Box Hill Crabcakes is a family owned and operated restaurant in Abingdon, Maryland, and opened its doors in August 1984 with The Kanaras Brothers, Tom and Chris as the owners, along with their father George and mother Demetra who supported their sons as young entrepreneurs. With a strong commitment to customer service and satisfaction in a family-friendly environment, what once was a small eat-in, carry-out restaurant has expanded to a popular regional eatery with long-time, faithful customers who come in weekly to enjoy the "World Famous Crab Cakes," incredible Italian dishes, authentic Greek specialties and delicious hot and cold subs to name just a few of the menu favorites. Voted the area's best restaurant for crabcakes, give us a try and you too will be a satisfied customer who will be back for more! Thanks to the Internet you can now order our "World Famous Crab Cakes" securely online!
The correct name of this establishment is Box Hill Pizzeria, not Box Hill Crab Cakes, though I understand the confusion as they have a website with that name that caters to on-line crab cake orders. Why, because you will find no better crab cakes in Maryland - period!
First, Box Hill's crab cakes are all jumbo lump, Maryland Blue Crab meat and weigh in at 8 oz. each! There is very little filler - just enough to hold all of that delicious crab meat together. Box Hill ships their famous crab cakes all over the country and they make an excellent gift for anyone who enjoys crab cakes.
While the crab cakes may be the main attraction that keeps folks coming back year after year, Box Hill offers an excellent array of Italian, Greek and sub sandwiches too. There is adequate seating table service and a large parking lot.

CLOSED MONDAYS AND ALL OF JANUARY We are a small on-farm cafe that makes its own ice cream. We are known for our ice cream, our crab soup, and other assorted delights. We also sell locally produced meats, cheese, milk, yogurt, and eggs. Lots of outside seating when the weather is fit. 30 inside seats. We would love to see your happy face sometime.
Took my kids for a lunch out during their school break. Arrived after 2pm and the place was packed with the line just about our the door. Be sure to grab a menu on your way in - they are at the front door. Then look around for the daily specials. They are posted up behind the counter but in various locations. We all opted for an option including the macaroni and cheese. One was a combo of chili and mac - that was devoured very quickly. One was a combo of tomato crab soup with mac - again an excellent combination. The third was a straight up bowl of Mac and cheese accompanied by a mini quiche. My son did not love the quiche because of all the onion but it looked and smelled great. We are just not onion fans so we would try a different flavor next time. We also split a half ham salad sandwich - overflowing from a fabulous cornbread and with homemade pickles on the side. All 3 meals for about $30. Lastly we had some ice cream that comes along with the meal combinations. Please note a ‘very small’ ice cream is a generous serving. Especially after such filling lunch. The service is a bit slow and the dining room is crowded but it is all really friendly and makes you feel like you are eating at a large party. Definitely will return after their January holiday.

Came here by suggestion from a co worker that said they had excellent pizza. Saw that on mondays, pastas were 2 dollars off so decided on spaghetti with meat sauce. I was blown away by the flavor! I so wanted to finish the whole thing(granted its a pretty big portion)but refrained so I could take the rest for lunch the next. Definitely going to go back and try out the pizza! Two thumbs up to this place....

Sometimes you just want to have a donut. This is the place to go. The service at this location is always excellent, even when it is busy. The donuts are fresh and delicious. The breakfast sandwiches are good as well. The coffee is always hot and fresh.

Located in the heart of Bel Air on the corner of Main Street and Pennsylvania Avenue, you won't be able to miss us! Experience the sights of downtown Bel Air's revitalized Main Street while sitting at the windows of our store, all while enjoying a delicious panini and quality glass of wine. Life doesn't get much better than that!
My first time visiting this local restaurant, but won't be my last. Large servings for a decent price. I tried the cranberry chicken salad, but couldn't finish it! We sat outside on the little patio area.

My hubby and I have lived in Harford County all our lives. We hadn’t been to Giovanni’s since our dating days. Needless to say, it’s been a while since this time we visited with our 21 year old.
The setting is so classic Italian. They have the courtesy coat check at the front which is such a nice touch.
And the food! The calamari was tender and tasty. The scallops mornay was wonderful. And I could eat a bottle of the homemade house dressing. My son really enjoyed the cheese ravioli and meat sauce, while my husband went classic spaghetti. All delicious with generous servings; none of us could finish it all.
Service was good; a little spotty and she missed telling us the specials, which we had to overhear from the other tables. But otherwise she was pleasant.
Our son was happy we’d let him in on our secret Italian spot from years ago. We can’t wait to go back!!!!

.This was our second visit in our four day stay in the area. Decided to order take out and eat in our hotel room . Got s large cheese and a specialty salad with chick peas and feta. Plus a baklava, homemade by yaya( grandmother). Pizza was great with plenty of cheese and good sauce. Loved the salad. Nice combination of ingredients with good dressing. The baklava was very delicious gooey and scrumptious! Great place.
Family run business. Very friendly staff.
