We wanted a quick meal in Albert Lea and decided on Mexican. We live in an area with wonderful, authentic Mexican and this was along those lines. It was very fast, the service was friendly and the food didn't disappoint. I had the Expresso Burrito and my husband had the Shrimp Cocktail with a street taco (al pastor). If we're through the area again, we'll probably try the fajita and new street tacos.

If you are looking for the Ultimate Ice Cream Experience, you have come to the right place. Create your Ice Cream Creation just the way you want it. The possibilities are endless. In Trail's Travel Center, Albert Lea, MN.
While the location is not the most convenient for locals, it is not a long commute from anywhere in town. This is located right off I35 in a large convenience store/restaurant/ bar. What is not to like about any Cold Stone mix of flavors? It is one of my favorite ice cream shops and beats any other ice cream store in town.

My sister and I ordered a California Breeze sandwich and split it. And man I wish I would have ordered my own! It was one of the freshest, tastiest sandwiches I've ever had! Staff was super calm and helpful! We will definitely be back!

Amazing breakfast. Everything was good from the over easy Eggs to the Pancakes to the Biscuits and Gravy. Expect to spend a little extra time here. Bring cash, as the do not accept Credit Cards.

From the menu to our genuine service, everything we do at Green Mill is focused on one thing - providing our guests the best restaurant experience possible. Our menu features legendary pizza and unique pastas as well as a wide selection of wings, entrees, burgers, sandwiches and appetizers. And our bars are bustling with great drink deals, sports viewing, games and relaxed conversation.
We stopped on our way to our hotel (Best Western Plus in Albert Lea.) We ate a late lunch at about 2 pm. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. We ordered the extreme supreme with the old world crust. It was excellent! They also served ice cold NA (non-alcoholic) beer. Great eating experience... even in the off hours! In fact, we were disappointed there was no Green Mill restaurant in Des Moines, on the next leg of our road trip. (See my upcoming review of The Machine Shed.)

Passing through Albert Lea and stopped at Jakes for pizza. Reviews were good so thought we would give it a try. My family of 6 arrived at 630pm and were seated right away. Pizza selection is great and service was also. While waiting for our pizza, we noticed there were so many people coming in for take-out. I knew right then we made the right decision to eat here. We ordered the Albert Lea (hamburger, onion and mushroom) and a half sausage/pepperoni. I thought the Albert Lee was fantastic. The kids loved theirs as well but I noticed their pizza had a soggy crust in the middle. I had read this on several reviews so it must happen frequently. All in all- very good pizza and service.
Would I eat here again- absolutely.

We were exhausted and hungry arriving at this local place a cousin suggested. We enjoyed 2 delicious tamales (my fave) ala carte, then I ordered molecajete? Outstanding dish that is enough for 2-3 peeps, and watch out for that giant pepper, man!! Super hot! The dish itself is not hot but aromatic and flavorful. He had the plaza fajitas. We could not finish either dish. Excellent!

The menu is limited, with creativity, which is what we appreciate.
Ambiance was very nice, service was attentive and we enjoyed both entrees, Salmon Pappardelle and Lobster and corn. both were tasty, neither were large, so for the first time in weeks, we were glad to be tempted for the Raspberry Cream Cake, which was very good.
As we ate, the tables filled up, mostly with locals who seemed to know each other.

We enjoy the buffet here. Its home style. Real mash potatoes, steak tenderloin or meatloaf, salad, buckets of ice cream, fried chicken, roasted chicken/turkey, is a great place to stop and rest and grab a bite to eat. They have everything. The wait staff in the Iron Skillet are very attentive and good people. Second time we have stopped here. Under $14 for buffet, does not include drink.
