Aswan is more idyllic than other cities in Egypt—located in southern Egypt, it’s a great place to explore that country’s epic history far away from the chaos of Cairo. Take a traditional wooden felucca around Elephantine Island and explore the ruins of the Temple of Khnum. This should be one of the best dinning experiences in Aswan - fabulous view from historic Terrace. Unfortunately the cooking is just plain awful, and then it is also expensive ... take the boat to the island 50m away to the Nubian restaurant ... food is much better at a fraction of the price

We stopped here for lunch. The views along the Nile River were beautiful. The food was delicious and the hospitality of the staff was incredible. I had the Indian Chicken Curry Tagine and it was great. If you are looking for a friendly place with good food, I recommend.

It is a nice place but dinner was disappointment. It's more a cafeteria than a restaurant and you could see it since the beginning, none of the locals eating but drinking tea and smoking shishas. It's more a meeting place for them, for the fresh kids in town. Which is nice too, I love to experience this when I travel. Service kind of sucks, it is indeed very slow. Place is nice! come in for a juice and a nice place to hang, maybe. mayyyybe a snack.

The best value restaurant in town. Take the short boat trip across the Nile. Find a seat on the large benches in the packed restaurant. Enjoy the simple but good meals. Fish, chicken (really recommended) and beef with rice and salad. Look out on the Nile. Enjoyed our dinner experience so much that we sailed back for lunch the next day. The experience was different and really enjoyable.

We found this restaurant in the lonely planet Egypt book and it would be a shame for people to miss out on it, because it isn't listed on tripadvisor.
The restaurant is tourist friendly. Staff is super helpful and responsive. They even have a set menu for vegetarians (please do not expect much variety for vegetarians): the soup, salad, and starters were great! The non vegetarian main course was amazing (mix grill recommended) Must visit for Authentic Egyptian food and warm service, at a very reasonable price.

Great food! It's fun to take a boat over to this location, directly across from the Cataract Hotel. The food was very tasty and the staff was very attentive. Friends had the mixed grill and enjoyed it very much. I had the chicken shish taouk with fries and I couldn't have been happier. The rice was mediocre and avoid the guy who tries to sell you trinkets and souvenirs. Not only are his prices outrageous, but he's rude.

Situated on the 13th floor of the Movenpick hotel on Elephantine Island. There is a free ferry service from the Corniche to the Island. The prices are very reasonable (LE75 for pasta, LE180 for steak) I had the Penne Arrabiata (spicy) which was superb and for for LE75 was a great price and apple pie with ice cream for dessert (only LE55). There are views on all 4 sides, Aswan, Elephantine Island, Kitchener's Island and the Nile, Kitchener's Island is also lit up at night. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Opening hours are 6pm to 10.30pm

Near the Station in Aswan, round the corner from the celebrated Chef Khalil restaurant
The journey to the restaurant is colourful to start! Food is delicious and reasonably priced. We had the mixed grilled platter with lamb and meat shish Kevin and the breaded chicken. I would recommend ordering tahini for the chicken and yogurt for the lamb and kebob. Service is friendly, food comes quickly. A great option for a quick lunch or dinner. Place is busy so you may have to wait for a table. Would have loved to go back if we had more time.

Uninspired cooking, but it didn't make us sick. Have a small, but nice salad bar. Had grilled, rather flavorless fish. I suspect that this is predominantly visited by tourists. As always try to order off the menu versus what your tour allows you to get. That way you can try different things while getting a credit for the standard meal.

Located in front of the train station, Biti Pizza has pizza, but even better has delicious Egyptian fiteer, a pizza-like Egyptian dish that can be sweet or savory. Bibo, a charming young man, speaks English. Fom the 2nd floor you can watch the square in front of the train statioin
Good value egyptian fiteer pizza in a restaurant overlooking the busy square by the train station. Italian pizza also available but not as good as the egyptian. No alcohol. Charming staff who posed for photos as we left. We will definitely return.
