Although the food was amazing the workers weren’t. The hostess turned away multiple families before us even though there were many empty tables. We listened to her come up with a different excuse for each family. She was overly flustered with everyone. They were one of the few places open on mondays so we waited for a table.

The best chocolate, ice cream and cookies in town. We love to stop here and if we visit with our dog we are allowed to dine outside with him. Their chocolate chip cookies are to die for!!

I enjoy eating breakfast at Dolores's Sweet Shoppe. I order the combination of Fried eggs, Grits, bacon or Sausage and toast. Breakfast at Dolores's Sweet Shoppe is very good and affordable. Dolores's Sweet Shoppe is located in a house that still has the original wooden trim with out any paint. It is so nice to see the real wooden grain and not the white paint. Dolores's Sweet Shoppe is a must see for a great Breakfast and Historical Home construction.

We were visiting St George Island for a long weekend to celebrate my wife’s birthday, and I was looking for a nice place to take her for dinner. A friend recommended Up The Stairs and I am glad she did! It is very quaint overlooking the Main Street of Apalachicola with both inside and outside seating. It has a full bar and a nice selection of beer and wine.
The menu is varied with a little bit of everything except believe it or not, oysters! I had to do a double take being this restaurant is in what I consider the oyster capital of the world; but I guess the figure every other restaurant in town does oysters, so why should they? They certainly don’t need them. My wife started out with the curry pot and I had the gumbo. Both were awesome! We had a couple of their specialty martinis. An Up The Pears for my wife and an Espresso one for me. Both were delicious and very alcohol friendly ;)
We ordered a bottle of Freakshow Cabernet to go with our main course and I must say it was very reasonably priced. My wife ordered the lamb chops which were cooked to perfection and was like 8 good sized chops. I had the veal piccata which was excellent! We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals.
I highly recommend making reservations, especially on the weekends. Also, this is not a place for children as they require you to be 21 or older to enter.

Tel number 850-653-2606. Also listed in the Franklin County visitor guide.
I like to go here often for their Blue Bell ice cream cone (Dutch chocolate for me). This place is frequently found by tourists as they walk around Market Street. Great place to stop, especially on a hot day. While you are there they have lots of fun and inexpensive beach stuff for sale.

Come on in and get some oysters or seafood gumbo. Awesome bush puppies. The best part is the owner staff commentary dynamic. A bar with food, oyster shucked right in front of you.

Lovely service and atmosphere, amazing beer selection and mind blowing food. We ate there twice, the only place in the whole of the USA we returned to. Fresh oysters, juicy burgers and alligator sausage were some of the many highlights. Prices are extremely reasonable, and during happy hour from 4-6.30,they're an absolute giveaway! A wonderful establishment.

This is your basic clam shack, but elevated, literally! The location overlooking the marshes of the Apalachicola River is beautiful and relaxing. We appreciated the option to sit inside, outside on a screened porch, or outside on a deck. The binoculars on the table available for spotting wildlife were a nice touch. We were only here for the oysters and clams, and we enjoyed both. The selection of beers, especially offerings from Oyster City Brewing Company, was a nice treat. Service was friendly, not pushy, and a little haphazard -- we had several different servers stop by at various times. It might not be for everyone, but we liked the casual, laid back atmosphere.
