On entering this former station waiting room one is struck by the stylish monochromatic décor. We were seated quite quickly as the bar area is somewhat limited, and drinks ordered quickly. The charming and attentive staff attended to our every need. I chose a poached salmon starter served on brioche (absolutely delicious) followed by chicken, beautifully cooked, in a curry flavoured mango sauce and served with a selection of tasty vegetables. The chicken dish was OK but I rather wished I had selected the legendary fishcakes. Again. We rounded the meal with a generous handful of scrumptious chocolates. A private do and a cracking evening.

Had a fantastic family lunch celebrating 2 birthdays and Mothers Day all on the same weekend. Couldn't fault the service, food or surroundings. We had between us the soup of the day, potted pork, Heritage potatoes & rarebit for starters. Then fish pie, Guinea fowl. veggie ravioli & vegetable & tomato stew. Also had the small selection desserts to share. Can't wait to return. Still not sure about the cucumber in the G & T though :-)

Since opening in 2007, twins Matthew and Michele Barker, the partnership and passion behind The Westwood Restaurant, focus on offering high quality, locally sourced ingredients, showcasing the best of what the region has to offer. The Westwood has become one of the most popular restaurants in East Yorkshire, situated in the historic market town of Beverley, between York and Hull, the Westwood is located a short walk from the Westwood Pasture offering stunning views of the black mill, the race course and Beverley Minster. Set in the grounds of Beverley's former Grade II listed Georgian courthouse, The Westwood's contemporary interior blends beautifully with the period features and charm of this historic building.
We returned for the Sunday lunch on our 1st anniversary. This was poignent as we had enjoyed a brilliant family reception there last year. The food was again brilliant with very polite and efficient young staff. The selection and value was god for somewhere offering this quality.

Had tried to book for 4 people for a Saturday night but they don't take bookings. The weather was horrendous all day (blizzards) so we hoped it wouldn't be too busy. Arrived at 7.30pm and it was rammed. We were told it would be around 40minutes wait but we weren't going anywhere so sat down and ordered drinks. Finally got seated around 8pm.
We were in the "outside" part but roof closed, heaters on and blankets if needed. Very cosy.
We all had starters, which came quickly, bearing in mind how busy they were. Lots of choice and all delicious without being too much or too heavy. Main meals also came quickly and were enjoyed by all. Good portions. Staff very attentive without being overbearing.
Overall a very pleasant and enjoyable visit.
Good value for food and drinks.
Will definitely be back.
Would just like to say also that the young lady on front of house was very professional when she had to deal with some obnoxious 'do you know who I am?' who would not give in and kept other people waiting, just to get his point across. It passed the time whilst we were waiting to be seated. Free cabaret, great food......what more could you ask for?

Located in the heart of Beverley in the historic Anne Routh House. Serving homemade daily specials, cakes and scones.
Often visited and food from Menu. Today, 22/02/2018, we each had one of the specials. Both were excellent. We will be returning in a couple of weeks for my 70th Birthday Cream Tea - looks amazing, and appears good value. Staff are very friendly and attentive.

Didn't know if this should be listed as a restaurant or attraction. Fantastic place, Kim and Tony give a lovely welcome, all food is sourced locally and really nice - they deserve a mention!!!
Visited tonight with my family, the fire was roaring which was q nice welcome from the bitter cold outside. We were made to feel very welcome by the young guy behind the bar. We ordered steak pie and the scampi and haddock platter. We wasn't waiting long before it was served, it was amazing. The best steak pie I've had in a long time. The pub like other reviews had gone down a while ago and the food wasn't up to scratch. However the new landlords have pulled it around the atmosphere, food and service was fantastic. We will definitely be eating there soon.

The food we serve at Ogino is authentic modern Japanese cuisine. The menu, conceived by proprietor and chef Rieko Ogino, is diverse and imaginative. She prides herself on delivering a full food experience that's not only creative, but also delivers an array of complex and exquisite flavours. Her concept of modern Japanese cooking using local Yorkshire produce has proved to be a real winning formula. The menu naturally consists of beautiful sushi, but also extensively embraces fresh cooked fish and shellfish, meat including beef and pork, poultry such as chicken and duck. There are many healthy options, special dishes and a wide selection of vegetarian and Gluten free dishes available. Just remember, It's not all about sushi and raw fish you know!
This was my first time trying Japanese food, and oh wow, what a joy. We visited and had the weeknight special two courses and a glass of wine, which was excellent value. The waitress was really helpful, explaining the food, and offered cutlery if we couldn't manage chopsticks! I had the sushi of the day to start with and the pork katsu curry, both of which were delicious. My boyfriend had the tempura and chicken teriyaki and thoroughly enjoyed those too. We will absolutely be back soon.

Nice little cafe in a pretty location. Website implies a visit presents opportunity for a nice round trip walking experience. Sadly most of the walking areas are out of bounds due to the Angling taking place.

A hidden gem in the centre of Beverley, serving genuine home made food and a selection of Cask Marque accredited real ales and real cider.Just 5 minutes walk from the historic Beverley Minster, the pub has it's own car park & beer Gardens at the rear.
Popped in here for Sunday lunch on the off chance after hearing good things about the food. Managed to get a table, even though it was very busy, the staff did their best to accommodate us. We went for the traditional roast beef Sunday lunch, this was served quickly which was great as we were very hungry. It was fine apart from the lumpy mashed potatoes. This was a big deal for me, I have a serious aversion to lumpy mashed potatoes, a hang up from school (many years ago I have to add). So serious is my problem with lumpy mash I didn’t eat it for 20 odd years. Apart from that it was fine, staff very friendly, good beer. Will go again and have chips.
