Baeza (Spanish pronunciation: [baˈeθa]), formerly also written as Baéza, is an Andalusian town in the province of Jaén in southern Spain. It lies perched on a cliff in the Loma de Úbeda, the range separating the Guadalquivir River to its south from the Guadalimar to its north. It is now principally famed for having some of the best-preserved examples of Italian Renaissance architecture in Spain. Along with Úbeda, it was added to UNESCO's list of World Heritage Sites in 2003. The former Visigothic bishopric of Baeza remains a Latin Catholic titular see.

Very nice restaurant with great food. The staff friendly and helpful. all four of us ate goat leg. Fantastic well prepared and tasty. The wine Emilo Moro, amazing for its price. Unfortunately, only four of us in the restaurant, but with the bad times we have in Spain, it can become so. Most tourists are Spaniards, with 25% unemployment, it may not be much sewing over to restaurant visits. One place worth visiting. The spansa king and queen have been there several times.

Stopped here for lunch on our first day. No one understood english but there was an english version of the menu. Ordered 2 platters one of pate and cheese and one of cold-smoked meats--tabla de ahumados. Pate and cheese delicious, meats turned out to be fish! Waitress did not speak english but seemed to be indicating that smoked meat meant fish. She took the plate away and then repeatedly ignored us as we tried to choose something else. Eventually we asked for the first dish to be returned but she refused. Only good thing was bill was accurate. Do not eat here unless you speak fluent spanish.

What a great little bat in our hotel, very popular with hotel guests and locals alike, sat in the middle of the old town UNESCO heritage site gives this place a special ambiance, inside its modern clean well laid out, it's very reasonable prices considering it's a hotel, but that common in Andalucia. The Award winning tapas menu is a must nothing better than a few drinks and selecting tapas then more drink and more tapas the selection and quality is super very good food, a must visit if in the area. Word of warning if you are not staying at the hotel park in the town cars not allowed in old town unless authorised

We plumped for this restaurant from a few others in its vicinity because it seemed to particularly popular with the locals. It is on what seems to Baeza's main commercial street - just down the hill and around the corner from the Cathedral.
Los Arcos lived up to its promise: we chose soups (garlic and seafood), as well as having a glass of wine and then a coffee. Complimentary tapas of olives, and bread with pressed chicken and cheese appeared on the table as we ate. A light lunch suddenly weighed a little heavier, though we were certainly not complaining.

Local interior with tables and bar, decorated modern style with several slates Taberna reporting the daily specials, outdoor Terrace with tables and comfortable chairs, the nerve center of the city, open from March 15 to November 1. Large selection of Spanish wines, whites and reds with various denominations of Origin
I was taken here by a group of colleagues on a quiet weekday evening. The venue itself is very low key, simple surroundings, no music, no video. All effort is saved for the food and wine which is outstanding and not expensive. We left the restaurant groaning from excess - but with 2 bottles of wine the total bill with tip was still only 25 euros per person. The cheese and cold meats were outstanding as was the tiramisu. Highly recommended if you like good food served without pretension.

Bar opposite the viewpoint of the Cruz Baqueta in Baeza. We have a very select bar snack and a great wine list.
In this typical Spanish restaurant, you will find hardly any tourists. From their Terrace you will have a beautiful view over the valley.
We had a wonderful dinner here, especially the toasted goat cheese with honey is great and we also liked the solomillo with Pedro Ximenez sauce very much.
Price quality is way better than on Plaza España!
If we would stay longer in Baeza, we would go back here!

Palacio de Gallego is a restaurant and boutique located in the historical center of Baeza, a few meters from the Cathedral, where you can enjoy throughout the day, a varied menu, including grilled meats, various dishes, fine wines, coffee or drinks in a unique place with a unique atmosphere.
It's a gorgeous setting in an historic building, but a lack of consistency added up to our poorest meal during nearly three weeks travelling in Andalucia. It started off brilliantly, with a melt in the mouth beef carpaccio and a simple tomato salad, even though the proferred single bread roll was heavy and hard. A barbecue veal steak was fair enough but the baked potato that accompanied it would have disgraced any London caff - hard, lukewarm, a poor effort. It was quickly replaced with a selection of grilled vegetables - so quickly that you might think that sub-standard jackets are not exactly a rare occurrence. Confit of duck across the table had almost as much blood as the veal - and that's not how anyone expects to be served a confit dish, which came with an uninspiring mush of vegetables. A disappointment - we found much better food with much less fuss in the town centre.

We stopped there for a relaxing beer and tapas after a meal elsewhere: the Terrace seemed ideally placed to watch the parade.
In little time, the place was bursting at the seams and the staff were almost swamped. We had a lot of time to kill so we ordered a plate of iberico ham: that had obviously been prepared in advance and the ham was 'sweaty' (35°+/- outside). Later we asked for some battered squid and that was fine. Still, a bill for over €40 for so little was slightly OTT, we felt, even on a festive night...

I went with some friends to visit this amazing city and we found this café. The place is located right next to Plaza de los Leones, a square from the XVI century. The place is decorated with an exquisite taste, the coffee was just amazing but its cakes were just awesome. I deeply recommend to try Virolos, its speciality that has made this family famous around the region.
