Usually the hole in the wall places are the best and this one did not disappoint. We had warned them of our large group and they were very prepared for our arrival. Plenty of delicious donuts for everyone to enjoy right then and take home for later. You must try their glazed donut holes drizzled with chocolate icing.

Dawn Marie was flying in to Knoxville the day after my wife's birthday and she wanted to take Laurie out a birthday dinner. She said that she wanted to go somewhere nice...and based on our previous experiences, Laurie chose Foothills Milling Company. Fortunately for me, I was allowed to come along…
Laurie started out with a lovely Goat Cheese Tart with caramelized onions, Benton’s bacon and a cornbread crust. ($12.00) She was a happy birthday girl! My appetizer was ‘the bomb’ in a good sense! It was a flavor avalanche! The HBC Sandwich consists of pecan wood smoked pork collar, Benton’s bacon and Amish cheddar cheese on sourdough toast, all topped with a fried local farm egg and warm jalapeno cream. ($13.00) This was the high point of my total meal! I could have eaten 2 or 3 of these and skipped the rest of the food…although it was all quite nice too.
For my entrée, I ordered the Cedar Planked Salmon. ($32.00) The Scottish salmon was marinated and roasted on a cedar plank and it was served with mashed Yukon gold potatoes and roasted asparagus. I don’t know what the marinade was, but this was an excellent and tasty slab of salmon!
Dawn Marie decided to have the Foothills Meatloaf as her entrée. ($29.00) This meatloaf is stuffed with braised short rib meat and it’s served with tomato chutney, truffle macaroni and cheese plus baby green beans. Of course, much of the time one’s opinion of an entrée is a matter of personal taste. Dawn didn’t really care for this meatloaf but she must be the exception because this is a perennial item on the Foothills Milling Company’s menu. They must sell a lot of it!
Our birthday girl chose the Surf and Turf for her special meal. ($37.00) Her medium rare Angus beef tenderloin steak came with a shrimp and crab topping and it was served with creole white wine cream, potatoes and baby green beans. The steak was very tender and flavorful... Laurie was very happy with her choice!
We all had dessert and all of them were decadent and over the top terrific. As I didn't pay the bill on this occasion, I don't know what the desserts were called. FYI, service was excellent and one of the owners even stopped by our table to check on us. In any case, there is no doubt that Foothills Milling Company continues as a first class greater Knoxville area dining destination!

We have been here a few times now and have tried a few different things and each time we have been disappointed.
Many things such as cheese moons and fried okra do not taste fresh but instead taste frozen.
The burgers are decent but not my favorite.
This place is so small the booths are hard to squeeze in 4 people.
We won’t be going back.

After about 10 visits these last 3-6 months I've noticed the staff is unable to serve the number of people that patronize VCH. They try but are hindered by some very basic management flaws.
1) Have menus with items, specials, ingredients and prices POSTED or available along the customers path. Currently, the only info of value is a few pages stabled together near the register. The person who takes the orders answers the many customer questions before the customer decides what they want. Then she takes the order and payment. For as tedious as the process seems, they hire people who don't let it show.
2) Label and price the items in view of the customer as they make their way to the register. Why make the customer have to ask what those delicious looking pastries are and how much they cost? Your clientele have the comprehension skills necessary to do this.
3) When the order comes, serve it with the necessary utensils. Customers should not have to request a folk for their slice of coffee cake, taking a random worker away from filling another's order.
4) Monitor the coffee dispensers and the sundry items available for the coffee. Having to inform someone (again working on another's order) that the coffee dispenser is empty, that sweeteners and/or stirrers need refilling shows a severe lack of attention to detail. The staff's attention is being distracted by customer needs resulting from these and other inefficiencies.
This as a management problem. Easily remedied by training, staffing and scheduling corrections. Then monitored for effectiveness and modification if necessary.
Personally I couldn't work in such chaos. I hope this gets fixed before I just write it off my "stop-list" for delay of game.

Texas Roadhouse is a steak restaurant providing legendary food with legendary service. Texas Roadhouse specializes in hand-cut steaks, fresh-baked bread, fall-off-the-bone-ribs, and made-from-scratch sides. We also serve ice cold beer and legendary margaritas. Treat your family and friends to a night at Texas Roadhouse.
We really enjoyed the early dining menu Monday through Thursday from 3 till 6. Also downloaded the app and received a free appetizer. The early Dine menu prices are $8.99 and you have about seven or eight things to choose from. Are usually get either the sirloin which comes with two sides as all early Dine menus do, or the Porkchop is fabulous.

THE BEST Cuban food in America! Or, at least, if I were a paid American foodie, that's my critique! Everything on the menu is authentic, and supurb! We like to place our order, TO GO, then run by 10 minutes later to pick it up. Every single time, our order is accurate. And that says a lot, considering we are there 3+ times a month! To Go orders allow us to enjoy SpringBrook Park, just down McArthur Road. Or pack it for Cades Cove. Super friendly staff, too! Suggest The Original Cuban sandwich p, with black beans, we like ordering double the beans. If you enjoy Cuban Food, GO HERE, it won't be your last visit. However, might not want to be competitive with their ever growing LUNCH RUSH ....pick an off afternoon time to eat, if dining in! And parking can be a bit touchy, so park across the street & walk over.

Located where a Sonic Drive In was located. Now you drive in & park, go in, and but some of the best donuts in town!
When we moved here a year ago from Texas, we gave up our beloved Shipley's to live by these beautiful Mountains, so I never thought we would find a donut worthy of being called our favorite again.
We have found that here at Donut Palace, they honestly taste just like Shipley's, so I am thinking they use potato flour to make them so light and fluffy!
The service here is always so nice and friendly too.
Best Donuts hands down in the area.
Their custard filling and creme filling is done fresh as you order so the donut doesn't get soggy and I love that!

Plenty of options to make a great sandwich. Ingredients are fresh and tasty. I made a Turkey with smoked cheddar. I'll be back again to satisfy my next sandwich crave.

We had dinner here with our family of 8. The service was excellent, the area where we were seated was private and very spacious. Everyone ordered different items that included: ribs, steak, shrimp, pulled pork and a few salad eaters. Food was good not great but service and privacy made it worth the trip.

We are a small bakery/cafe specializing in pies. We serve lunch items as well and have daily specials. Everything is homemade in house daily using local fresh ingredients.
We go to this restaurant quite a lot. It is always great , and the owners are awesome. I have never had anything that wasn't excellent. It is a great place to eat and enjoy our fine city. They have daily specials along with a lot of other choices. The desserts are some of the best ever.
