It might be because the season on the Cape is just about over. Somehow, we had the impression that the staff didn't really care whether we there or not, or whether we enjoyed ourselves or not.
One of us has some food allergy/sensitivity issues and it seemed as though our server was not the least bit enthusiastic about asking the cook/chef whether he/she would be willing to be somewhat flexible in preparing several of the dishes.
The items that the three of us ended up ordering were quite tasty and the portions were generous.
The dining area is pleasant and certainly is appropriate for an upscale "fish house." It was not exactly quiet on a half-filled night, so it is easy to imagine times when it could be difficult to hear.
The back corners of the parking lot are quite dark at night. Watch your step!

I met a friend here for coffee/tea. The staff are very pleasant. There was a steady stream of customers arriving in the late afternoon. They have a nice selection of tea and many different areas to sit and visit.Thank you for choosing our space to have your visit. We really appreciate the nice review!

Celebrating our 30th anniversary, the historic 1840 Captain Linnell House is home to Cape Cod's most distinguished fine dining restaurant as well as an award winning Cape Cod wedding, rehearsal dinner, and corporate venue site. We are located in Orleans, MA around the corner from Skaket Beach, a picturesque setting for a Cape Cod beach wedding ceremony. The Captain Linnell House is chef owned and offers expertly prepared classic fare - from iced Wellfleet oysters, escargot and baby kale salad, to entrees of rack of lamb, Black Angus prime rib, roast duckling with fresh raspberries, scrod n' parchment, and much more. We go as local and organic as possible. A three course $35.00 Prix Fixe Menu is offered from Mid-September thru June. Enjoy dining in one of our unique dining rooms. Our garden room looks out over a spacious lawn with the sunset in the distance. Fireplaces grace the other two. We are off the beaten path but finding us is memorable!
The ambiance, waitstaff and the food at Captain Linnell's House is always such a treat to experience! Their Prime Rib as always, was wonderfully prepared. This is just such a treasure on Cape Cod. Highly recommend.

With the love of chocolate and a loan, we started The Chocolate Sparrow, a simple candy shop, in 1989 in North Eastham. Gradually we learned the art of making fine chocolate and the business of selling it. In 1991 we opened a summer shop in Wellfleet. Two years later in Orleans, we opened The Hot Chocolate Sparrow, a cafe complete with coffee from around the world, desserts of every indulgence, and our own hand-dipped chocolates. Here we could offer specialty coffee drinks in a sophisticated but welcoming atmosphere. We have grown into a local institution, open early morning to late night, every day of the year except Christmas. We created a place where people can connect. Our cafe is recognized Cape-wide, our chocolate is sent all over the country, and our coffee, desserts, and fudge have been voted #1 numerous times in various local surveys. No wonder we are recognized as "The Best on the Lower Cape."
Very popular place for locals and tourists alike. A nice array of premium pastries and beverages, all very good. A small amount of Indoor seating serves the off season crowd makes a nice place to hang out. The chocolates are high-priced and just average at best. Again, a nice variety and assortment, just lacking a rich, creamy chocolate taste. Try Munson's chocolate when you pass through Connecticut.
Located in the center of Orleans, with additional parking and bike trail access right across the street.

Also serving Premium Soft Serve. Refreshing drinks of all sorts are available as well. Milkshakes, Smoothies, Slushes, Floats. You name it we have it. Many Vegan and nondairy choices also available. Non dairy Ice Cream, Non dairy Soft Serve as well as Sorbets. All nondairy items can be used in milkshakes as well as smoothies when combined with your choice of Soy, Almond or Coconut milk.
Stopped in here for ice cream with a vegan in our group. They have several non-dairy choices, including soft serve. Ice cream was pretty good. No seating inside, but tables and chairs outside. Prices not exactly cheap, but comparable to other ice cream shops on the Cape. Overall would rate it average for ice cream place; would give it extra half star if I could for non-dairy options.

Their hot lobster roll was very yummy. We ended up going here multiple times on our trip and found the food to be better than some of the other options. For just ice cream, we found better alternatives but great spot for seafood!

Staying at Oceans Edge, we were looking for a quick breakfast before a morning of Birding. Sadly this bakery, gift shop opens after 8AM.
We returned the next day at 9AM and HAPPINESS...OPEN. Fresh and inventive muffins, scones and other breakfast delights were available. We enjoyed the moist flavorful Blue Berry Muffin and Morning Glory. The muffins were baked to perfection; crunchy top, moist center. I liked that the muffins were not huge. Just the right size to satisfy. The coffee was just OK, and service was friendly.

This restaurant was recommend to us as the perfect place to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. We were not disappointed. The place is beautiful and the views over the bay are stunning. The staff certainly know how to look after you. We were made to feel very special at every point during the evening.
The food was exceptional in taste and presentation and the little tasters were a nice touch. The lobster carbonara was a spectacular entree followed by fresh pan fried scallops and then ending with a floating island dessert. Aaron our waiter was very friendly, professional and attentive making it a night to remember.

Revel in the old fashioned charm of an English tavern. Located on the lower level of the Mansion & Ocean Edge Resort & Golf Club and open year 'round, this cozy, intimate gathering spot features a piano and four flat screen televisions to help you keep track of the Pats, Red Sox, Bruins and Celtics.
My wife and I visited friends staying at Ocean Edge and we went to Bayzo's Pub for dinner and were pleasantly surprised at how great this little hotel Pub is. The dark and cool display of granite and brick makes you feel like you're in an old castle and the staff was unbelievable. They were extremely busy and one could see why because of the limited amount of tables the but the bar was ample and we sat at the bar and got drinks from two great bartenders Ted and Andrew while we waited for our table. Service was quick and they made small talk with all their guests. The hostess was very sweet and when we got to the table our waiter Roman was incredibly kind and very informed about the menu and the wines. We sat at a table where we could see most of the restaurant and the staff was efficient and helping each other as it was so busy and we all commented how well-run the restaurant was. The manager John who not only came over to our table twice to see how we were doing and made small talk but went to every single table. I have been in the restaurant business a long time myself and I've never seen somebody run a restaurant like this guy; he was like a general directing the troops yet at the same time smiling and spending time with every guest and every member of his staff. Our food came out timely and was absolutely delicious; worthy of five stars yet coming out of a small Pub. Clearly the chef and Cooks back there care about what they are doing and it shows. Service was efficient and prompt. If you ever are in the area or at Ocean Edge as a guest or going to one of many weddings they seem to do you should definitely stop in to Bayzo's!
