Really enjoyed our meal both times ... the piri piri prawn starter was totally awesome ... please don't take that off the menu ... we will be back! The pork with pepper sauce was also a favourite.
Really nice buzz in this restaurant. Remember always book!

Casa Padaria has been serving pizza in Burgau now for 15 years, and you will be looked after well. Great pizza with classic or gluten free bases. BBQ ribs, Home made pate. Delisious homemade Deserts
We got take-away pizzas here twice - once when we just arrived in Burgau after a long day (and previous night) in cars, planes and taxis. Perfect with a few beers for me, and a glass of Chardonnay for herself. I had the pepperoni with black olives with a bit of piri-piri oil sprinkled over it. Herself had Parma Ham and Rocket on her's. They gave us a big bag of fresh Rocket leaves to put on the pizza - kept us going for a few days!
Our second visit was not intended - we couldn't get in to the restaurant we wanted - we should have booked, but thought we'd be ok, but it was fully booked. Casa Padaria didn't let us down! We ate in this time, and it was great. The staff were really friendly, and the food is lovely. Prices are really reasonable, and the place is very cosy. Highly recommended!

From the outside, the restaurant looks like it may be closed or not frequented regularly! We phoned to reserve a table for my wifes birthday and we were really looked after. The steak on the hot stone was an experience but next time we go we'll order it without the stone. The starters and Deserts were really tasty and the wine excellent. Thank you for a memorable evening

We could only get a 9 pm booking for the restaurant but showed up early hoping we might get in the. The manager was most gracious and indicated that he would his best and that we should return in 15 minutes which we did . He gave us a prime table . Service was excellent and the food superb. All in all a wonderful evening at a first class restaurant. Try the Seabass with asparagus and mustard sauce, a dynamite dish

This was the best restaurant my family eat at on a recent holiday to Salema. We sat outside under a protected awning that had a great atmosphere. As it can get a little chilly in the evening they do provide blankets to wrap around your shoulders if needed.
Our party of 5 chose a mixed cover to start with which consisted of Sardine pate, Cheeses and Olives and fresh crusty bread. This was lovely and extremely fresh. I chose a Stone Bass for my main from a board that was brought round with the catch of the day on it. It was cooked plainly but was extremely tasty, just how fresh fish should be. The rest of our party had various fish dishes which was also very nice.
The waiters were attentive and friendly with overall service very good.

Like so many Burgau haunts; lovely people, great daily fresh fish.
The beach bar is heaving during UK holidays with people seeking coffees, soft and alcoholic drinks all day.
It's wise to book, certainly at lunchtime and probably in the evening too. The local wines are reasonably priced too.
Quite an interesting walk along the path where the beach meets cliff when the tide is in and waves vigorous.

Always the first place we book when we come to Burgau .... and then there is always a second trip.
The food, service and ambience are absolutely fabulous ... Ancora is one of our favourite restaurants anywhere in the world and probably the one we have most visited over the years.
I hope all the team at Ancora get through to the end of the season and then have the best break to inspire them back ... providing such a terrific service to a relentless stream of demanding tourists is hard hard work. We appreciate it hugely and Ancora remains a very key part of our trips to Portugal. Thank you Team Ancora!

Conveniently located in the middle of the village, with a huge selection of tasty fresh fish & seafood and one of the few places in the village that actually accepts plastic. Not cheap - we paid c€40/head; most had starters, few desserts.
Service charming, smiley & friendly with several English speakers for those of us struggling to learn any Portuguese. Not the comfiest Seating on wooden benches (there were 8 of us - smaller parties got chairs) and being a bit tight for space made it sometimes hard to attract attention for service.
Steaks were good too and the chocolate mousse & melon enjoyed by some of our group received rave reviews.

Staying in Salema Beach Village with family for a couple of weeks. Have been down into the village a few times for dinner and ALWAYS pop in here for a pre-dinner drink.
Mummy always has a glass of Fizz while two daughters always get some non alcoholic cocktail that Carl creates. Me, I like the G&Ts that are available.
Nice relaxed feel to the place. Not a Gin snob, but Fever Tree tonic would be an added bonus!

Good fish restaurant in a great location right behind the beach. Service was slow-ish but we have no problem with that enjoying the scenery and setting. We booked to get a good table. Fish was well cooked.
