This is a must for anyone who loves quaint, authentic Irish pubs. Very busy with musicians playing various instruments at this time of year especially. You will be tapping your feet all night. A bit of a squeeze, but definitely worth it.

We are a traditional famaily run bar and restaurant, we are located in a very scenic location right above a beach, we offer home cooking to suit all pockets, we have live music at weekends, we also cater for coaches and parties please feel free to contact us.
Two cottages behind the hotel. Both 3 bedrooms with oil heating. Reasonably well equipped. Ensuited master bedroom, 1 other shower room plus 3 toilets. A little tired but comfortable. Very convenient to the pub, with a nice walk on the huge beach opposite. A good base to explore the rest of the island. Hope to return. Need to allow at least 4 days to explore Achill Island and worth every minute. The restaurant was closed during our stay but to all accounts from the locals well wort a vist

Open all year around serving local fresh produce and family friendly surroundings. Nice warm atmosphere with the personal touch. We off a free shuttle service to pick you up at your accommodation and leave you home free of charge up to a 4 mile radius. We have a nice selection of wines, whiskys and Gins and beers to wet your pallet. Why not drop in for a coffee a pint or good home cooked meal and home made dessert.. No strangers here only friends who have not met
Visited on a Saturday evening, and had the smoked salmon starter, which was very plentiful with wonderfully flavoured smoked salmon. Almost a meal in itself!
For the main course we had their "renown fish and chips, which were absolutely brilliant. Large portions of delicious fish cooked in their beer batter. I thought our local fish restaurant at home served the best fish and chips ever, but these easily surpassed those. Topped off with a pint of the local beer, what could be better!
Whilst the pub was very busy, the staff were attentive and friendly. An excellent evening out, at a very reasonable cost

We had a lovely meal. Delicious seafood restaurant. The monkfish was great with a lovely sauce.
It was a good size restaurant with plenty Seating.
The waitress was lovely, and very helpful, and was willing to have a chat and a laugh with customers at their tables,
Only gripe was that after we asked for, and got, the bill, we waited ages for them to take our money! Eventually we went to the counter and paid there.
Would go back though when next in Achill.

Family friendly restaurant with scenic views in the heart of village of Keel, Achill Island.
These folks provide all the essential dishes one could wish for from a casual diner but they also decent wine - pizza second only to that served by Pure Magic in Dugort. Happy staff, wide menu great scenery, frequently available at short notice. Possibly closed only closed on (sone/all?) Mondays.

A simple and authentique menu with French and Italian food inspiration.Home made pizza and fresh bread are the must try !In a chill out atmosphere, for friends and families, you'll enjoy listening or playing music after dinner beside the fireplace.
Great bohemian spot for people who love to chill out and relax with pizza and wine! Fantastic garden with hammocks and teepee's! Kids played for hours!!Thank you for your review, we look forward to seeing you again at Pure Magic. Kind regards Teresa

Got back for lunch on Friday ..delish fish pie and side salad....crab claws looked great. The place was packed again. It's got a great view and lovely friendly young waitresses. Really nice place to stop on trip around achill.

It is actually not called The Village Bakery any more, it is now Kate's Kitchen. The service was fast given by very pleasant staff.
There is a good variety of filling for sandwiches that are made to order at very reasonable prices. Good sized pot tea.
We would certainly recommend this cafe.

I stopped off here while visiting Achill Island in October and I feel like I have uncovered a little gem of a place.
It has the feel and atmosphere of coming home. The food and drink is amazing and I don’t think I have come across more able and friendly staff anywhere in all my travels.
I will be making the journey again to Achill Island for no other reason but to visit ‘The Beehive’.

We went there yesterday and it was great. we also met the loveliest waiter ever who was so friendly and polite but we unfortunately did not catch her name. I had a roast with chicken; there was plenty food on the half-portion with a very flavoured and juicy chicken along with fresh vegetables and gorgeous stuffing (you may want to order a side portion of stuffing though if you're as much of a fan as I am ). We all agreed that the roast potatoes were probably the best ones we've ever had ever! Restaurant and toilets were fairly clean and food arrived within 10 minutes of ordering.
