旭川といえば醤油ラーメンというイメージですが、みそらーめんならぜひここに。懐かしい正統派の味噌ラーメンといった感じで、具材はひき肉ともやしを炒めて麺の上に。しみじみ美味しいと感じる味です。

This place is relatively easy to find - located within short walking distance from JR Asahikawa and opposite Courts Asahikawa.
The waiteress (a foreigner) speaks good english and could offer us food recommendation. Their shio ramen, tamago and gyoza are very good!
We are there around noon time, and they offer free serving of japanese rice and prickles.

We came here to try the local craft beer. Beers tasted good, the tasting set allows you to try 5 different types, and we were treated to a complimentary house beer whilst enjoying the tasting set. Staff were friendly. There is a stage in the corner, so it is possible there might be some live music later in the evening too.

This is one of the "oldest" Ramen restaurants in Asahikawa. Although this is not the main branch, we did have a try.
The soup of the ramen was not as oily/ salty as other ramen we ate in Hokkaido. However, we didn't like the taste of the soup as it just tasted like something burnt...The pork was absolutely not fatty so you can image how tough it was.

We went to two branches of this excellent restaurant, the other being in Minami Higashi. It was worth the long wait to get seats. Best to order straight from the menu rather than taking from the conveyor belt. For this quality sushi the price is very reasonable.

Filled with locals and travellers. Staff are kind and service is good. The taste is not bad but a bit salty. Away from Asahikawa station so it might be hard to go by bus.

We were there to have our lunch before we start to visit Ueno Farm and we enjoyed the dessert so much that we told the staff we will come back for our second round of dessert after we spend our time in the garden. The Desserts were really good!

I had no idea what hormon was, and as a beer snack I thought it was pretty good. But it's not for those that don't like innards (my wife was unimpressed). It's a fun, smokey local's place to drink and eat bits of animal that usually are put in sausages.
