Peter Havens provides an elegant but relaxed atmosphere in which to enjoy chef/owner Zach Corbin's accomplished cuisine. The menu has French and Italian influences (always house-made pasta and gnocchi!) But always has Zach's own culinary flare. Locals and visitors alike enjoy the intimate setting and often enjoy dining at our bar, where we serve innovative and exciting specialty cocktails. Our wine list is eclectic and ever-changing, with an emphasis on natural wines from France, Italy, and the US. Reservations are recommended.
Had dinner here last week. Small restaurant with active/full bar scene. Bar is not separate from dining area so it's fairly noisy. My wife asked about attributes of a wine. Server had no clue. Service was very slow. 3 different people waited on us. Food was very good.

Unpleasant. Unfriendly. Good coffee, though. Serves many bakery items, including scones, but has no butter?? What? Much too much throwback to 1960s counterculture for this traveler. Wish I had been warned away and wish I had walked further up the street...

wonderful breads, croissants, sweets, etc. Excellent lunch menu: sandwiches, soups, good coffee, tea. Small seating area overlooking CT River. Should be listed with you.
My wife and I were walking around Brattleboro looking for a bakery and Voila`, we found Amy's. We ordered a couple pieces of the most delicious veggie pizza that we ate there in their dining area overlooking the river, and got some fresh baked treats to go. Sweet!

I found this place on Yelp and had uncertain expectations for a small town. Yet, this place had great food. I loved my Tamales and the pumpkin tortilla that my date had was also very good. I recommend having a reservation to ensure you get a table, we sat at the bar which was absolutely fine. The service was also extremely friendly. Would definitely go back.

My wife and I found this a great pla.ce for a vegan, gluten-free, and lactose-free lunch. The cups are locally made. The staff are friendly. We had a great view of a rushing stream. The restaurant is centrally located in Downtown Brattleboro, VT, near the
Amtrak Station and Brattleboro Museum and Arts Center.

Reservations are a must for this small restaurant. There is no menu and the waitress describes the tempting options. I believe that there were 4 each for dinner, appetizer and dessert. The kitchen is larger than the dining area and the aromas are as delicious as the food. My scallops on polenta came with a wonderful salad. Dinner for 2 with tip was $229.25. We will plan our next trip to VT around a day when T.J. Buckley's is open. The only problem was panhandlers who annoyed us both coming and going to this restaurant.

My wife and I live less than a mile from The Vermont Country Deli. I remember it growing up in Brattleboro as the Centerville Store located half way between Brattleboro and West Brattleboro. We were thinking we wanted something different for lunch. The place is packed with customers during the weekends, but being a weekday I found it and in and out though there were many customers there.
We had checked the menu from a newspaper insert and thought we'd try the Travelin' Turkey. WOW, delicious. Here's how we had it. Turkey on large slices sourdough bread, whole cranberry sauce spread out, mayo, lettuce, 4-5 slices of tomato, 3 pieces of cheese and Spanish onions!
The place is loaded with all kinds of sandwiches, soups, foods, gifts, candy from the Good Ole Days that you can't find anymore and MORE! Worth the stop!

An affordable good BBQ meal while on a day trip to Vermont. We tried the combo meal and half rack ribs. Good pulled pork and chicken, the ribs were tender. The menu had other food choices other than barbecue.

Whetstone Station Restaurant and Brewery combines a large casual restaurant and open air rooftop bier garten, with a small experimental nano-brewery, all located right on the Connecticut River in Vermont. We offer an "inspired pub fare" style menu, with everything from small bites for a few bucks to full entrees. Along with one, always changing unique craft beer of their own they offer dozens of guest craft beers on draft and specialty drinks, all in an amazing waterfront location. The unique round building has been restored into a beautiful fire-lit space with a contemporary and industrial vibe. Indoor and outdoor dining, perched above the river, alongside a steel bridge and nestled between the green mountains make the amazing location a "don't miss" on any visit through Vermont.
Our innkeep recommended this place as an option for us to eat. Well we thoroughly enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Staff was friendly and attentive. Drinks were great. And the prices were awesome. Being from NY a flight of beers is never going to be 9 bucks... highly recommend the perogies.

Yep it is high priced for the Monadnock region and I was skeptical but my wife wanted to give it a try. A crisp, thin cracker style of seasoned bread along with some anise soaked olives were served before the meal. The seasoned bread was very nicely prepared and went really well with our beers. I had lamb shank with a quinoa pilaf that were both French quality. The tender shank alost fell off the bone & had a crisp skin and a delicious thick jus. This rivals what I have had in France. My wife tried the vegetarian Cavatelli and found it savory and satisfying. Draft beer prices were extremely reasonable with a selection that covered many styles of beer. The meals were not huge so we left feeling comfortable instead of overstuffed. An eclectic mix of ingredients which I was concerned about but trust the chef, our meals tasted really nice. Our service was good and the atmosphere is dimly lit and Brattleboroish... a mix of nice and leaky windows. It does have an open kitchen but we had no issues with noise from the kitchen. So, go knowing that it will cost you some money (for Monadnock) but there is a very good chance that you will have a extremely good meal.
