Located in the center of downtown Bucksport in the historic Bradley Block building, just a short walk from the town dock. MacLeod's has been a landmark restaurant in the midcoast area for over 30 years specializing in fresh seafood and aged steaks and comfort food. Known for delicious burgers, soups and chowders.Dress is casual, children's menu available, air conditioning and full bar with local micro brews available.
Came here on the recommendation of the motel we were staying at and it did not disappoint. Wanted to have our first taste of lobster in Maine. Server was very cordial and attentive. It was not busy at all so that was great. The atmosphere was excellent and we got a seat right by the window which was nice. Found this to be a high quality place and we wanted to come back another day but did not.

We stopped in for some donuts when passing through town. They had a poor selection to choose from. We could barely get a half dozen. The counter worker was extremely slow. And he could barely help us. The restrooms were dirty.

We specialize in making things from scratch, with the freshest and most superior products possible at affordable prices.
My wife and I took our oldest daughter to dinner there on Saturday night; what a delight. We had been there for breakfast and dinner before. This time we were celebrating so it was a special occasion, which is my message. If you wish to go to dinner as part of a celebration consider doing it at The Bacon Tree...you won't be disappointed. Their chef/s will provide you with delicious food and the staff will make you feel special. We plan to do so more often than we have to date.

The fried food was just fried food... basically ok.but very greasy...the clam chowder was not what most people call chowder...it was clams in a thin milk broth...no texture to it...just milk with clams thrown in and no flavor...we ended up tossing chowder away. We were...MoreVery sorry your experience was not as expected. We have had wonderful reviews all year on the clam chowder. I am sorry it was not what you expected. Since the pier in Castine was loaded with MMA back to school families and tourists, we decided not to lunch there and to stop somewhere along the way on our drive back to Freeport. The busy intersection at Bucksport offered some options and we hit Crosby's. With outside seating, at shaded picnic tables, the dog could join us. There is no inside seating unlike the nearby Mainely Lobsters. Crosby's is a traditional order at the window drive in. Lots of traditional and seafood options. Three in our party had the small haddock basket (with slaw and fries). Even the small basket was a generous portion -- hot and tasty. The non seafood eater was happy with his hot dog. I did a shrimp roll with fries which was a perfect lunch. Prices were reasonable though fish and seafood entrees all were $10 and up. It was a little cheaper than Mainely Lobster next door. We did pick up our live lobsters there afterwards for $5.50 a pound. Crosby's is a nice stop to break up the drive home from MMA.

We stopped for lunch when passing through Bucksport. We really enjoyed this restaurant. The wait-staff was very courteous. The views of the river across the street were very pretty. We had their chili and it was excellent. Price was very reasonable. Would recommend and we will definitely stop if ever in that area again.

We went for a birthday lunch. What a wonderful ambiance!! The owners were wonderful as well. The food is delicious and the selections really diverse and fun.
The dining room is reminiscent of Europe and so relaxing. Courtney, our server, was attentive and very helpful explaining the wines and the tapas. A really nice selection of wines and ports. Worth the drive to Bucksport for sure and we will tell our friends and go again. Thank you Colleen and Courtney for a wonderful birthday "lunch."

On my final evening visiting Bucksport my local friends and I stopped at Bucksport House of Pizza for an eat-in supper. It's not fancy, but the service was fast and efficient and the food was very well prepared and delicious. I had a pepperoni-onion-bell pepper pizza which had an incredibly good thin crust and generous, delicious toppings. This is a great place for a fast, filling, and tasty meal!

Amazing lunch and amazing coffee. They even had sandwiches specifically geared towards kids tastes. My kids absolutely loved their sandwiches and wanted more. I love how they sell organic food and use organic milk in their coffee drinks. We will definatley be back. Make sure you try the tuna fish sandwich and the Hawaiian even if you are by yourself.
