Bluefields (Spanish pronunciation: [bluˈfjelds]) is the capital of the South Caribbean Autonomous Region (RACS) in Nicaragua. It was also the capital of the former Zelaya Department, which was divided into North and South Caribbean Coast Autonomous Regions. It is located on Bluefields Bay at the mouth of the Escondido River in the municipality of the same name.

This is the "cultural" restaurant where you can see old photo panels, typical costumes for festivals and some souvenirs. On weekends you can try the famous "run down" soup. The mint chewy candies given with your bill are hand made and tasty. The place is very popular among locals as well as visitors. This is one of the decent restaurants in Bluefields (e.g. "Pelicano", "Chez Marcel", "Salmar", "Bluefields Bay", etc.) where you can enjoy decent food without seeing agressively drunken people or having to bear full blast music.

The Martinuzzi family owns 4 adjacent restaurants. There is a pizza house at the corner named Pizza Martinuzzi, actually expanding its dining space for better attention. Chez Marcel, next to pizza house, is considered the best in Bluefields with a/c, really excellent food and service. Salmar, next to chez Marcel, is my favorite place for good service and tranquility. On the second floor of Salmar there is another pizza house but its name is unknown. This place is alwalys full with locals especially on weekends. If you can afford, go to Chez Marcel, if not, upstairs pizza house, although the attention may not be so good. Any of these 4 is better than other restaurants in Bluefields, reason why they maintain their business solid and succesfull for more than 15 years.

The environment is nice, the decoration is outstanding for a town like Bluefields. The food is nice, perfect portion and great flavor. However, if you are in a hurry, this is not the place. The food take a little bit longer, so take your time and enjoy the restaurant.

Service is very slow. Food is OK. Place needs to be maintained better. I stopped going there. I live in Bluefields for part of the year. There's just definitely better choices. It sits on a hill and does have a nice view.

Restaurant of Bahia with high Historical, Cultural, and Gastronomic content, with dance floor and Karaoke, specialty in Seafood
We stopped in here for a late lunch after having arrived from the airport. The place is quite lovely located in a spot with a decent view. Everyone in our group was well satisfied with the food that we received. Each dish was prepared well and tasted good. The service was a bit 'relaxed' (slow) as far as the time it took for everything to come out and to get the bill, etc. However, the server was very kind and a joy to work with. I would suggest checking this place out as one of the better places in Bluefields to eat.

Making our first pass to check out the town, we spotted this restaurant. A man sitting at the sidewalk bar volunteered,"the food is good here"! After looking at the nice menu, we ordered lunch; fried chicken with fries and chicken with fresh salad. It was prepared perfectly, tasted great and a value totaling $7.
The atmosphere of country music and Elvis while watching a local baseball game gave us a hint of the local culture .
