A night out with friends could have taken a turn for worse if we had taken the waitress bad service personally (out of several others during the evening, this was her "pearl of wisdom" when asked what she reccomended to us while handing out the menus: "I reccomend you read the menu" - no, it wasn't said in a funny or cheerful way, it was more along the lines of "read the goddamn menu and don't bother me"), however we decided to just plain ignore her and dedicated ourselves instead to enjoy the good food, drinks and atmosphere. It's pricey, but quality is quite good.

Nothing genius here, but good traditional honest food. Service was nice, food was tasty. It's the kind of place where you know you get a good plate of food, with no shenanigans.

Very popular among locals, the restaurant has a wine shop next door and a bar with tapas on the other side. We found our service excellent, the wines delicious (and the waiters very knowledgable about them. Our Grilled sea bass was absolutely delicious as were the potatoes and tomatoes that went with it - though the local veggie dish with cornbread (?) was not to our taste!

Restaurant Vintage is the ideal place if your looking for good food with a good service and a fair price. The Restaurant has a magnificient view over the Batalha Monastery, making your meal an unforgettable moment in the perfect scenery. During summer, we offer you our Terrace where you may enjoy peace and serenity, either for lunch, dinner, a snack or for a drink at the end of the day. A selection of tradicional Portuguese dishes and a good selection of fine wines. Besides the À la Carte menu, a daily menu is prepared every day at lunch with a fixed price. Good vale for money and a opportunity to taste the portuguese home made flavours. The Restaurante Vintage is a part of the 4 star Hotel, Mestre Afonso Domingues. Private parking is available as well.
We loved the food here, even though we were a little nervous about getting grilled fish, in case the 'catch of the day' was not to our liking. Service is wonderful and wine list perfectly fine for a hot summers day. Sitting outside means you have a view of the extraordinary Monastery of Batalha, which is lit up perfectly at night and invites a post-dinner walk around.

We just "bumped" into this restaurant for lunch travelling by car from Fátima to Batalha.
We weren't expecting much but had a pleasant surprise. The service is very cordial with the head waiter (possibly also manager) interacting very positively with the customers.
The prices are good for foreigners, possibly on the expensive side for Portuguese salaries. The food is very good Portuguese cuisine. I recommend the grilled octopus with baked potatoes (with their skin) and sautéed Portuguese cabbage, beans and farmer's bread (migas) - very very good. Or the baked stockfish with potatoes and prawn cream.

Strong on pizzas and pastas, but they also have other options.
Our pastas were tasty and not the sort of a-couple-of-spaghetti-strands-on-your-plate. Good, quick service; good prices, too. I'd recommend it if you're in the area and not in the mood for the more "regional" kind of things.

You can visit the "Mosteiro do Leitao" restaurant in Batalha located in IC2. This gastronomic reference restaurant specializes piglet roast fired respecting all the traditional procedures. You can also eat other dishes such as fresh sea fish, meat loaf in stone, octopus of "Lagareiro" among other suggestions. The experience and quality make this restaurant one gastronomic reference in the region,we invite every traveler to visit this restaurant and prove our delight.
Mosterio do Leitao is something atypical of regional Portuguese restaurants in that the primary dish is so earthy (though not inexpensively so). Baby sucking pig is the primary specialty here and it goes for double the price of an older larger relative. Our host paid over E100 for a pick up immediately boxed one with trimmings that primarily served ten of us with generous leftovers for six the next day over lunch.
While ordering and then four days later at pickup,I was struck by the surrounding ambiance, one normally more conducive to prime ribs and lobster than bony finger pork, but this establishment is very well reputed both locally and beyond. They've carved out a niche along with their signature and other offerings. The sides. alternate entree menu and buffet table had some very attractions options as well.
The tasting party at our hosts' lovely home table was excellent, though the suckling pig was perhaps a tad too salty for some palates, myself included. I imagine - since they are cooked only to order - that problem can be completely neutralized easily by request.
All in ally most memorable experience. One of those typical of a, "Rememer the time when?" ilk.

I am so glad I have Portuguese relatives that know where to go. This was a great little place that only offered 5 or 6 lunch specials per day, but there was always something for everyone. Big portions, and great pricing. I wound up going back there a second time during my two week stay, and if I ever revisit Portugal I will be going back

Stopped here on our back to Lisbon and we were pleasantly surprised will the feel of the restaurant both outside and inside. The food was really good but some of the dishes were on the expensive side for the area. I highly recommend going for the plates of the day as they were both really good. There is parking inside so try that before parking on the street. The house house wine was also very good.
