"This superb Michelin-starred restaurant is located in a former hunting lodge nestled on the edge of the Andaine forest. Le Manoir du Lys is a stylish, family-run hotel providing guests with an idyllic escape from city living, and Head Chef Franck Quinton is renowned for his acclaimed French menu. The dining room at Le Manoir du Lys – with its exposed stone walls and contemporary colour scheme, is always filled with foodies flocking from far and wide to taste Quinton's innovative cuisine. Combining regional flavours and forest produce with gastronomic flair, Quinton has forged a stellar reputation with dishes such as white asparagus served with wild mushrooms, morels and a Marans egg, and foie gras served with truffle soup.<br><br>"
We live in the area but it's been several years since we last visited the restaurant at Le Manoir du Lys. We don't dine out at Michelin 2-Star restaurants on a regular basis! On this occasion we were celebrating my wife's birthday All aspects of...MoreThank you very much, we appreciated a lot your comment. Hope to see you again. All the best.

We booked a table here as the restaurant in our nearby hotel was closed on the Sunday evening. We were delighted to try it out, as it was excellent! Especially for a hotel restaurant.
We selected a fish and meat dish from their special menus for mains and finished with local cheeses. Everything was delicious!
Beautifully cooked and presented.
The service was excellent throughout! Attentive, polite and professional, but never intrusive.
Would certainly visit again the next time we stay in Bagnoles!

We had a set menu meal one Saturday night and were most pleasantly surprised as the hotel has (fairly recently) been refurbished. It's part of an hotel but the restaurant has an elegant, yet intimate feel, so one doesn't feel like an outsider. Very popular and with reason. The food is beautifully presented - quite a work of art and varied menu. Only been a couple of times but each time not disappointed so it's on our 'reliable' list. It's nice to dress up for an occasion and this restaurant supplies the reason. Lovely food, lovely setting.

We booked a table for Saturday 15 August, Assumption Day, a French public holiday, as there would be a fireworks display in the town.
The lady who served us was exemplary, and managed to cope with a full restaurant, on a very busy night, all on her own. However, because of the shortage of staff, there was a huge delay between each course. We started with aperitifs. She then took our order for 6 adults and a toddler and knew exactly who had ordered what each time.
We opted for the pizzas, which we all enjoyed, as they were freshly cooked. Then we couldn't resist the desserts which were massive.
All in all, an enjoyable evening, with lovely food. Well worth a visit, but not on a public holiday unless you are prepared for the wait.

Restoring " the nice time " traditional cooking Menu in the course of season, menu of the country.
The park containing the chateau and the Roc high above Bagnoles town centre is worth a visit, but the chateau is now the town hall and can't be entered. The Roc claims to give an overview of the the town but is surrounded by trees which heavily restrict the view.

Having stayed here before, this time we brought friends with us for a three-day stay at the end of our holiday in France. We were delighted to enjoy a good break in this beautiful spa town in Normandy. The O Gayot hotel is within walking distance of the centre and is a small hotel with comfortable bedrooms in a beautiful building. The diningroom which has an open kitchen is furnished in a modern style, offering really good food with an excellent choice of wines both by the glass and bottle at reasonable prices. There is an adjoining bar area and sitting area in which it is possible to have tasty snacks from the adjoining small deli (which is a treat to browse). Outside, there is a nice shady Terrace where it is possible to eat, if the weather is fine. It seems to be a very popular place to eat, so booking would be advised at busy times.

Everything about this restaurant comes back to the view across the lake which is worth seeing on it,s own.
The style is modern ,the food is presented well and the menu is also modern.Unfortunately the steak I chose was inedible (quite literally) I think some Casinos try too hard to present such good value to get you to gamble (ie 3 courses for 19.95) that they skimp on the actual ingredients
However the rest of the meal was really good and I hope the steak was a one -off.
I will return as the view alone was worth a second chance

This is a great restaurant. The atmosphere, the food, the service were all great. The owner/manager even came out to greet us and ensure our meals were satisfactory. Our waiter was not very fluent in English and our French was minimal however he went out of his way to ensure everything was to our satisfaction, something I have rarely seen in restaurants in France. I would highly recommend this restaurant. Try the Moelleux Au Chocolat, WOW!

Lunchtime visit in early July. Only half full but took an age to place an order. Although there were three (occasionally 4) people waiting on table only the male appeared able to take an order.
The food was of a poor standard on the 4 dishes we had. These were taken from the pick & mix menu (starter or main or dessert or any 2 from 3). Our starters were pretty basic and uniformly taseless, despite their enticing descriptions. One pudding dish described in English as a peach/appricot baked in a dish turned out to be Clafoutis...was not that nice being only partially cook.
Sometimes the French menu is more informative than their English translation..
The piece of steak and chips turned out to be a Pave de Bouef, sauce bearnaise avec des frites. Pave nice, sauce very poor and the frites thin and soggy (kept for a while rather than freshly cooked).
We were slightly overcharged on the meal and although we have eaten here before but will not be coming back.....unless things improve.
