We had a delicious meal here last week! The server was classy and friendly, allowing us to finish each course before bringing the next one. All of the food was seasoned to perfection and tasty. Our choices were: Jumbo Lump Crab and Corn Fritter and French Mushroom Soup for appetizers and then we split the Seafood Platter. It wasn’t a huge serving, but was plenty for both of us. And all were delicious! For dessert, we shared the warm Bread Pudding. Be sure you eat some of their bread. So good with the basil butter! The wine selection was very good and reasonably priced, too.
So sorry we didn’t discovered this place until now! We will return.

For over 25 years, Monument Inn has been your destination to share family traditions and special occasions with great food and a great atmosphere! Specializing in fresh Gulf Coast seafood, we've become one of Houston's most popular restaurants. In fact, we serve about 80,000 pounds of shrimp and almost 25,000 pounds of catfish, crawfish, and fresh fish every year! If you're in the mood for something fresh from the water, check out our popular Fisherman's Platter with its shrimp, oysters, catfish, stuffed shrimp, and stuffed crab. But guests also love our wide array of pastas, beef, and chicken dishes. And be sure to top it all off with a drink from our full bar! Whether it's business luncheons, meeting with friends, or special occasions, thank you for making Monument Inn your place to make memories!
I had not been to this restaurant for at least 3 decades. Then it was known as the San Jacinto Inn, and as I recall, it was an "all you can eat" situation. I thoroughly enjoyed my overdue return! I had fried shrimp, and my...MoreIt was a pleasure welcoming you back after all those years, Woody. It's great you, your wife, and your brother enjoyed our shrimp. The Tilapia Santiago is absolutely delicious, especially when accompanied with their table-side guacamole and one of their margaritas. Two other favorites of mine are the Shrimp and Mango Salad and the Chipotle Shrimp appetizer. I love going to El Toro with both friends and family -- it is always delicious and the service is amazing!

My medium-rare steak was cooked PERFECTLY!! My Captain and Coke, again, PERFECT! We were originally going to go to a different restaurant, until our Uber driver suggested the Roadhouse, and she was on-point when she said this was a great place for dinner and drinks.

Food was delicious and service was adequate. Unfortunately the volume in the restaurant is ridiculously high, even for a sports bar. Also suspect it may be a bit overcrowded for fire standards. But people seemed to be enjoying it! Definitely would not advise anyone with hearing aids...

Every hamburger joint thinks they have the best burger. And, sometimes they do.....AND, sometimes they don't. This, in my opinion, is a don't. Kinda made me feel like they were trying to copy a hamburger place I DO love not so far away from here, but missed the mark. I got the Mushroom Swiss Burger and it was a greasy, nasty mess. I got a fork and a knife to eat it with because it was just too messy to pick up. If those were fresh mushrooms at one time, they were cooked beyond the point where I would want anything to do with them (very dark and chewy....yuck). The cheese was a single slice that had gone invisible and was mostly stuck to the bun (which I later removed). The hamburger does not stay formed and kept shattering into chunks. The onions were also over-cooked. I asked for extra FRESH onions and got two little pieces. No, I would not order this again. I also ordered (for later that night for my lunch at work) the Bacon Dog (?). Not horrible.....really big juicy beef hot dog which was good- the bottom bun was a little too hard, but doable. I'm not sure what the over-melted mess was all over it, but it was supposed to be bacon, cheese and onion at minimum. The cheese was about all I was sure about as it covered anything else that might have been there. Onion rings are decent and the Jalapeno Poppers are okay. In all fairness to the hot dog, I didn't eat it until later that night (pulled the hot dog out and heated it up), but still....unrecognizable melted stuff is a bit much. No, I don't think I would eat here again. I've satisfied my curiousity as a lot of people (okay, mostly men......must be some attraction for them here) told me to give it a go. I came, I saw, I'm done.

This is a local favorite since the early 1960's. Not only attracting the locals but many from surrounding cities as well. A favorite destination for vacationers for dine in, pick up, or drop off caterings. We start with the freshest of ingredients, provide excellent service, and it is our goal to exceed our guests expectations. We have a variety of menu choices from traditional Tex-Mex, American, Seafood, Steaks, and Hamburgers. Come in and find out why we are always the best choice in the surrounding areas. We look forward to serving you.
One of our favorite hidden spots! Their table side guacamole is the best. Other favorite dishes include the baja tacos (both fish and shrimp) the fajitas, the black beans, seafood enchiladas. The shrimp and mango salad, Santa Fe Caesar salad and ceviche are great if you want something lighter. Favorite drink hands down is the super fruit margarita...must try for sure.

Arrived at 8:15 p.m. and waited several minutes for someone to notice us & seat us, btw, there was no one else waiting. Asked server what soups were available, he said none because it was too late. Ordered chicken & dumplings, they came out on a plate which was a first. The fresh mushrooms I ordered were also not available because it was late. Our waiter said they were always out of things that late in the day. My wife's fried okra was lukewarm as were my potato casserole. We also had to request napkins as they didn't come with the silverware. Lastly, the floor was pretty dirty & slick with grease. We'll not be visiting this c.f. again.
