Popped in for an easy dinner following an appointment in Balmain. Very impressed with the quality of the food and the strong menu. Good service - just enough - available but not annoying. The restaurant is well appointed with plenty of double and quad tables and a big long share table down the middle.
Will go back again and take it all in with a bit more time to further explore the menu.

Traditional Italian Pizzeria
Fantastic, authentic pizza. This place is well worth the visit. The pizzas are delivered to your table super quick, super hot and super delicious. It is complete organised chaos, the hectic pace and the Italian waiters and chefs just add to the drama. Make sure you book.

Welcome to La Renaissance! We are one of Sydney's oldest family-owned French patisseries, and the first in the Southern Hemisphere to be awarded the prestigious Relais Desserts status with our head chef and co-owner Jean Michel Raynaud. Each morning we serving fresh buttery pastries, hot coffee & tea, juice, savouries and cakes every day. A great place to recharge and relax if you're new to Sydney and exploring Circular Quay and The Rocks, or a favourite for locals. Our best-selling items include almond croissants and the Monet, a white chocolate mousse cake with lychee jelly, raspberries and coconut base. Cult favourite, the ham and cheese croissant, sells out daily as well, with a shredded ham & cheese bechamel inside and on top of the croissant. Baked until crisp but still a little soft inside... we say yes please!
Walking back to our hotel after our ferry from Manly docked at Circular Quay, we diverted off George Street, and walked up Argyle. So glad we did, as in our exploration of the Rocks had shown, there is always another surprise....this time one of the best bun shops in the world. Having chosen our sweet and savoury snacks we sat in the shade of the rear garden, enjoying our snacks, and flat white coffee and tea served in a strainer. Lush!

Efendy means gentleman in old Turkish, but everyone is welcome here. Located on the corner of Darling and Elliott Streets, in a historic sandstone Victorian mansion, Efendy is a modern Turkish restaurant, complete with a basement bar, run by Istanbul-born owner and chef Somer Sivrioglu. The popular restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, offering authentic Turkish delicacies, using local and sustainable produce, prepared meze style for sharing. Lounge and chat in the dining area, where the walls are covered in Turkish comic book posters, while you graze away on meze which includes baba ghanoush topped with pomegranate or gobsmackingly good, ordek borek, duck, barberries and cinnamon in thin crisp pastry.
Efendy located at 79 Elliott Street, Balmain. NSW Australia. The ambiance was delightful, set in a renovated 2-storey Victorian house, Efendy serves up delicious and hearty Turkish cuisine. With a cosy upper lounge area, and alfresco Seating on ground level! The menu has a wide variety of food, the food that we ordered was soooooo delicious, Such as Smoked Eggplants, Humus, Pastrami, Prawns, Fish Borek, Bomonti and off course Lavish bread, the presentation of the food was beautiful, But for me, the one that stood out was the Lamb Shoulder Tandir, cooked to perfection, it was to die for. Honestly I am speechless about this place... the food was absolutely AMAZING. From the staters to main to the dessert.
Overall nice atmosphere, and nice food relatively inexpensive. Service Wow! What a great service particularly Gizem our waitress, welcoming smile, warm and friendly attitude. The other staff were also very hospitable. They presented flawless service, friendly and professional. The attentiveness and enthusiasm of the service made an enjoyable, lunch
Great place for a real Turkish cuisine. Definitely must try if you are in the mood for, Middle Eastern, Mediterranean flavours. I love it that much, I will definitely come back very soooon next time I am in Sydney.

Marco and his team do a great job in consistently serving tasty meals always well presented. We sometimes use the upstairs for bookclub which is quieter. The staff are very attentive and service oriented. I don't think I have been disappointed from any of my visits to our place.

Here on a saturday night alone. Decor ordinary but nice to see white starch tablecloths. Caters to mainly a local crowd who seem to enjoy themselves. Quite rowdy. Started with a Khas Kebab. The pieces were very big and the dressing of tomato and cucumber looked very tired. I ate 3 of the 4 kebabs which were served with a very tasty mint sauce. For the main I chose a Chiclen Vindahloo which was tasty enough. Quite pricey and apart from not being offered water all evening, the service was good.

Established in 2012, The Cottage Bar & Kitchen feels like grandma’s farmhouse, with a mismatch of kitsch and vintage furniture and a unique courtyard, the perfect urban oasis for a tipple. 2017 see’s Head Chef Adam McCaughey join the team, bringing with him a wealth of experience & culinary prowess having mastered his craft at venues such as Attica, Rockpool 1989 as well as Noma Australia.
My partner had eaten here five years ago and booked us in for a meal. The choice is somewhat limited and quite pricey. The portions are minute and overcooked, though I found them quite tasty (my partner did not). Worst place I eaten in Sydney. Certainly can't recommend The Cottage.

We were welcomed into the amazing space by each member of a team looking after our table and we felt comfortable (and impressed) from the moment we walked in. The sommelier and waiters knew their stuff and gave excellent recommendations with patience and a sense of humour. We chose each course from the Chef's menu and were not disappointed with any of our selections. The atmosphere and experience in general (on top of the fact that we were celebrating a business milestone) made for a perfect and memorable evening. Would recommend for anyone looking for a special dining experience in Sydney. Booking online was easy too.
