I moved out of the Wheeling area in 1977, and, besides family, this place is probably the thing I miss most in the Ohio Valley. Their fish is unique. I've had 1000's of good fish sandwiches nationwide, but none compare to this one. The rest of the menu is only so-so, but the fish is worth coming back for. Expect to wait in line to place your order. They have no seating, so unfortunately you have to find seats out in the Market area - not well maintained, but with enough napkins, you can eat off a clean surface.

This restaurant is a great place to stop and check out. Then menu is filled with options from seafood dishes to spaghetti. They are a Greek family so there are quite a few Greek menu items....I recommend the lemon soup. There a home made pies behind the counter and very friendly waitresses wiring to strike up a conversation with you. The prices are reasonable and the company is nice.

I've lived nearby in Pennsylvania all my life, within a half an hour of this place, and had never been here until today (Feb. 14, 2016). The linguini with meatballs was excellent and the portion very sizeable. My mother ordered a calzone and had enough left over for probably two more meals....it was that big! The service was very attentive. Dessert was caramel cheesecake which was awesome. This is a great family-type restaurant, old-fashioned home-cooked Italian food at its best.

This bakery has excellent donuts, pastries abdominal bread. Giant loaf of Italian hard crust bread and rolls at a very resonance price. This place reminds me of a bakery from the 1950s! If you're in Bellaire early in the day, stop here. Afternoons, you might be too late.

Oliver's is essentially a pie kiosk in Centre Market. They have a large kitchen area and a cooler selling pie by the slice as well as full pies. You walk up to order. Along with Centre Market Bakery, there are a lot of dessert options in the upper market house. I love the pecan pie here. Order in advance if you need something special!

We were on the road to Oglebay Park for a family reunion and found this on Trip Advisor. Wow. The BEST burger I've EVER had. The perfect smallish size and cooked to perfection. We have been coming to Wheeling for 26 years and will definitely never come again without stopping at Avenue Eats.

We were traveling through and would have loved to get some bread- it looked great. But, we just got yummy desserts after a lunch. It made everything worthwhile. The cream filling in my dessert was crazy good. My wife says you need to go for a long walk after just looking at everything it looks so great.

Menu selections such as Nobody puts Baby in a Corner. Crepes of Wrath, and Wilbur goes to Venice are typical and will fuel your curiosity as well as tickle your appetite. Specializing in both savory & sweet crepes, Later offers specialty sandwiches, homemade soups and salads at affordable prices. A welcome surprise at this upscale cafe/bistro. WV Div. of Tourism award 2009 for unique eateries. Beer & Wine.
It's probably the best option in Wheeling if you're vegan. They now have the Impossible burger available, as well as their huge and beautiful salads, and their delicious tomato soup (gotta subtract the puff pastry on top; it's not vegan). Several things can be veganized if you do the subtraction (minus cheese, minus mayo, minus this, minus that....and I don't enjoy having to subtract things when I order). That's really the only reason I didn't give this place four+ stars. The decor is unique and fun, the food, limited as it is for those of us who eat cruelty free, tastes wonderful.
And it's located in a fun part of the city with an art center across the street, antique shops, several other things that give you more to do after you've enjoyed a good meal.
