I recently moved to Haarlem and searched TripAdvisor for the best local restaurants. Chez Bastijan had such good reviews so booked for a Saturday night with a friend and it didn't disappoint. The service was of a very high standard, the specials were explained and wine recommended. Our mouths were watering just looking at other diners meals and we had the chateaubriand (for two). It was amazing. Beautifully cooked to our taste, which was rare and priced fairly. The ambience was lovely with couples, friends and families all present. I couldn't fault it and will definitely make this a regular dining spot.

Charming little restaurant in the heart of Haarlem. Warm and inviting with a great atmosphere on a chilly night. I had the Haddock and my a pasta dish with a salad. The Haddock was wonderfully cooked to perfection on a bed of tasty risotto. Thr flavors from the risotto were subtle enough to let the fish shine. The presentation was superb. My wife's pasta was cooked to perfection with a wonderful light taste. The salad was an adventure to eat as you dug down through the layers different vegetables and things kept appearing making for a great salad. No problems figuring out the menu even in Dutch. Just ask Amber to help you, and she'll more than happy to go into detail about the dishes.

For more than 27 years Erawan Thai restaurant provides Authentic Thai cuisine in a romantic atmosphere. We provide freshly made dishes containing the original vegetables and spices which are flown in from Bangkok every week. These ingredients form the basis for the flavors the Thai cuisine is famous for. Recognized by the Royal Thai Embassy as an authentic Thai restaurant, we have been rewarded with the "Thai Select" logo.
As nearly as i could tell, this was a locals type place. You could clearly see that interaction with customers was based on familiarity. A very pleasant atmosphere with wonderfully prepared dishes. When in Haarlem and seeking a significant change up from Dutch fair it's hard to imagine a better choice. Highly recommended.

At Specktakel we work with the best ingredients from all over the world with a born understanding of combining flavours of food & wine. Its colours, aromas, and flavours, so simple together creating a wonderful feast to talk about…Let us guide you how to enjoy the flavours and atmosphere in our world of food & wine....
International menu changes on a regular basis and you can put together your chosen 3-courses menu. In the back it's most of the times I've been a bit quieter (noise-wise). Very central location.

A regional Brewery with all kinds of beer from their own brewery. You can go for a drink, for lunch and dinner, all 'honest' products, Dutch cuisine with a nice authentic touch!

Trendy 'small dinner' restaurant. Espresso, winebar. 7 days a week a 'dolce vita' experience with breakfast, lunch and dinner or just for a drink.
We had a quick stop at our favorite restaurant again, during Haarlem Jazz Festival, we could get a table without reservation, which is quite unique and again had a great dinner...
Super tasty food and great wines.. the freshly made scroppino's are also highly recommendable like the restaurant!

Not in the touristy area, but accross the river Spaarne at like 10 min walk from Central Square Grote Markt this place is. Really worth a walk.
Close to the only entrygate Haarlem has still left, looking towards the city of Amsterdam (Amsterdamse Poort.. Amsterdam Gate) this is a hidden gem.
Great food, lots of choices of pizza, nice housewine, good service.
Everything we tried was tasty.
Certainly worth a visit.

Australian chef Peter Edwards, together with his wife Natasja and their team have been serving Modern Australian Cuisine for over 14 years. Qualilty seasonal produce both local and imported are of utmost importance. We have long standing relationships with our suppliers to Ensure we get the products we require. Grainfed Black Angus from the Clare Valley, Kangaroo from Western N.S.W tot Hiramassa Kingfish from South Australia are just a few of the ingredients sourced from Australia. The menu is constantly evolving to take advantage of each ingrediënt in its prime. Guests are invited to choose from our 3-course a la carte menu or take a culinary trip through Australia enjoying our 5-course degustation menu. Together with our sommeliers we have individual tailor made wine pairings with our food. All wines we have imported ourselves or come from one of our specialists suppliers.
What a great pleasure to visit this restaurant! Delicious Australian mixed with Asian fusion food. Choose the 6 course surprise menu and every course is a huge pleasure to taste, see and experience especially with the well chosen wines!
Excellent staff! Great professionals and very kind!
My favourite in Haarlem and surrounding.

This is where you get what you want, in any shape or colour. And with a chat from chef or anybody there. In a wonderful setting, combine with a beach walk or Haarlem visit.
There is the question if there could be a third star, I would say YES, because this is no place where you feel uncomfortable at any point of time and if you pay the price (YES) you get the max. We had lobster, coquilles, sea bass, pheasant and oysters, and could have had meat, cheese and sweets, but just did not do so (this time). Wow what a place. Must DO!
And yes you can park...

Although we were about 20 minutes late for our reservation, we were greeted with a gracious smile and escorted to a table with a gorgeous view of the lake in front of the hotel. The restaurant is charming and the service was very personal. We started with a couple of cocktails and Milton, the sommelier choose a bottle for us based on some of the wines/producers I love (White Burgundy). He also made excellent suggestions (a Priorat) for later in the meal to pair with meat courses. And introduced me to a great German winemaker Oliver Zeter.
As for the food, the progression and artistry of the meal was delightful and we thoroughly enjoyed every course. I know I can't eat like that everyday, but I will definitely be back to see what Chef Alain Alders and Sommelier Milton Verseput has in store next!
Thank you to the staff for the excellent service! Especially Elmar!
