Normally, one wouldn’t equate "relaxing spa vacation" with "hanging out near an active volcano," but if you’re up for something more exotic than facials and massages, Banos might be the perfect place for you. The thermal mineral pools here are heated by the volcano, and while there are several, offering different amenities, the easiest one to visit is Las Piscinas de la Virgen. Banos also has plenty of outdoor activities, like rafting and biking on scenic paths.

As we are not particularly big eaters at lunch time we wanted somewhere that wasn't just sandwiches, which see you in most places, and we saw that this place offered Guacamole & Nachos etc PLUS a mega special deal on large bottles of beer.
We had the Guacamole plus an egg salad and 2 beers. A perfect size ensuring we had room for a dinner later that night.

This restaurant was recommended by our guide and after walking the busy little town of Baños, having a beer, we took him up on his recommendation.
The restaurant did not disappoint. It was quite an eclectic assortment of dishes from all over the world- falafels, Thai, Indonesian. Not a huge assortment but very interesting and all good.
Very recommended.
Inexpensive for quality.

Mariane's is one of the golden oldies in Baños and serves good, mediteranean food. French cuisine so to speak. The food is always good, but so are the prices. It is quite a bit more expensive than similar places in Baños. Nevertheless, for a quiet meal in a nice garden with good service and fresh ingredients, Mariane is the place

We are an eclectic art cafe featuring excellent coffee and an extensive menu of food from around the world including pasta dishes, fresh trout, curries, Mexican dishes, fresh juices and smoothies and delicious desserts. The space is a comfortable place to kick back and relax, with a lending library and fireplace. Open from noon to 10:15 pm, 7 days a week.
I stopped by here twice in January 2018 during my stay in Banos. Each time, I found the wait staff overwhelmed and generally unhelpful. The food was uninspiring, and the prices were high. In general, I think there are better options in Banos.

The meat was excelent but the fish was not very good and with lots of bones. We were a group and that was the common thinking about what we had. The soup was very goodThank you for your comment. Yes, our trouts have bones... we serve them like we fish them out of the montain river Runtún near Baños, entire, natural, tasty & authentic. Enjoy your stay in Ecuador.

La Tasca is the first Spanish restaurant in Baños, where you can enjoy delicious paella or an excellent choice of tapas, all with an authentic Spanish flavor. You will be served by the owners in a good atmosphere.
After travelling 17 days in Spain, my wife and I frequently ate tapas all over Spain. We became addicted. When I found out there was an authentic tapas restaurant in Banos, I had to check it out. I met the owner, Spanish born and bred....MoreThank You very much for your wonderful opinion. Sorry that I didn’t answer it before, but I wasn’t unable to enter in my Tripadvisor account. Regards.

We spent 3 days in Baños and this was our last meal. Delicious food! Fish n chips with cheese fries and goat cheese cole slaw and the shrimp po boy Sandwich paired with locals brews. Amazing menu, tasty American style food and the guy that runs the place is super cool. Would have definitely eaten here more than once if i would have known about it! Not sure why this place isn't top 5 in Baños!
