Belmont is a small suburban city in Gaston County, North Carolina, United States, located about 15 miles (24 km) west of uptown Charlotte and 9 miles (14 km) east of Gastonia. The population was 10,076 at the 2010 census. Once known as Garibaldi Station, the name change for Belmont is disputed. Some say it was named for a prominent New York banker - August Belmont. Others contend the Pope ordered the abbot of the monastery to change the name since he would not tolerate an abbey in a place that bore the Garibaldi name. The abbot could see Crowder's mountain from the property and named the town Belmont - "beautiful mountain". Belmont is home to Belmont Abbey College.

At Peace N Hominy Q Shack, we believe in great BBQ prepared with smoke and time, local ingredients in our homemade dishes, and southern hospitality! Our approach is simple: source the best local ingredients we can and don't fuss with them too much. We cook our barbeque the old school way with plenty of smoke and time, adding just the right amount of salt and spice to let that lovely marriage of process and product evolve into something transcendent. And of course, sauce on the side with some fresh baked bread and handmade hot-n-sweet pickle chips! Step on up to our counter, order a variety of meats, and watch your BBQ get carved by hand! We're passionate about food made the right way - delicious and juicy with locally-sourced ingredients. Whether you're enjoying our tender pulled pork, flavorful brisket, or a Catawba Burger with chili and onions, we guarantee you won't be disappointed! We're eco-friendly as can be, warm and welcoming, and can even cater your next special event! So join us soon at Peace N Hominy Q Shack for some unforgettable BBQ, southern hospitality, and good times with friends or family
I ate here twice. The brunch was excellent. I then went back for lunch to try their barbecue. It was very good as well. There's an outdoor patio and some seating inside as well. There's a really good reason why they are one of the top restaurants in town. I'd highly recommend it. It's a short drive from Charlotte airport and the airport hotels.

Hometown coffee shop where they get to know you quickly! Coffee is hot and excellent with a good choice of espresso and speciality drinks. Try the peanut butter mocha with all the toppings for a real treat!! Staff is friendly and welcoming. Plenty of tables and free wi-fi. Great place to start your day with coffee, a pastry or sandwich and catch up on your emails.

Waterfront casual American grill. Clean, comfortable, upscale grill, featuring appetizers, sandwiches, salads, pasta, ribs, chicken, seafood, steaks and prime rib.
The only negative thing I can say about this restaurant is the long waiting time for food. The food was good with large size portions and the prices are very affordable. The restaurant sits in the middle of a large condo complex and provide pleasant views of the river.

We've had coffee and ice-cream here so many times! They have a lot to chose from and everything is always so good. The staff is fantastic.... my kids love playing checkers and just hanging out after a busy day playing at Goat Island.
They also have kayak rentals which is a cool thing.... for $20 you can have a kayak all day and go around the south fork river. I love this little town so much and this coffee house is a nice spot.

Located in Historic Downtown Belmont, our building is right on main street. We have our very own parking, conveniently located right beside our newly renovated, large outdoor patio. Just keep an eye out for The String Bean 'green' shade sails.
I’ve eaten here before and thoroughly enjoyed the food, but this visit with my daughter failed to impress. I had one of their flatbread pizzas and it was thin on toppings and fairy tasteless. My daughter had a chicken salad sandwich which she said as “OK”, bland in teen-speak. There was also confusion as to which server had our table so we also spent an unusual amount of time waiting for things. I did like their beer selection, however. Will try other local restaurants next time ...

We have been coming here for years. The food is consistently good, but never knock-your-socks-off fantastic. The sushi is fresh and the entrees are large and presented beautifully. The new location is well-done and has become a very popular place with the locals. A very good choice for Asian food in this area!

DQ's are everywhere but I bet they don't have a country fried steak and gravy OPEN faced sandwich plate. That sandwich is great but you MUST apply salt and pepper because they do not season it. And, don't forget you Blizzard!

they give you a lot for your money. The hamburgers are really huge and cooked fresh to order. They only take cash though, no Credit cards, but well worth the trip.

My family of 5 adults from England were visiting friends in Belmont and for our first breakfast we visited Chick-fil-A for the first time.
Our friends had told us about the amazing chicken biscuits (scones to us English people!) and we all thought they were indeed fantastic. We even had some mini ones as well that were dipped in honey which were to die for!
The restaurant was buzzing but it was clean and tidy and the staff were very friendly despite being crazy busy.
We loved the humour of the advertising posters with the cows - brilliant!
My wife will tell you that she thought the food was fantastic, and the rest of the family agreed that it is the best fast-food we have ever had.
