Often compared to Venice due to its abundance of canals, Alappuzha is the gateway to the backwaters of Kerala. Rent a houseboat for an up-close view of the palm-lined waterways. In August, the snake-boat race is a remarkable festival—each traditional boat has a crew of over 100 local sailors.

We had a pleasant stay. The food was great. The service offered was awesome. A great place for a calm and serene stay. Of course, no bathroom is available on the first floor and the beds on the ground floor weren't very attractive. Spacious swimming pool for good swimming. The view of the backwater is just awesome.

Lake Canopy strategically located in Punnamada, Alappuzha, is the ideal destination for all types of commuters. It maintains exclusive 28 cottages/rooms with back water view and ensures hospitality with utmost care, comfort and luxury. The same has been categorized into 3 cottages with private swimming pool, 5 cottages with Jacuzzi and 20 premium rooms.
It is near the Lake with house boat and shikara running around. But the approach road is as if you are entering the village. Only 1 vehicle can pass. The property is too good to relax and offers massage as well. The big Private park is too good as then you will be able to see surroundings and relax

We had visited Alleppy in May 22 and stayed in this resort located on the bank of a beautiful backwater lake that's what it's name. Resort inside ambience, rooms, food quality everything was at its best. Just for nothing you can stay here for 2-3 days for a pure refreshment. Staffs are very polite, soft spoken and professional as well. I give 4.8 star out of 5. Overall a great experience exactly before wrap up of our Kerala tour...??

Alleppey, also named as ‘Venice of the East’ by the Viceroy of India Lord Curzon, is one of the oldest trading centers, bridging India’s ties with Greece and Rome during the Middle Ages. The culture of Alleppey has its soul defined in the ‘Sangam Era’ with art, literature, social and economic collaborations with Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Sri Lanka. It also draws its influence from the Dutch and Portuguese settlers of 12th Century, which established Christianity in the region. Sterling Lake Palace Alleppey Resort is centrally located in 14 acres of lush greenery and calm water bodies, parallel to the Vembanad lake. Built with a private lagoon surrounded by backwaters, the resort features 58 luxurious rooms and suites, overlooking the Vembanad Lake – the longest freshwater lake in India. The resort also boasts an Ayurvedic spa, water sports, exotic flavors of the coast and delectable global cuisines. Want to relax? Check out the incredible island swimming pool, and sip your favourite cocktail poolside, while taking in the beauty around you.
We been on a holiday trip to Sterling Lake Palace, Alleppey. Never expected to experience one of the best Ayurvedic Centre which professionally managed by Dr. Vishnu with increadible staffs. Subuthi Ayurvedic Centre and Spa at Lake Palace is the best we came across in any such setup, where you get Authentic Ayurvedic Treatments.

We are 2 families and have stayed in this property on 8th Apr in Heritage Rooms . I am forced to write this review just because of the Manager "Rajesh Phanikar's" behavior and attitude towards the guests. An arrogant and a high attitude person who is not approachable for any concerns at all and neither possesses any qualities of being a manager. While I raised about his unresponsiveness and don’t care attitude, he started screaming and shouting towards us (guests), and claims to have 18 years of experience and he doesn’t need any training from anybody. Moreover he is asking us to go check the reviews, such is his behavior towards the guests. I have many concerns to list here but all I am trying to do with this review is to bring this to the notice of the management as no one would expect such a gesture from a manager who claims to have 18 years of experience. I think Rajesh (Manager) is definitely a setback for this property and would doubt if he (Rajesh) has really learnt in his 18 years' experience that guests are to be treated with utmost respect in the hospitality industry.

The resort offer complete privacy and peaceful atmosphere and is free from air and sound pollution. The resort is really a wonderful paradise and an home far away from your home, of course with homely and tasty food.
Palmgrove Lake Resort is beside Punnamada kayal in Alappuzha. Guests can see houseboats moving up and down. Individual villas accommodate the guests. Trees of of different types are everywhere. Some villas face the lake. The rooms are sparsely furnished. Wardrobe was not part of the furniture in the room. Instead, two hangers were provided. The hot water supply in the bathroom dried up on our first day morning. They gave us a bucket of water after an anxious delay. Our request to change the room was turned down. The place is 7 km from Alappuzha railway station. The auto fare was ₹200. The resort will arrange for taxis on request. The restaurant has a limited menu. Guests should place orders one hour in advance. The complimentary breakfast included poori/bhaji, fried potatoes, idali with sambhar and chutney, bread butter, juice and coffee/tea. No eggs. The breakfast service begins at 08:30 am. Room service attracts an extra fee of 15%. We cut short our stay after the first night and moved elsewhere.

The location of the resort was breath-taking, sandwiched between the backwaters and paddy fields it provides amazing views. We drove down from Bangalore, after reaching the place all the tiredness just vanished into thin air, was full of energy. The staff at the resort were wonderful, special note for Jayant (chef) Rajan, Babu, Baby the boatmen. Kiran the manager of the resort hosted and ensured we had what we wanted dring our stay. I wish them all the best and continue the great work.
