I could smell the fried chicken the moment I stepped out of my car. The queue snaking around the food station is testament that the chicken is a crowd-puller. Hunger and sight of the well displayed food made me too greedy and I had the following on my plate before I could stop myself: fried chicken, curry fish with lady's fingers, curry squid and vegetables. I asked for kuah campur and boy! was the food delicious. The gravy was so good that I asked for extra serving which came in a small plate. Hubby took a fried fish and chicken cooked on dark sauce which was absolutely devine. A tall glass of ice lemon tea is the perfect choice to cool down our tongues

Our hunt for western food in the afternoon was rewarded sublimely when we followed Tripadvisor suggestion to its #1 foodie here! We were informed its a family do by John n son Sam..
Both the Dorper lamb and Wagyu beef were perfectly done.. even the carbonara was of a class of its own! The Hokkaido scallop was creamy with crunchy asparagus spears.. drool!!
Will come again definitely.. seems that new menus is introduced every quarterly.. looking forward to it❤️

Another Branch :Pen Mutiara RestaurantWisma NelayanPelabuhan LKIM Batu Maung11960 Bayan Lepas, Penang.Malaysia
Were given the impression by other review, its good..so, with high hope, went there last dec 14..
The restaurant, very clean, proper..ample parking, service was good n up to expectation..
Food wise, we ordered fish head curry, the signature dish..medium size red snapper..fish was fresh..buy, curry was bland..light, bit hot/spicy in taste, the usual tangy zing that i used to feel in curry was not there..
Other dishes, the tomyam, omelette eggs, stir fry kangkong..all tasted bland..
This place, good for enternaining customers as it is a proper service, but for food lover, u might not get the food enjoyment..Good, not great..might not come again, might not recommend too..

If you've been to nandos you know the drill.
The menu is basically the same as the UK,
The humus portion was smaller but a pile of bread if was served promptly despite the restaurant being full.
The chicken was cooked to perfection.
The spicy rice is nice. BUT it's different from the UK so I wasn't overly keen. This is how the spicy rice is in Malaysia so not an actual issue.
The peri peri wedges are really delicious. Not oily and crisped to perfection.
There isn't too much peri peri salt. For those that want more the waitress brings a shaker over.
The all you can drink is served. While I prefer it myself as I find wait staff in chains just brink coke which is too sweet. I was wrong the waiter brought drinks without prompting and coke light every time.
Service is automatically added which I don't usually agree with but I'd have topped anyway. The service was friendly and uncomplicated.
My fiancé was a nandos first timer and didn't 'get' it hahaah. But we've all been there.
Would recommend to anyone.

We hunted for this location, having eaten from here some 3 years back.
The big "elephant trunk" clams were then introduced & rightly so (so good).
We are back but no stock of these clams, we had "tom yam seafood" plus fish in Thai style, Lala were superior & many other dishes.
To dine under big attap huts with two Money wheels spinning on flowing water, that alone is unique & rustic kampong style.
But it was the hot food, fresh & good tasting we are there again.

Perhaps one of the best steamboat around penang. They use charcoal instead of gas, and the soup base is quite nice. As in any steamboat restaurant , there is quite a lot of seafood, vegetables, meat and etc to choose from. Price is reasonable but do go early before the crowd start to swell at 7.

From the title, you know I love my coffee. I hate it when it comes runny with foamy milk and you can't taste the coffee. So, here is this random find, nestled between a pharmacy and optical shop (quite a odd place to find a cafe, actually) along this main road, which I think is like Little India of Butterworth. Try the coffee and the hot items there are the paninis. They serve other kinds food that looks nice too.
We liked the ambience of the cafe, a little modern twist with the old floor tiles retained, like back to the 60s.
Don't forget the coffee! Bye Bye Starbucks.

Really basic set up in non air con environment but with unobstructed view of George Town. Cutlery come with a plastic tub of hot water for self sterilization.... the food...wow!!! Belachan chicken wingRm8,just the right amount of crispiness without overly browned, bittergould omelette rm6, nice crunch on the outside and the inside to coin that French term "baveuse"..just bordering cooked and moist. Salted egg prawns unshelled rm 15-20...evenly coated and so delish that I ate the prawns with the shell and all. The slight let down was the Thai steamed fish as they ran out of live sea bass so we had to make do with chilled ones. I can really tell the difference between the two...last Tim I had the live steamed and it was absolutely delicious. Also try not to order a large size one... I think between 500-700g is just perfect. Friendly wait staffs.

Buy something small and pay with your credit card before going any further. They "don't accept American Express" and mysteriously deny a USA MasterCard with a travel alert. After I left I contacted my MasterCard company and, as I suspected (I had a travel alert) no charges were denied.
My friend's fish and chips were reasonably good (no vinegar, strange fish but to be expected. My much more expensive "Australian rib eye steak" was inedible. I think some Australian lost his rib eye shoes. SERIOUSLY. I was very hungry and could not chew the Corinthian Leather imitation rib eye steak. My friend also could not. At least the mashed potatoes were soft, excepting the lumps, but I like lumpy mashed potatoes.
Beer is cold and cheep.
I was assured that "a lot of Filipinos" arrive later. I don't suppose they thought I (male) wanted to beat the snot out of the Filipino guys.
