Pros: The horseback rides were pretty fun, they take beautiful care of all the animals, daily activities are organized for you, you can feed animals and roam the farm freely, has "our farm is your farm" kind of feel to it. Cons: WAY OVERPRICED for what you get. For the price, you would think they would roll out the red carpet for you so to speak, as has been the case at other all-inclusive places we have been to. When we arrived, there was a very stale, boring feel to the place. We arrived a little before lunch so we went to the lodge to check in to our hotel. We weren't really greeted much except by the girl who checked us in. We went up to our rooms and they were very plain and old. We entered our room from the outside, in the back, and up two flights of stairs. Our bathroom was locked and unlockable so we had to actually go to the front desk since there's no phone to contact them in the room. So we got an allen wrench from the front desk to unlock it but it didn't work so we had to go back down again to get someone who eventually came up to unlock it for us. Then off to lunch. We were anticipating a nice lunch when we headed down to the dining room. However, things only got worse when THE FOOD WAS DISGUSTING! We assumed there might be brisket, pulled pork, steaks, beans, and typical and FRESH cowboy food, but this food was anything but all that. Our only choice of food was either a hot dog or a hamburger, with a couple different sides. The food tasted like food that has been sitting in a freezer for a few months and was taken out and heated up a little. The hamburger had a texture similar to that of a beef jerky and everything was cold. It had the smell of hospital food. So, not off to a great start! Worse, looking forward to the next 3 days of this kind of food was definitely a nightmare. In the center of the lodge was a table full of Books of Mormon and we aren't Mormon so it felt a little uncomfortable. We were way up in the mountains and not much around, but we did give in and drive 30 minutes up the road to a mom and pop restaurant one morning to pay for a nice fresh breakfast to start the day off right. I was having a hard time not gagging when eating the food at the ranch so plugging my nose while trying to just get full was not a real joy. Our assigned table in the dining area was on the outside edges and a full family who was there for a family reunion took up the whole inside of the dining room. For drinks, we chose between watered down apple juice, orange punch, or water, no soda, no alcohol, that was it. We got through it I guess. Our first activity was horse riding in the arena, followed by a trail ride. All the workers were in their teens and didn't seem particularly excited to work there. The enthusiasm just wasn't there. So after the arena and trail ride our schedule allowed for a couple hours rest before dinner...and saying I was looking forward to that dinner is like saying elephants can fly. There wasn't much to do after the trail ride so we just went and rested in our dusty, old, dilapidated room. Then, we went to dinner, no good again. Following dinner we had heard there might be some live music playing so we went out back to watch and that was lame. Little kids played on the swing set, about 4 people got up and sang a little, while my teenagers sat there with us in the hard metal chairs pretty bored. The only thing that was decent was the shaved ice you could buy at the little stand they opened up at the last minute. However, the shaved ice was FOR PURCHASE when with the amount of money we paid to be there, we shouldn't have had to pay. We even paid for some ice cream from the gift shop which was always closed unless you bugged someone to open it up for you. We saw that they actually had soda too but for purchase as well in the gift shop. The second and third day was a packed schedule with some fun in the arena again, a trail ride, some hiking, archery and many of the activities they offered. They were okay, but they scheduled long trail rides and arena time back to back, which was HOT at this time of year. We were in the direct sun for hours each day. The thing I looked forward to so much was some river rafting, but it wasn't even included when we went. I overheard someone saying they weren't doing it at the time, but I'm not sure why. The other thing is that if you want to swim, don't plan to do it here. The pond is muddy and mushy on the bottom, not a swim spot at all. A couple of old rusty paddle boats with cobwebs were standing by ready for use. If we wanted to play pool or any games we had to check out incomplete sets of equipment at the front desk and go play in an old, dusty, hot room in the back. My favorite activities were the archery, arena, trail rides, and the volleyball we played one night. However, our activities often started late and most of the employees were very unenthusiastic. I even got an "in our territory" kind of feeling from them often. We expected much better and if we could do it over we would book elsewhere. There are many dude ranches with comparable prices. There isn't much oversight or care taken in regards to customer service. It would have been a fair experience for half the price at most, but it was up close to about the same amount we have paid to go to an all-inclusive Caribbean vacation, and what you get at those places is indescribably amazing with yummy food, constant fun, and eveything included and unlimited for the price. Yes, it was expected for a dude ranch to be completely different from that but this was so much of a disappointment in so many ways. We would not recommend or return! Keep your money because once they have it they're not refunding it. We might have checked out a day or two early without that strict and written policy in place.

Whispering Oaks Ranch is a gorgeous 50-acre private property located in the La Sal Mountains, just 20 miles southeast of downtown Moab, Utah. We offer 7 comfortable and inspiring cabins each with their own unique amenities, charm and decor. At nearly 8,000 ft elevation the views of the Moab area and the La Sal Mountain peaks are second to none. We are an excellent location for a romantic getaway, a family reunion event, corporate retreat or destination wedding!
The property is great, but I would absolutely not recommend Whispering Oaks due to the management. We held our wedding here and spent hours tidying up the morning we left, only to review an email from the manager complaining that a mousetrap was out of place, a table, and other very minor things (trash bag sitting outside of the trash bin--we had placed it in the bin but it was extremely windy that day) which they charged an arbitrary rate of $250 for. Throughout the process they were not friendly to work with and had a lot of nitpicky rules. Would not recommend!

I found this lovely property when looking for accommodation in the world renown fishing area of the green river. As I couldn’t find it on any UK booking sites, I emailed the lodge directly and got a prompt response. It was really easy to book, we just had to pay a deposit to reserve the cabin. I’m so glad we chose this site; it was so peaceful and relaxing and just what we needed having done a lot of driving on our American road trip. We had an alpine cabin which was perfect for the two of us. We purchased breakfast and lunch items from a supermarket in Rock Springs on our way and ate in the resort restaurant in the evenings. We did the red canyon rim walk which we accessed directly from the lodge and the views of Flaming Gorge were amazing. All the staff were very helpful and friendly and made our stay even more enjoyable. As other reviewers have said, this was a real gem.

3 Dogs & a Moose Cottages provide charm, style and comfort both inside and out. Colorful welcoming tones and a blend of vintage and contemporary furnishings give our cottages warmth and personality. Enjoy the beautiful gardens, shade trees and patios for morning coffee or evening libations. Relax in the hammock or soak in the hot tub after exploring Arches and Canyonlands National Parks. Our downtown location couldn't be more convenient. Restaurants and shops are just a few blocks away. Ride your bike to Moab's famous Slickrock Trail. Walk to town for an enjoyable evening out, or better yet, stay in for a home-cooked meal.
First off, we are both in our late 60's so this is reflected in my rating. Our room was clean and ready when we got there. The houses are located on a dirt road that we missed on our first try but backtracked and found it. Not a big deal. It is only 2 blocks or so to the main drag and it's many restaurants, bars and shops. It was cramped for us but for some reason the shower was enormous, about half the size of the bedroom. There was a refrigerator and microwave in our room which was nice. We were the oldest people staying there by about 30 years. Tiny homes are the future. Just not OUR future. Recommended.

Located just 2 hours east of Park City and about 2 1/2 from Salt Lake City, Utah, you will find a sportsman’s paradise, Nick and Ann Stevenson’s L.C. Ranch. The Ranch, operated as a fly fishing lodge, elk hunting ranch and bed and breakfast, is spread across over 1300 acres of rolling juniper and pinion covered hills in the shadow of the Uinta Mountain range just outside of Altamont, Utah.
This is a great place to stay. I recommend it highly. The lady that runs the ranch is Ann. Nick, her husband will get you unstuck if you are as stupid as me. Yep, I got stuck. I stayed at what they call the West cabin. It is actually South East. You really need to see it to appreciate it. It has a cannon. Yes, I said cannon. Hot tub and the view is awesome. It sits on a small lake... I wanted to go row in the boat, but the lake was frozen. I highly recommend you visit this ranch.

Hoovers River Resort is nestled in the heart of central Utah in the Tushar mountain range at the top of the Sevier River Canyon. Hoovers River Resort is located on Trail 74, a part of the Paiute Trail System of over 2,000 miles of roads and trails to ride. We have 7 deluxe cabins and 7 riverfront RV Sites. We currently do not have a full restaurant but we do have a small deli and an amazing mercantile for snacks, gifts, and souvenirs.
We camped at Hoover’s for 2 nights. The staff were very friendly and kind. Our first night we ate at the Hoover’s cafe and had wonderful service. We were able to go for a ride up Bullion Canyon and down to Panguitch to visit the town there. It was nice to come back to a clean, quiet campground. Hope to return soon.

Pack Creek Ranch is a destination Ranch featuring individual rental cabins. Perfect for secluded get-away or family reunions. The ranch features a community pool, hot tub and spa. Each property has its own kitchen, barbecue grill and outdoor space.
As we ate lunch on Moab's main street, truck brakes squealing, diesel engines roaring, ATV's rolling along, we looked at each other and said "Thank God we are staying out at Pack Creek Ranch." A mere 20 minute drive from Arches NP and Moab, at the foot of the La Sal mountains, Pack Creek is a different world. We could hear an owl, a turtledove, the gurgling of Pack Creek, and the blessed sound of silence. The night skies out at Pack Creek are full of brilliant start. It's a great location if you are also heading into Canyonlands, Needles, and Hole in the Wall. The cabins are well kept up and well equipped. You'll want to book early; the best dates go fast.
