The Blue Heron serves an excellent breakfast and lunch in large proportions; they are not open for dinner. Food is always fresh and unique. Daily lunches include a choice of 2 homemade soups w/complimentary homemade sourdough bread and a variety of sandwiches on homemade sourdough bread or wraps. Salads are always freshly made and filled with fruit, vegetables, and/or meat with tasty dressings. Two baker's display cases are filled each morning with fresh cookies, fried cakes, muffins, bagels, pies, cakes, and a large variety of sweet rolls, baked on site. Customers congregate there for coffee and a choice of doughnut or cookie. Their breakfasts are hearty and delicious. The owner is the cook, and it is a treat to find such a high quality restaurant in this small tourist town.
Fantastic breakfast. And what a surprise when we said it was our first time. Our server said, "That means you get a free loaf of bread" The restaurant is also and awesome bakery with amazing pastries and donuts along with breads and all kinds of other baked goods. Their menu isn't huge but they have a really great selection of amazing omelets. All their food is locally sourced and they have vegetarian options and Gluten Free items. They are only open for breakfast and lunch. Closed at 3 or 4PM

The make their own chocolate and flavored popcorn. I like the Cadillac mix the best. It is the best in Cadillac. In addition their sin apples are out of this world.

Great coffee and friendly service for when you are on the go. This is a drive through coffee shop. So glad I stopped. They were fast and friendly and even offered me a punch card. They serve ice cream too, but I did not try it this time.

The baked brie appetizer is amazing. It comes with apples on top and is served with crackers. The morel mushroom soup is also amazing. $10 for a cup $16 for a bowl. The house salad was very good. I highly recommend the European entrées.

The coffee itself is average. I've had much better and I've had much worse. It is however very convenient as it is drive through. They do a good job keeping the line moving even during busy times. The staff is pretty friendly.

We ordered the shrimp & crab dip as an appetizer. Slightly disappointed in the lack of shrimp & crab actually in it. Also had a strange texture. Our server was Jessie, she was great. Attentive, but not overbearing. We had the Cherry Almond salad with Shrimp & the Surf & Turf. The salad, as the name states (Cherry Almond) came out with no cherries or almonds. Jessie was quick to remedy the situation. The steak was ordered medium-rare & it was a pretty thick piece, so most of it was rare, but not worth sending back. Overall, pretty good, but the service is what made it great.

This is a typical DQ, no eat in area however. The owners do a fantastic job keeping the building and grounds clean. There is plenty of employees on staff so you don't have to wait long. Menu is varied and offers many choices. Drive through window available. It is high priced however.

I don't know, maybe they do things differently in Cadillac, MI... But in other parts of the world you walk into a restaurant and stand at the entrance until someone comes to seat you, usually with a smile, but not necessarily. We ended up standing at the door for about 10 minutes (we were hungry and we had kids with us) with staff literally walking past us, looking at us and then continuing in their way, until we walked to the bar and asked if someone could seat us... After which we ended up waiting another 7 or 8 minutes... And there were several empty tables.
And after that wait... Mediocre food that hardly stuck in my mind. My vote? Give it a miss!

The After 26 Depot Cafe & Unique Gifts is a non-profit restaurant dedicated to the employment of developmentally disabled and cognitively impaired adults over the age of 26. We serve breakfast & lunch Tuesday through Sunday, and host special events on some Friday and Saturday evenings, including live acoustic entertainment. The food here was good, the decor interesting and clean. The concept behind the restaurant is wonderful and should be supported 100%. Service was top notch and lunch was eaten with a nice view of Lake Mitchell. They are only open until 2 pm so...MoreThanks for stopping, and taking the time to share your experience!

Had dinner here. It's a large place. Very authentic Mexican. I had guacamole and a combo plate. All the food was great and I had nothing leftover to finish later. The salsa is definitely homemade and very good flavor. Service was prompt and friendly. No complaints.
