Kids everywhere, in every room.
The food is good, somewhat above average New Mexican cuisine.
The wine and beer offered is mediocre, at best, and disappointing.
Our server was not knowledgable about the beer and wine. Management needs to ensure that the wait staff is personally familiar with, and knowledgeable, about everything on the menu, or encourage them to find work elsewhere.
This restaurant could be so much more than what it is if managed more wisely. I will dine at Penny's Diner next time.

I have eaten here three times and each time the food was delicious and fresh. The last time I also ordered a side of red Chile and it was absolutely the best I have ever tasted!
Also, their coffee is always freshly brewed and gets top rating as well. The young people working at the counter are always friendly and pleasant. I make it a point to stop here when I am traveling through Belen because I am guaranteed a good experience based on past results!

On a trip from Nashville to Albuquerque, we cruising the area south of Albuquerque in Belen & it was lunch time - we had no idea where to stop. After reading the Tripadvisor reviews, we stopped at Big Mike’s. The food was extremely excellent for a day trip lunch stop. It’s located in a small modular building on NM Hwy 47, just north of the corner of 47 & E River Rd - a very unassuming building, the great surprise was the food inside - I had the regular Mike burger w/fries, my husband had the chili Frito pie, and both were perfect. The wait time after we ordered was minimal, it was clean inside, and the food was fresh. Do yourself a favor when you’re around Belen & stop here.
p.s. The breakfast menu looked great, too.

Went here for dinner (It was across the street from the hotel) at about 8pm. Sat myself as nobody seemed interested in acknowledging me. Should have been a clue. One of the lead waiters/workers was sitting at the counter apparently on her break. The other was down the other end doing who knows what. The cook, because he certainly wasn't a chef, was busy talking to the girl on break. Eventually the girl from the far end walked past me and spoke to the people behind me. Eventually she brought me a menu and asked what I wanted to drink. She left and after considerable time came back for my order. Chicken strips and fries w/ Texas toast basket. Quick easy hard to mess up...one might think. Not so fast cowboy. What I got was one of the most unappealing meals I have ever had. Very few fries that were under cooked. The chicken strips (3) were were flat small frozen store bought thrown in a fryer. McDonald's or Wendy's chicken tenders are ten times better. The Texas toast? Well I was under the impression somehow it was supposed to be toasted...ney, ney! It was a slice of warm bread folded in half, not cut diagonal, folded diagonal.

A nice clean restaurant that serves good food with good portions at a reasonable price. Very friendly wait staff; Orlando, the owner, makes the rounds greeting customers and ensuring quality - I like small mom and pop places for that provide that personal touch.

We stopped in for lunch while out just cruising around. The staff is efficient and friendly. The restaurant is clean and bright and the food is quite tasty. We particularly enjoyed the tamale which was well seasoned with not too much masa. The salsa for the chips is really just red Chile, but still tasty. The prices are very reasonable. Will definitely stop again if we are in the area.

Stopped in while en route to TJ Harvey House Museum. Place was busy ! Our server was quite pleasant abet a bit forgetful. Promised to refill our coffee twice and forgot both time. By the way, the coffee was really good!
I ordered the Enchiladas and Eggs = good call!
Everyone in our family enjoyed their Breakfast!
ONLY - issue I had was with the cleanliness of the Men's Room.
AND they had a hourly check list taped to the door!!!
Still, this was a great meal & not to be missed!

Get a good burger at a fairly cheap price here. The building looks kinda old but the inside has lots of neon and pictures and looks very cool
