cooked properly and some were still raw which is disappointing as sweet potato fries are my favourite.
The server cleared the table and asked if we wanted a dessert menu (which we did) but we then had to wait another 15 mins for the menu to come out. Once ordered though dessert came out quickly apart from the coffee I had ordered, everyone else was finished with their dessert by the time the coffee came so everyone was left waiting for me to finish my coffee. For £150 I would have expected a better service for sure, the service used to be great so I'm not sure what's changed since the last time went here but unfortunately we won't be rushing back this time!
