I live in Solihull and regularly visit my friend who lives in Heage ...... we always eat in Elaichi. Friendly staff who are always happy to give advice, if needed, with the menu. Great food which can be tailored to your taste buds ..... hot, spicy, mild ..... your choice. Lovely atmosphere and always busy so worth booking your table. Definitely highly recommended ..... you won't be disappointed if you eat here.

Decided to go to Belper and where else should we eat but Georges on the A6 . Parking available at the side of the premises made it ideal . The Haddock is superb and my mother just loves the Plaice and Chips . The batter on the fish is the best I have had . With a bottle of Fentimans each our meal came to less than £20 . Will come again . Very clean toilets , and always friendly staff

First visit after hearing good reports.
Were surprised how busy it was - it was packed and had a great buzz. Angelo very much in control guiding staff and greeting customers - very personable.
Varied menu made it difficult to choose. Went for soup - golden veg with cream, a couple of mushrooms with paprika and a belly pork, followed by a couple of lasagnes, spaghetti carbonara and tagliatelle Angelo - with chicken, pancetta and mushrooms. The lasagne portions were generous as were the pasta dishes, having gorged on the lovely crusty bread I couldn’t eat all my tagliatelle which was a shame. Was surprised when Angelo asked on our departure if there had been a problem, he’d noticed the left over pasta even though he hadn’t served us, and was concerned there was an issue - there definitely wasn’t.
Will absolutely visit again as there were a number of dishes I’d like to try. The bill was very reasonable given 4 rounds of drinks and one dessert. Super!

Restaurant in Belper
I haven’t eaten here in a few years, so thought I’d give a breakfast a go….. my breakfast was delicious and full of flavours. However, we did have to clear dirty pots from our table (as other reviewers have mentioned). One of our glasses had greasy fingers prints! Putting that to one side, the place was extremely busy and had a great atmosphere.

This is a traditional village pub which has a restaurant area and does very good, simple food, that is cooked fresh to order. The bar area has recently been refurbished to a high standard, and an extension has created an additional dining area which is disabled friendly.
It's 4 years since we visited the Black Boy, and after a rather mediocre meal last time thought we'd try it again. The new dining room was much better and the staff were very welcoming and friendly, but unfortunately the meal was once again only average. The meal was cooked fresh, and there were adequate vegetables, but the portion of meat was very small compared to other restaurants we'd been to in the area, and of a similar price, and the service was slow. We neither felt we would want to go again, sorry but that's just our honest view.

Our Restaurant is run in the Italian way with passion and flair. We present an original idea to combine Italian and English cuisine in the relaxed surroundings of the picturesque town of Belper, Derbyshire.
Fantastic food. Great quality for the cost. Nice atmosphere, special meal out. I had the salmon starter which was fresh and tasty. The fact you get bread on the table is a nice touch. Drinks fairly priced- house white delicious.
Only problem was how hot the room was and lacked a sense of space- felt a bit cramped! But what a treat. We will be back!

A warm welcome awaits you at our family run pub, a hub for real ale drinkers and walkers alike. A traditional 17th century village inn, where highwayman Dick Turpin is reported to have frequented on his travels. An increasingly rare breed of unspoilt inn, where time has stood still, encapsulating the character and charm of the building. With fresh homecooked food, a selection of fine real ales and warmth from the open fires, there is much to tempt you. Nothing comes close to our pork pie and a pint!
Holly bush is always a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon, whether that be by the fire in the winter or outside in the derbyshire sun in the summer! Your guiness is always excellent as is your ale selection. Love your pies! We like...MoreThanks for such a lovely review it means a lot to the team here. I will pass on the comments about the cheese board to the kitchen. Much appreciated.

Stopped in here during the rock and blues custom show after hearing about it from some bikers.
We actually arrived shortly before it opened but the gentleman working was over accommodating opening early for us.
Food was great! I had a meal deal small cod and chips (not on the small side at all) which actually came with peas however he kindly offered alternatives if I didn't want peas - the same for my boyfriends pie and chips meal deal.
The gentleman working also allowed us to eat in with takeaway prices
Would definitely return if in the area again!
All round lovely.

A real find in the main shopping street in Belper.
The place was packed on Saturday night by 8 p.m. as we had a drink at the downstairs bar before going upstairs to our table. Staff were young, smart, attentive and friendly.
The food was superb - seared scallops followed by fillet steak with some good and reasonably priced red wine.
A very lively place so don't expect a quiet meal but do expect a great culinary experience in a stylish establishment.
Go on, treat yourself!
