Very creative and tasty fried dough made daily. Light and not greasy with flavourful fillings and toppings. While expensive for donuts, better value than the new kids on the blocks dishing up pseudo-KFC as well - tastier also. Second best in the area after Phatso's.

We had dinner here on a Tuesday night and good thing we made reservations as they were very busy. We were warmly greeted by the owner/hostess and seated on arrival. We started with the portobello mushrooms with melted cheeses and rose sauce. Unique and very good. Bread was also brought to the table. Butter and Olive oil - but no balsamic vinegar. We also had bruschetta, antipasto, and marinated carrots. My wife had the special - lobster and seafood with cavatelli pasta in a rose sauce and I had the Vitello Mare e Monti, veal medallions with jumbo shrimp, prosciutto with cheese and a mushroom demiglasse. Everything was great, timed well and the service was very good. A real bonus was being able to bring our own wine which they allow and do not charge a corkage fee. This makes for a great meal at a very reasonable total cost. My wife appreciated they left the small bowl of parmigiana-reggiano cheese on the table when the main courses were served. We shared a chocolate lovers cake for dessert that was very good. Overall this was a great dinner in a warm atmosphere at very good prices.

I made two visits to this market one on Saturday and one on Monday.
I have been to many markets here and in Europe but this market has it's very own flavour.
There are many stalls with groceries and meats but I got the impression that this market is all about eating. I had a Philly steak sandwich one day and a Turkey sandwich another day, both were top notch. I also tried the new donut stall which was lined up both times I was there. I am old fashioned so I had a jelly filled donut and it was the best I have ever had.
The one thing I noticed was how clean the market was and there were no bad smells. I saw a person drop paper from their lunch and within a few seconds someone was in cleaning it up. There was staff watching the garbage cans to make sure they did not get filled up and overflow.
The washrooms are clean and well maintained.
There is lots of people watching and even though the crowds were pushing and shoving there was only good humour.
I loved the experience and the food!

I have to smile at the reviews- I get to Reading Terminal about 4 or 5 times a year and have tried Miller's Twists several times
They make very good pretzels in the Pennsylvania Dutch style
However, there are a number of places in Lancaster County- Countryside Road Stand, Immergut, the stand at Weavers store in Fivepointville, or the pretzels sold at almost any mudsale, that are just as good, and of course, less expensive.
They only strand out in comparison to the standard, more doughy less buttery, Philadelphia style pretzel, and in comparison to Auntie Annes- which is a mass produced version of the Pennsylvania Dutch style (Anne Beiler grew up Amish and her company is still headquartered in Lancaster)

Reading terminal market is a micro chasm of Philadelphia. It’s a space full of ethnic delights. You can find any kind of food your looking for and any kind of person your looking for ( really...
Yesterday I met a group of friends at the market. We got a table in the back, some had beer, some soda! We split up to find food. Someone brought back a corned beef sandwich, Turkey, Indian and Mediterranean food! Of course we stopped for dessert at terminis bakery and cookies at 4th street bakery! If you want to learn about philly go to the reading terminal market

Bassett's Ice Cream is in Reading Terminal Market and has just wonderful ice cream. So many flavors, I think more then 40. My grandson loves the birthday cake flavor. My favorites are chocolate chip cookie dough , peanut butter swirl and Rum raisin. My wife enjoys the coffee and cinnamon flavors. We have never been disappointed at Bassett's and consider it to be among the best ice cream places in the country.

...after some disappointing tourist attractions, this place really lifts your spirits, not only because they offer spiked gelato flavours and "cocktail" flavours. All the flavours tested were just excellent. Specially the chocolate malt, the banana foster, the dulce de leche and the Sicilian pistachio were to die for, in every dimension measured.
Portions are generous, with a 4 scoop portion for around 8.50 USD. Also, they offer brioches with gelato and so much more. Would come back again and again if I lived here...

Incredible value, for the most amazing sandwich, the best corn beef sandwich I’ve had including anything I’ve tried in the big apple, really tasty the grilled marble rye bread with cheese piled high with corn beef was just delicious - Also really appreciated the big portion, but not so enormous that it put you off - it was just right (if you’re hungry!)

The Franklin Fountain aims to serve an experience steeped in ideals, drizzled with drollery, and sprinkled with the forgotten flavors of the American past.
Ice cream is rich, creamy and flavorful. Peanut butter ice cream was amazing! Sundaes are big enough for 2 people. They're served in containers found in Chinese take out restaurants. Location resembles an old time ice parlor, and servers are dressed in colonial garments. Location only has one or two tables indoors. About a dozen tables outdoors. Parking is limited. Ice cream is very good, but expensive.

Behind the wrought iron gate, past the herbaceous patio and through the atrium is Talula's Garden, the warm and elegant Washington Square eatery from Aimee Olexy and Starr Restaurants. The modern menu, prepared with carefully-sourced ingredients and a light European touch, changes with the seasons. The artful cuisine, hospitable staff, sustainable spirits, and a focus on cheese make the dining experience here incredibly memorable.
Even though the brunch isn’t a buffet(thank goodness) the selections from which to choose couldn’t have been any better. The pancake entree was difficult to finish and my wife’s omelet obviously had eggs from a huge chicken and the added ingredients were numerous and made to order. Unfortunately the weather took a turn for the worse and eating in the garden area wasn’t available but if you gave a chance to eat there, definitely try to select the garden dining area.
