Kitschy atmosphere with some wonderful BBQ served up. A party of four and split two entrees. The special was a 3 item pork combo that easily fed two. At only $12.99 and for the quality of entree and side items, this place could not be beat.

Voted by GQ Magazine as “top 25 anti-restaurants”. Known for our famous open flame grilled oysters that come straight from boat to table!
And we are back for our yearly visit, at least one per year, to Gilhooley's. Excellent oysters. This time we had them topped with shrimp. Love this place. Down home with friendly service and relaxed "dive joint" atmosphere. We come at off hours when the place is quiet, mostly locals surrounding the bar. I heard they changed ownership but you can't tell, same big portions, same yummy food. Still not kid friendly at night. If we lived in the area, we would be regulars.

Don't miss this great breakfast spot. Super food and coffee and friendly service. Long time owners go out of the way to greet customers.

Went for dinner on a Saturday night to the new location. It was very busy that evening, but our wait was maybe 20 minutes. Very good food, mainly hamburgers, but also have some other sandwiches on the menu. I ordered the basic hamburger and my husband got the cheeseburger, we split on order of half tater tots and fries. We also got the friend mushrooms. The mushrooms were very good, served pipping hot. The burgers are a good size, with a nice soft bun. Mine tasted a bit salty, but still very good. The fries are not all that good, over baked and no flavor. Wish I had tried the onion rings instead. The tater tots were OK, but nothing to rave about. Serves was very good, and prices reasonable. If you are wanting a decent hamburger in a fun location this is the place. Only steps away from the boardwalk. Go early as the place get crowded and the area is full of good restaurants so the parking is a problem.

This was the second time I visited. The first time it was okay, but nothing special. I thought the price was fair for the unique setting and novelty of sweet or savory waffles. The second time I went back, the dough was undercooked and gummy inside. I went as an option to Dairy Queen for a sweet treat. I don’t plan on going back. It is just a few blocks from the house, so I could have become a regular customer. Service is just okay. Staff seems to be more interested in each other than the customers.

Had lunch with a friend here a week ago. They have a number of quite interesting things on their menu, including a number of different burgers. I don't remember the name of the burger I ordered but I think it had bacon meat ground up in with the beef, plus fries. The burger was pretty dry, with no special flavor or anything to recommend it. The fries were quite good, but did not come with the burger--you had to order them separately. Also had a couple of cold Dos XX. I think overall this place is overrated, and not cheap...just average.

Fell in love with this place over 9 years ago. Built a home less than 2 miles away in a new subdivision almost 5 1/2 years ago. Come here often. Live music, karaoke, homemade desserts, great selection of food. Awesome seafood. I hear the oysters are awesome. The gumbo beat any gumbo we tasted at the gumbo fest in Galveston. Right on the water, upstairs or downstairs outside seating as well as inside seating. Special room for events. Atmosphere is fantastic.

On the corner of the canal and Oak Road which is the main entrance to Clear Lake Shores just before the bridge into Clear Lake Shores, a small community on the lake.
This was my wife's birthday dinner that we had on a recent Saturday. We got an early reservation and since there were nine of us, we were seated upstairs. Our waiter was attentive, professional and wasn't fazed by our three restless grand-kids. We did the surf and turf, fish several different ways along with appetizers and mixed drinks. All were excellent. As the evening wore on, this place got crowded and noisy so dine early for a quieter experience. Prices tend to be a little high but the quality is there. Will return for the next special occasion.

Came here with family, our first time, family comes often. We were seated by the window. The atmosphere is friendly, business casual with a few exceptions keeping it from being beach casual. Waitstaff are attentive and let you know up front, food is cooked to...MoreThank you for your review. We appreciate your business and look forward to you coming back!

Quick service. Excellent iced tea. Good green creamy dip, but a little bland. Mighty fine chips. Red salsa tasted like cilantro. I want salsa to taste like tomatoes and Serranos. Too much danged cilantro in the salsa. Was the dominant flavor.
Ordered green chicken enchiladas. I don't eat rice (but I do enjoy good Mexican rice once in a while) so I ordered refried beans and charro beans.
Tomatillo sauce was all cilantro flavor. I want my tomatillo sauce to taste like tomatillos, serranos, onion and a little bit of cilantro. White cheese on the enchiladas was so chewy and stringy that I couldn't eat it. Otherwise, the enchiladas were great.
Charro beans were perfect. Delicious. Refried beans were contaminated with comino. I want my refried beans to stay like beans, not comino. Put the comino in brown enchilada gravy and chili con carne, where it belongs. Don't ruin the beans.
Seems like a disturbing trend all this cilantro and comino abuse. I'm about to give up on Mexican food because of it.
