We got this place recommend by Michael Green, Lagos streetsinger who lives in Pedralva. It are indeed great thin and nice pizza dishes. The nice surfer style staff did a good job.
btw: with most places in July and August all is overbooked. In September for us all was nice.
BTW: figure out online what is special about Pedralva ;-)

From the outside, the restaurant looks like it may be closed or not frequented regularly! We phoned to reserve a table for my wifes birthday and we were really looked after. The steak on the hot stone was an experience but next time we go we'll order it without the stone. The starters and Deserts were really tasty and the wine excellent. Thank you for a memorable evening

This is one of those rare places where the quality of the food is as good as the view to be had from the Terrace. We had delicious soup followed by perfectly cooked steak in an excellent mushroom sauce, whilst watching the sun set over the ocean. Outstanding!

If driving, park at the open air carpark opposite the restaurant. Previous TA reviews warned of the "no reservations" policy, so we turned up just before noon on a Saturday. A steady stream of hungry diners followed, about half of whom appeared to be local or from the area. Our welcome was warm and friendly. Service was efficient and attentive; the staff knowledgeable and willing to recommend dishes. Ambiance was cosy; the tables well spaced.
We ignored the menu but picked seafood from a chiller strategically placed by the entrance to the restaurant. We were told how each dish would be prepared. The fresh oysters were terrific! The clams, mussels, limpets and razor clams cooked to perfection. On offer was fried Moray Eel, sun dried for 4 days... Alas we were too full to have done any justice to it. Desserts were fantastic too. A complimentary liqueur concluded our sensational experience. We did not feel rushed and had a great time!!

We stumbled across this place today. The decor was quirky and charming. I have just read some of the previous reviews and can not believe it is the same place. There was a mixture of nationalities us Brits , Canadians plus Scandinavian and SouthAfrican diners. I ordered the tuna steak which was huge it came with peppers and onions and lovely new potatoes. My husband had the steak and chips which at €12 was a bargain. Wine was less than €3 and very pleasant. I wonder if the owner is new as he was very friendly unlike the guy mentioned in previous reviews. The kitchen was open and I was pleased to see that the chef had her hair covered plus gloves when handling the food. The chairs and tables were all mis matched which added to the charm. I would certainly return . I have previously had two very disappointing lunches and this little place has restored my faith in Portuguese cooking.

We had a good dinner at O Sitio do Rio.
As a starter we had the clams and as a main the white seabream. They were great.
Although the staff told us the fish as a main was good enough for the 2 of us, we think you could also take it for one person.

Bistro-Cocktailbar with a special food menu and a huge drink list. A place to discover; focused on high quality, exigent for great tastes and presentation. Try once and you will come back!
Worse food I have experienced in Portugal. I had the Bombay burger. A miserable slosh of veggie something on a plate full of lettuce with grilled banana and undercooked aubergine. The Bombay part was a scrape of curry sauce on the pitta bread, well hidden by the lettuce. Just wrong in any language.

We really enjoyed having drinks and dinner here. Friendly staff that spoke some English! Relaxed atmosphere with live music on that particular evening. The food was tasty and different items on the menu from what we had seen in Portugal, but still traditional. Free wifi.

We have visited this restaurant many times and every time we leave fully satisfied. The food is excellent especially the slow cooked lamb but you need to order a day in advance. It is a family run restaurant and has a real homely feel...Portugal at its best. We went there with our small Children and the staff were so kind and friendly. A must!

Restaurant with typical Portuguese food located in a rural village that was rebuilt keeping the original traces of the portuguese villages. Come try our codfish on the bread or other tasty dishes from our menu in a cozy and familiar environment of the village Aldeia da Pedralva.
Tried this place on three occasions and was definitely a family favourite. Great outside courtyard-like dining area, really friendly service and wonderful food. Evidently sampled by locals so it's not just for mugs like me. Loved it!
