La Bimba Restaurant specialises in utilising seasonal produce from the Otways region and creating dishes influenced by Moorish cuisine. During the day the restaurant is known for its premium coffee and a more relaxed style of cafe dining, with spectacular ocean views and friendly service. La Bimba during the evening is a more sophisticated dining experience providing a bright, warm and friendly ambiance, whilst offering knowledgeable and professional hospitality. Providing a sustainable menu and promoting local producers and the Otway region is of very high importance for La Bimba.
Four of us dined at La Bimba on the first night in Apollo Bay. We shared the paella and sole (flounder). Both prepared exquisitely. As we left we agreed the meal was so good, we had to go back for night 2, which we did. On this night we shared a very large (1 kilo) rib eye steak, the duck and the cauliflower special. At the end of night 2, it was clear, this is a very special restaurant and not to be missed if you are staying in Apollo Bay. Wonderful.

Accommodation is available and a function room is also available for hire. We cater for large groups (including tour groups). Please contact us for more information.
We will never return. My wife’s pasta meal was bland, under cooked, lacking flavour, looked like it was purchased from local supermarket. My Parma was over cooked greasy covered with burnt cheese. Chips were soaking in oil looked like they had been reheated in hot oil. We didn’t finish our meals and complained to waiter.
We wasted $50 very disappointed Apollo Bay Hotel !!

We were really looking forward to dining at this restaurant when staying in Apollo Bay but were quite disappointed. The view is nice, service quiet good, but the menu is lacks pizzazz and is somewhat limited. Coming from Melbourne we are accustomed to a higher standard of food for the price paid, maybe we were expecting too much for our dollar. Our dinner was pleasant but I wouldn’t rush back or recommend highly.

Ate here for dinner and was pleasantly surprised. Restaurant is a quaint and quiet little place with a bit of spunk. Staff were friendly and attentive. Food was delicious, recommend you try the scallops for entree, beautiful. I had fish and chips, fish was light and tasty, chips and salad great. Hubby had linguine but it was a little bland. Plenty of seafood but lacked some spark. For sweets, we had the passion fruit panacotta and loukomades, both lovely and a great way to finish. Overall a nice little dinner and would go back again.

Had THE BEST fish, calamari and chips I’ve ever had. Our son had the souvlaki and loved it (it looked delicious). The cafe is pristinely clean, the service impeccable and the quality is 5 Star. They told us the calamari had been caught this morning - you can never be sure about that but what I can say is that it melted in your mouth. Absolutely delicious. Happy to go there again during our 2 day visit to Apollo Bay

The lunch meal menu did not appeal to me, so my option was best of available options.
We were served in small plastic containers and disposable forks. The chilled potatoes surprisingly were better than their appearance . My entree was titled "chicken"; but there was not more than a tablespoon of chicken in the wrapped pastry. The salad did not have any dressing and was not consumed due to being so dry and strong flavored lettuce.

This place takes you back to the 1950s. Very old-fashioned inside, lots of dark wood and flamingo wallpaper. Very dark. However service, food and wine reasonable. Came highly recommended by our b&b so is obviously held in some respect by the local community.
We enjoyed our meal.

My wife & I were unsure on where to eat for our 1 and only night staying in Apollo Bay, decided to give Dragon Bay inn a try. Very glad we did, The service was great along with loads of food selection. We had steamed prawn dumplings and pork spring rolls followed by satay beef and chicken cashew. BYO wine, $5 corkage.
Great value restaurant.
