Krustceles was a wonderful find in Bauska. It is adjacent to the parking lot for Bauska Castle so it is very convenient. We could not have been happier about our selection (we drove around town for awhile and did not find anything more appealing
Everything we ate was good; the service was very good; the staff spoke some english, and the menus have been translated into English. Prices were quite reasonable.

Our family had a day in Latina and wanted taste local food and beer. The menu in the ship wheel was the first to catch our eye. The menu had many many local dishes and a great variety of local beer. The bread was dark and much stringer than what we have in the states, but still very tasty. The server recommended several dishes which we shared family style. The beer was probably our favorite. The blueberry ale got the gold!!

We stopped here for lunch after touring Rundale Palace. This restaurant is a lovely and peaceful place to sit and relax over delicious food. The 2 waitresses were friendly and helpful. The portions are wuite large. The mushroom soup is especially good and we also enjoyed their homemade fizzy juices. The lemon was fantastic.

Overall nice place to visit.
Yet it was quite crowdy and we had to wait some 40 min. Not many tables and seats there.
Big portions and delicious meals.
Average price level.
Not easy to enter with baby trolleys - stairs up without any chance to go up easily.
Generally recommended if passing nearby.

This place is beloved by locals. And there are reasons for it. First of all this place has affordable prices and above-the-average pizza. However, pizza is rich with tasty cheese. In my opinion they need better pizza dough because the pizza base is plane and dry. Definitely, one of the reasons why this place is so beloved by locals is price. If you could buy two pizzas and drinks together for EUR 9 it is a good deal.

After Reading previous feedbacks I feel like I have visited a different place. Anyway, I am quite certain Tornis I have visited was at 30, Rīgas iela, Bauska. Let me share my experience.
Restaurant was almost empty, but we got no attention. We sat down, grabbed our menu. It took them decades to serve us even a cold beetrot soup (for those who are not familiar, it's being prepared in advance, so all you have to do is to serve it, for those who are, they serve water-based version, which is not the same beetrot soup you expect to get in Latvia and Lithuania ).
Fish was Ok, french fries were wet of oil and therefore not crispy at all.
Prices are not low, and they do not fit the service level you get. In my opinion 2.50 € for water-based beetrot soup is too much.
Toilet was unkept and they did accept payment in cash only.
Overall nothing horrible, but I see absolutely no reason visiting them again when you have much better alternatives around.

We offer a range of different cuisines made from fresh products allowing you to enter a magic world of taste and food.
We had a lamb + vegetables soup which was excellent. Followed by rabbit roullette (a sort of mince rabbit roll with potato dumplings), also very good. However, the place lacked atmosphere (looking around I could have been anywhere, although the menu was Latvian), the seats were uncomfortable (we first tried the sofa seats and they were too low to eat), the sparkling water was not cold, the napkin negligible and the price did not seem great (5 Euros for soup). Still, the food was good and no problem with the service (it was quiet as we went early).

Tasty food, good atmosphere and very good location. You are very welcome!
Restaurant is in good location and seems to be attracting lots of tourists as at the time we visited it it was full with people. Despite being packed the service was fast. The line moved quick and the servers spoke English. Lots of different foods to choose. Mostly traditional Latvian. There was meal deal for lunch at the good value of 3Eur only. They had highchairs for kids and a little corner with books and few toys for little ones. If you want to have your meal quick and cheap and you like Latvian food this is a place for you. Tastes like home cooked meal.

We had just visited the palace and were hungry when we came upon Kafejnica Ziedini. I loved the outside, looked so quaint and inviting. The server, however, was not overly friendly. At times we felt as if we were a bother. There was one other table occupied when we arrived but they were finishing up so they were not busy. I ordered a ham and cheese omelet that tasted fine but, for me, could have been cooked a bit longer. My husband had the grilled chicken skewers and fries and he said it was pretty good. Not sure they actually cook everything there, seemed like that might have been frozen and heated up but my apologies if I am incorrect there.
We did ask to visit the facilities before we left and ugh....not clean and not even a lid on the toilet tank! That was a little rough and there were no paper towels or hand dryers...they had a regular cotton towel like you would have at home just hanging on a hook. Ugh again. Thankful I carry Wet Ones wipes with me for times like this!
