La Nonna attempts to create an authentic Italian experience in Switzerland. When we visited it was busy with most tables filled which I suppose reflects local popularity. Looking around at other guest the seafood, paella, and fondues appear quite popular. Unfortunately the risotto de mare leaves a lot to be desired...runny, without the complexity of flavours throughout the dish. Oh well!

A packed restaurant on a quiet night tells you something. This place was packed, with most people eating the delicious cheese fondue. Washed down with good local wine form an interesting selection, this place is well recommended. Don's miss the interesting museum on the upper level after you have finished dinner, for a taste of local Leysin life through the ages.

We went there for our civil wedding and it was really a very good choice. We arrived a bit late, the service was quite slow. But otherwise, it was really good! Food is well on plates presented and it was really tasty. We asked them to prepare the menu but they didn't manage to do this. yeah, sorts of things which are a bit a shame but what is important is the food and that was good!

Looks like nothing special from the outside- a restaurant that you could easily miss. But the food- really truly Italian cuisine at affordable prices. A great variety of dishes to choose from i really struggled to make my choice. The pizzas looked amazing! But in the end i settled for home made tagliatelle with white truffle and foie gras (one of the house recommendations). Really fantastic presentation and amazing dish altogether. The wine from the region is also a must try!

An authentic no nonsense small restaurant on the slopes. Accessible for non skiers by the mountain train. Since some years the restaurant is well known for its excellent roesti. We drank local white wine as an aperitif, nice dry wine. We lunched on emincé de veau zurichoise, Geschnetzelttes, with roesti. Very good indeed. The roesti, an ample portion, is simply deliciously crispy. A glass of local red whine was good. Desserts were delicious, walnut cake and a very good meringue. Excellent coffee.
Service is efficient and very friendly. Prices are ok. Reservations are necessary. We will certainly be back.

Carefully presented, gorgeously sumptuous traditional Italian. Without a doubt, not just one of the best Italian restaurants in the World, Mantisi is one of the best. Charming, pleasant and professional service, with an open kitchen vibing a warm Italian family atmosphere - plus breathtaking views - a total experience. Reservation is a must.

Country restaurants in Switzland can be hit or miss. This one is certainly "Hit": Fresh, market cuisine with excellent meats from the in-house butchers.
The menu is fun. The "Liberté et Patrie" dish takes its name from the motto on the flag of the local Canton and consists of a great variety of local sausages, whilst the "Tartar Roestigraben" is a fun visualization (or should I say "gastronomyzation") of the supposed divide between the German and French speaking areas of the country...

We had dinner there in October 2013 and went back the other day. Could not complain...they are maintaining their high standards, the service is very friendly and Alexandre and Ana continue to take pride in what they have to offer.
Conveniently located in Aigle with parking available too outside the restaurant.

Amazing foood! I'm actually quite surprised to find such flavorful Chinese food in this cute small town. The quality is just as good as it would be in a larger city. My husband doesn't even like Chinese food but even he appreciated everything a lot. We got wanton soup which was served hot and with small pork dumplings. Also ordered chilly chicken , Cantonese fried rice and pork and cabbage dumplings and all of it was super delicious ! I really like that they serve the food on a hot pot type dish which keeps the food warm throughout . Servers are really nice and friendly. They also have wifi and clean restrooms . All of this made my experience well and I am sure I'll go again before we leave this city.

The Market Restaurant of Aigle welcomes you in a typical and good atmosphere, for a good meal or a party with friends. The restaurant is full of history and is a must in the Aigle city. You will discover the typical flavors of the region with a wide choice of meal: Swiss food, meat, fish, and Italian food. Have a good meal!
We had octopus dish and deer meat dish for a lunch. Both were very nice, especially the deer meat which was one of the best we've ever had, very soft, tender and with good flavor. Price was also reasonable and service was good. We were told there has been a change in chefs and staff recently. Definitely worth a try. Pleasantly surprised to find such a great restaurant in such a small town.
