Reserved for indulgent lunch and wss even better than hoped for. Chose to treat ourselves to 50€ menu which with the addition of the amuse bouche, potage and petit four with our coffee +amazing bread box and flavoured butter had to add up to a 6+ course palette ex travaganza of amazing flavour combinations. Lobster on hoummos, poelette stuffed with foir gras, beef perfectly cooked "blue" but piece de resistance the colour code desserts. I chose "vert" with combo of sweet avocado mousse, matcha tea sorbet and olives amongst other green refreshing items that taste magically sweet. Wine list is not overpriced. The salon is both comfy and cosy and wonderfully attentive team take huge pride in their products and extremely helpful in conversing in "franglais" (in knowledge their english was a lot better than my french but they let/helped me try). There is beautiful shaded Terrace which must be glorious...we were about 24hrs too early in current weather. Excellent 5* must visit if in Agen for a treat and no worse price than quite average London.

The Fish soup!....A Must Have....
The chefs special (you pay extra for this) and if you are English and are not familiar with French specialities, do not google the contents, just eat it , you'll love it!
Friendly efficient staff, one waiter serving about 30 covers, expertly!

Petit etablissement avec peu de table, situé dans le quartier historique de la ville, ambiance cosy. décoration alliant le bois et moderne.
When we knew the restaurant we had chosen was closed we were very disappointed. Luckily "le Margoton" was open and we had not regret of the other one. Nice decor, attentive service and stunning food for a reasonnable price... at lunch time. The bill can increase seriously at dinner. Very good experience.

Having been recommended to go to Nostradfamus by friends, I went for lunch with my partner and a friend. The restaurant is very spacious and comfortable, occupying what seems to have been an old farmhouse. Tables are set well apart, a log fire burns in the grate and the atmosphere is very relaxing. There is an outside Terrace for summer meals. Service by the charming waitress was efficient and friendly. We all chose the set lunch at 19€ which was preceeded by salmon rillettes and curried popcorn. We really enjoyed the the starter of salmon and asparagus tartlet, then the main course of cannon of lamb with cumin crust, finishing with a delicious chocolate dessert. We all agreed that the standard set by the chef was high for a relatively modest restaurant. With a bottle of Viognier, coffee and apéritifs the bill came to 33€ per person which we thought excellent value for money. We shall definitely return.

Choice and service alright.
Food plentiful, but lacks subtlety of good Japanese food.
Decor and ambiance more akin to cafe than restaurant.
Not cheap, so value marginal.
Agen has so many good French restaurants, one wonders: what's the point?! Maybe worth a visit if absolutely 'Frenched out', but suspect there will be better alternatives

Inspired by TA we went for lunch here in the picturesque old town, we didn't reserve but arrived at 12.20 and there were still a few tables left but it was full by 1pm; we were probably the only non-locals. This was Wednesday - some...MoreThanks for your advice, I hope to see you again in Bistrot Voltaire. Enjoy your trip

A delightful little teashop/restaurant in a pedestrianised area surrounded by chic boutiques. Fantastic range of teas and wonderful cakes. Also menu du jour. They also have a small shop across the street selling home-made icecream, cookies and teas. Great for ladies who want to lunch and indulge in forbidden pastries.

Cuisine française à l'ancienne . Produit frais de qualité . Pas de micro ondes ni de congélateur , une cuisine 100/100 maison.
French restaurant aren't all about haute cuisine. Try something different and go to this place. Don't let the interior fool you. The staff is friendly and the complementary bread and olive tapenade tastfull.
We had the €25 menu, which has a selection of starters, the choice of a main menu, and a selection of desserts. Sometimes we couldn't figure out what it exactly was we ate, but it's fun to try new foods.

We would have enjoyed the dinner here at Saturday, May 7th 2016 ,but we had no chance to do this!
We made a fix reservation over the telephone two month ago for this date (because we were in Agen for holiday), we were happy to come here (finding a parking lot is not easy) and THE RESTAURANT was CLOSED! That is very disappointing because of the reservation and the fact that nobody did inform us about the closure.

Had a lovely "formule" lunch in this pretty creperie. The owner, Pascal Cherbonnel, gave us a warm welcome and obligingly helped us move to tables to accommodate shower..... and then downpour! Fellow diners, Bretons, were very impressed with the authenticity of the menu, and we certainly enjoyed it. There's even Breton coca cola, as well as the obligatory cidre. Highly recommend!
