Set amid the coastal Chugach Mountains, Anchorage defies popular visions of polar ice caps and frozen tundra. It’s also warmer than you think (averaging 65 degrees in summer), making conditions ideal for sight-seeing or taking on uniquely Alaskan opportunities like arctic biking or touring the fjords of Prince William Sound. In the winter, you can ski, dogsled or do both simultaneously by "skijoring," which is cross-country skiing while being towed by a dog. Hey, it's no crazier a winter sport than the biathlon.

Moose's Tooth isn't just a popular place to eat in Anchorage; it's like a CULT-LEVEL STATUS establishment. People FLOCK there in huge numbers to eat their artisan pizzas and quaff their house-made beers and ales. On an average night, there's a bit of a wait...but on a peak night, you're waiting 30-60 minutes minimum to get a table. I've lived in Alaska for almost 2 decades, but I still don't understand why Moose's Tooth is that popular.
To be fair, I'm not a beer drinker, so that automatically rules out half of their appeal. Their pizzas are decent, but nothing to get overly excited about. They have a small selection of appetizers, salads, soups and sandwiches that are good, but not cult-level. Their food isn't bad, but it's no better or worse than most of the restaurants in Anchorage. Their service is usually decent, except when they are ridiculously busy...then it lacks, due to the servers being overloaded with tables. Again, why they are CULT LEVEL in their popularity stumps me. Their offerings are good, but average.
If you're crazy enough to wait 30+ minutes to eat here, then you must be a better person than I, since I just don't get the obsession Alaska has with Moose's Tooth. To each their own, I guess!

At Kincaid Grill, you will find the finest in food preparation and uncompromising service. Kincaid Grill is located in a quiet West Anchorage neighborhood which lends itself to its unique sense of personal touches. Kincaid Grill is well known for being one of the finest restaurants in the Anchorage area for its quality preparation of what we call Alaskan Regional cuisine. Combining simple flavors and concentrating on the ingredients at hand, we strive for the ultimate dining experience.
We lucked out a few weeks ago. Made reservations for our 54th anniversary at one of our favorites, if not our favorite, gourmet restaurant here in Anchorage, Chef Al's "Kincaid Grill".
We were fortunate in that I didn't realize they had just started their wine pairing dinners. They only have them during certain seasons and days of the week. I thought we were going to have to order a la carte off their menu. To our surprise, this menu was also included. Which we did. Super great memorable meal it was.

Myself and three friends were all in agreement that this place was the best place to eat in Girdwood,on walking in the place looks more like a nice cafe than a restaurant but don't let that fool you the food was amazing as was the beers, great service and a free shuttle bus to take you home right outside.

Four of us had dinner recently at Jens. Overall very good service.
Had the calamari and tuna appetizers. Both good, especially the calamari which was excellent.
For entrees, had the tuna, the salmon and the scallops. All very good with the salmon and scallops the standouts. All also very sizable.
For the fourth entree, one had the charcuterie appetizer. It was varied and very well done.
Good and diverse wine list.
Would return.

Haute Quarter Grill offers some really good food with choices for every type of eater. The dried aged beef appetizer was the only selection that felt short. We had excellent service from Sofia. We were ending our lovely dinner, about to pay our bill, when the female manager told us a party waiting was hungry & waiting for their table. We were told by another the party had arrived 15 minutes early & they we're waiting for another table. What the manager did was unbecoming for this type of restaurant. Especially because we were paying our $200 check & ready to leave .

This place is fun. They have a high quality standard with both their food and drinks. This place is popular so visiting during highly popular meal times can be a problem finding a seat, which is understandable because they have delicious treats to offer. Staff seems always happy to please. This place is attached to the Bears Tooth Theater and Pub in the center of the Speanard district of Anchorage. Food is fresh, Beer on tap is hand crafted. This is one of the better restaurants in town and definitely worth a visit.

This place has been around forever...not something a lot of Anchorage restaurants can say. It’s really a bar that serves food. Handful of small tables with bar stools. Loyal and long-term employees. Good service. Food is pretty good. The Eggs Benedict are popular. Reasonable prices. The right wing chalkboard messages and TVs tuned to Fox News are likely not everybody’s cup of tea.

I was here for a pharmaceutical dinner talk on a Tuesday evening at 6pm. This was very convenient because I was also staying in the Captain Cook's hotel and this restaurant was on the top floor. You can definitely tell that these dinner presentations were up their alley. The dinner went off seamlessly.
Ambiance: Very nice decor. Fantastic view of the inlet. I would consider it very classy. Nice bar area up front. I believe they have multiple private dining areas. We were seated in a corner area with beautiful views all around. There wasn't a door that separated us from the rest of the restaurant. But the noise level wasn't bad. This room could fit 8-10 people easily. Restrooms were very clean as expected.
Service: Fantastic all around. We had 1 server (who was also serving adjacent tables) and 1 bus boy that were both very attendant. I didn't catch the servers name but he was very informative and helpful with the menu. We didn't have a prix fixed menu due to having only 5 guests total. Water was constantly refilled. All of the AV equipment was set up when we got there and went off without a hitch. We even had a manager come in a check in on us. Food came out in a timely fashion. We didnt feel rushed at all. We were even given a few items complimentary of the restaurant (amuse bouche soup and chocolates)
Food: We started with the fried olives. I have never had anything like it before. It was filled with warmed goat cheese. Pretty darn good. I opted for the King crab legs. They come in 1lb and was pretty good. The finale was the banana foster. IT is prepared table side (quite a show) and was fantastic over ice cream. Probably one of the best I have ever had.
I think this is a fantastic restaurant and would return to try the other items.

You will know the moment you walk in that this is not your typical brew pub. The scent of the alder wood grill and wood fired oven, the energy of the sparking exhibition cooking line and the glow of the brewery delight your senses. The BrewHouse features rotisserie grilled meats, the freshest Alaskan seafood, wood fired pizza and award winning hand crafted ales. Our friendly, energetic wait staff also offer gluten free and vegetarian options. Join us for brunch on the weekend, and bring the whole family anytime. The BrewHouse is Anchorage’s downtown landmark restaurant-“Where Alaskans meet Alaskans”. We appreciate your feedback, please let us know how we performed. Thank you, we hope to see you soon.
Had lunch with a group and the menu is extensive and seems to be the place to eat.
They have a great atmosphere and quick and friendly service.
Sandwiches, steaks, burgers, salads, soups and daily specials are on the menu and with a large range of beers on tap. Prices are reasonable for the food.
Well worth a visit for a meal.
