The Stone City General Store Pub is located right along the banks of the Wapsipinicon River. With 2 levels of indoor and outdoor seating, there is something for everyone. Stop by for one of our award winning burgers or a refreshing Wapsirita.
Stopped on the way to Codfish Hollow. Stone City is beautiful. Very cool old limestone buildings. The General Store Pub building dates back to 1897, sits right on the river. The food was excellent. Serves pizza and burgers. Tenderloin was massive, thin, and breaded well. Pub also is a music venue. Really cool vibe. Awesome visit.

Featuring handcrafted wines and Chef-prepared gourmet entrees and desserts made with the freshest of ingredients, Daly Creek Winery & Bistro has been enticing travelers from across the country and around the world to this quaint little town.
Anamosa is a typical small Iowa town that also happens to have a couple of motorcycle attractions, which is what brought me here. I was more than pleasantly surprised to find Daly's Winery and Bistro (with the help of TripAdvisor). I sampled a couple of their wines and settled on the Cabernet Sauvignon to accompany my dinner. For dinner I had an inordinately large slice of spicy Tuscan meatloaf served on a bed of garlic-thyme mashed potatoes with fresh sautéed green beans. Despite the dinner being delicious, I was unable to finish the portion that was served. The waitstaff I encountered were personable and attentive and didn't mind filling me in on the history of the operation. If you come to Anamosa for motorcycles or anything else, Daly's would be an excellent choice for dinner.

What a lovely building this is...exposed brick walls, original tin ceiling. There are pictures of it as a grocery way back when. We just happened upon Tyler & Downing as we passed through Anamosa...so glad we did. We ordered the special, hot beef sandwich with real mashed potatoes and delicious gravy on homemade bread. The beef was prime rib, the chef told us when she came out of the kitchen to visit. These are not always on the menu. What a shame. That's what I would go back for. Besides the terrific food, we thought the service was wonderful. They let us go upstairs to look around, to see another bar and a party room.

This is a crazy, beautiful atmosphere. The food was excellent and the staff was friendly. I had the flat iron steak and it was amazing. My husband had the 'tedderloin' and it was huge and crazy good too. We talked with the owner and she was engaging and kind. We will definitely be back!

My extended family and I visited the National Motorcycle Museum and decided to have lunch at Scooters. We were not disappointed with our choice. A few of us had burgers... Plain, Mushroom and Swiss and some monster burger that had just about everything on it. All were outstanding. My brother had the most amazing tasting Pork Tenderloin sandwich. It was crispy, moist and flavorful... The Chili was really good. It was not spicy, so if you are looking for heat it might not be for you. I thought it was great on a warm afternoon. The decor was very automotive/bikerish. I liked it. If I'm back in the area I'll definitely eat there again.

They have great pizza there. They have a very small pizza oven though, so make sure if you go there on the weekend that you have plenty of time. They menu here is very limited to bar food and pizza. They don't have any sort of salads on the menu (even side salads). We had the cheese sticks as an appetizer and then the pizza. The pizza is some of the best around.

I have visited McOtto's frequently over the past 20 years and tried many different things on their menu. Always great! My personal favorites include: taco salad, American, Sliggy, and the Reuben. The service is nothing special and I think the food is a little over priced but it is delicious and I love to support local business. I definitely recommend visiting if you're in the area or driving by (it's right off Highway 151!).

This place had no TripAdvisor reviews but was recommended by motel we were staying at. Place was clean and had a Mexican atmosphere. Service was fast and food came in appropriate time. Food was hot and looked great. Was very flavorful and authentic Mexican food. Would eat there again when in area.

When I stepped into this place for the first time I thought it looked nice and clean. Not too old. My booth seat was comfy and warm. The buffet is a bit smaller than average but probably fine for most people. Not much for vegetarians so I went for the menu. Not too many options there either so I went for the tofu with vegetables. The food was there promptly and the large portion looked great. Sadly, the sauce was basically tasteless. And tofu MUST be fried for a minute before the vegetables are added or you end up with mushy tofu - like this was. So, mushy AND tasteless. I did not finish my food with is very rare for me at a Chinese place. On the up side, the bill, with my diet Pepsi, came to only $8.20. The service was good. I hesitate to condemn on the basis of one bad dish of food, so lets call this place average over all.

These are freshly baked daily and she takes orders. The items are the best around. Betty is very friendly and professional. Would recommend buying from her anytime you need pastries, cakes. You can't go wrong.
