We went for the first time late on a Friday morning during the December holidays. As mentioned in other reviews, we had reservations which was a smart thing since it was quite crowded. We had the crab and artichoke open sandwich and it was really delicious. The portion was quite large. I would go back just for this sandwich. My friend had a waffle which was light and tasty; ordered the lemon curd with the waffle, a nice addition. The apple pie was the only dish that was disappointing: it was a tad too sweet and the flavor was nothing special. Service was friendly and efficient; nice casual atmosphere in this Cafe.

The place is typically crowed and noisy. Service and food are mediocre. I've eaten here three times now and only because I love Thai food and downtown Martinez is limited in its options.

My niece's baby shower was held here last month. The teas and deserts that were served were quite nice. The ladies explained the teas that we were drinking that day and I found that particularly helpful. This was an enjoyable spot to have a private party.

{Join us for SUNDAY BRUNCH!} The Bull Valley Roadhouse serves American roadhouse food prepared from scratch with century-old techniques using fresh ingredients from our favorite small farms. A beacon at the end of a canyon road in the historic dock town of Port Costa, the roadhouse welcomes locals, travelers and adventurous day-trippers alike in its 1897 landmark dining room and bar. Stepping into the saloon-like rooms, guests can sense more than 100 years of hospitality. The proprietors strive to maintain that warm tradition and leave everyone feeling relaxed, well fed and eager to return. Look for us under the golden bull. Sunday brunch served from 10:30 am through 2:00 pm.
Near the end of the world you will find a town called Port Costa which is actually in the back yard of San Francisco / Oakland area. Port Costa is located on the Carquinez Strait and has a lovely restaurant called the Bull Valley Roadhouse. The Roadhouse has been magically refreshed to the splendor of an old time bar & restaurant. It’s a splendid mix of the old and new perfectly placed in a quaint town. It was lovely too as a group party was in the bar and a wedding was in the back room. The restaurant service, food, and ambiance was perfect with a nice selection of music playing softly in the background. The mixologist made the most excellent libations while the chef (and dessert baker) made you want to lick the plates clean. After dinner make sure to visit the local shops and Victorian hotel. Hopefully this town won’t change and will remain faithful to its roots.

On a Sunday morning during our early walk my husband was craving a pastry so, we decided to stop by Rosanna's. Obviously the pastries are not baked on the premises. They get brought from the bakery in Farfield.which is fine but what is not acceptable is when they sell to you day old pastries. Not good:( I'm not sure but you can't even get a capuchino. I can only say that their croissants are good when they are fresh and baked on the premises.

Benecia is a lovely place to stop for lunch on a return trip from Tahoe to the Bay Area. Lucia’s is located on the cute Main Street of this historic California town.
There is something for every taste on the menu including vegetarian selections, a great Rueben and fries and a variety of interesting, and tasty salads. All four of us enjoyed our choices.
The service was excellent, the ambiance was fun and I suggest a stroll following lunch to browse the interesting shops. I highly recommend this restaurant and will go again.

My kids love to stop in when we are in town. They love the bubblegum ice cream that is special to Double Rainbow. They are a little expensive, but a nice splurge.

This is where the locals hang. Local paintings on the wall, local folks sitting for hours, local family running the business, and excellent coffee. This is so much better than the Starbucks next door. It's been around so long, it should be considered historically significant. I find the coffee to have a very nutty taste that I quite enjoy. To top it off, they offer gluten free goodies. Support your local people, drink excellent coffee and eat gluten free. It's a wonder all the other joints don't catch on. Good job, Rrags. I do think your name suffers a basic appeal, but you've got everything else going for you. Love the decor, too.

Upscale seafood focused restaurant housed in one of Benicia's most historic buildings steps away from the Carquinez Straight, with dramatic bay views.
Sailor Jack’s provides amazing views, great service (thank you Kristine) and average food. We went for brunch on a Saturday - four adults and three kids. The food was mostly tasteless except for the overpowering orange flavored maple syrup. The dishes were tepid at best - nothing was really hot, except the coffee. I’m glad we went once, but not again.

Venticellos menu offers various entrée salads for lunch (along with many other dishes). One of us had the pesto chicken salad and the other the spinach salad with shrimp. The portions were generous; however, the balsamic vinaigrette dressing for the spinach salad was too sweet. Perhaps the restaurant should lighten up on the amount of dressing poured on the salads... both salad seemed overly dressed.
