A lovely evening spent celebrating my wife's birthday. Great ambiance, great views and, not least, great food. The front of house staff worked very hard to make it a lovely experience but there were too few of them which meant they were literally running between the kitchen and tables. Considering the quality of the food and wine I was pleasantly surprised at the cost.

We came here twice during our holiday, this place has a mix of regulars and tourists! Great home cooked food made to order, amazing burgers, pizza, tapas and salads home made, paella cooked by the owner (seafood or meat) by request (48 hours notice) but well worth asking for and booking and of course crepes also made to order which are gorgeous! Friendly staff and great value for money a place not to be missed!

The Can Roig is located a couple of miles or so on the coast road from Alcossebre and can be difficult to find - don't rely on Satnav!
The location is very pleasant in a nice patio area and with a very good menu, unsurprisingly mainly seafood based. Prices slightly higher than the norm but very good value.

Swiss food
On a rather cold December evening and yes it does hit zero degrees in Alcossebre, Benimar was a welcome retreat.
Onion soup (served it what seemed like a bottomless bowl!) warmed the cockles and then the 3 fillets (beef, pork & chicken) with a béarnaise sauce and the all important rosti filled me like a stuffed Turkey on Christmas day. Wine prices compare favourable with other places in Alcossebre (18 euros for a really good bottle).
Service is excellent, and always nice to have a chat with the chef.
I will not be leaving it another decade before my next visit.

Taberna Pikapote was born in juny of 2010, when two restaurants of Valencia joined their cookings: basc and mediterranean. You will be able to have an apperitive or have lunch enjoying with a good rice (PAELLA or creamy), a cod fish, T-bone of red meat and a large starters menu with TAPAS. It is also nice the spanish' wines list. Ah! And also the G&T menu.
Emailed them two weeks before we arrived for our holiday, but no reply. So we went along on a Friday evening to book for our anniversary dinner. Although the website says they were not open on Sunday for dinner (The day of our anniversary) we we delighted to find that the waitress said they were open for dinner on the Sunday but it would have to be 8.15pm earliest. This suited us so we were booked in for the evening. However, on the night we turned up to a frosty reception from the manger. It turns out that they are not open on Sunday evening despite their staff telling us they were and accepting our booking. They did try to message us, but due to the poor mobile reception, the message only arrived after we arrived for dinner. The owners decided to stayed open for our party, and also benefited from custom from other diners.
Having eaten there several times on previous trips, the food was delicious and up to their usual high quality. The Tapas are particularly good as are the home made desserts. Good selection of regional wines are on offer too.
The management did warm to us during the evening, but we all left a little deflated due to the initial reception, especially as it was a special occasion for us.
I suggest you double check if booking in advance as they are only open for limited periods. We were grateful that they did stay open to honour their staff booking error, but perhaps Pikapote could also start to answer their emails and train their staff better too. Excellent food but marked down due to the initial reception which did put a cloud over our evening: 6/10

Compelled to write this review. We have been regular visitors for over 10 years but last night the Sirloin served was world class Cannot speak highly enough of this meat, the marbling and the chef's preparation

Pretty avaerage food , pretty avarage service. I've had a villa in town for many years and try this place at least once a year. It's always the same, get the owner and you get cheerful good service. Get anyone else and its poor. Tonight the grumpy woman served, she really should not be working front of house. Food was ok but there are far better places in town with better service and better prices. Didn't even get the free drink afterwards which is customary in the area. I will be advising my guests not to visit. A shame as it could be so good.

Been here a couple times over the years
Revisited 2 nights ago. Just as good as I remember
Definitely ask to sit on the patio upstairs it's so pretty with a nice atmosphere. The food is to die for. We ordered the hummus to start (really nice with Moroccan flavours) I ordered the scallops with prawn and asparagus which was delicious however I wasn't a fan of the cold salad centre compared with the hot meats but that's just me. We also had the goats cheese salad with bacon which was lovely and a big size.
The main was the star of the show 2 of us ordered the honeyed duck which is absolutely divine but the portion is just too small!
Our veggie friend ordered the margherita pizza which was a great size and tasted really good!
We were too stuffed for dessert (but would have definitely been hungry enough for another honeyed duck)
Can't wait for our next visit

When to Casa Isabel for lunch. We both had the set menu. I started with the paella and my husband had the mussel both were fantastic. I had the sole which was beautifully cooked and my husband had the tenderloin of pork for mains. We were staggered that the menu also included a sweet, drink and coffee all for 11 euros each. We are definitely returning to Casa Isabel's again.
