We had a great stay at Family House. It really felt like coming home to a family, so much warmth! So we stayed 10 nights. The bungalows provide enough privacy, a comfortable bed and the pool is great. Also they got really nice coffee and breakfast! 100% recommended!

Each with new gas hot water showers. With a choice of Television, refrigerator and air conditioning.
Our stay was great. The room was fantastic with lovely views. So peaceful. Less then a 5 min moped ride from the walking street. The staff were so nice and drove over to the immigration office to help with our TM30 forms even after we had checked out! Overall an amazing experience.

We stayed here for one night and absolutely loved it. Simple huts in the country with good access to Pai. The owner is lovely, really helpful and welcoming. The huts are basic but clean with a fan and power sockets. Shared shower and toilet but really peaceful and relaxing vibe, excellent budget accommodation. Would definitely stay again.

The pictures rarely match the reality when you book cheap accommodation. This is certainly the case here. The “romantic” setting in the mountains is quite close to a main highway where trucks and motorcycles hoon up and down all day. In the afternoon there is the added bonus of low flying aircrafts. But at night the highlight is the band and karaoke/open mic pulsating through the room from the restaurant next door. I agree with other reviewers that the staff is friendly and they apologised that the wifi wasn’t working when we asked about it. This was rectified by our second night. Breakfast at 100B was overpriced for Thailand, given that it was instant coffee and they had run out of eggs after feeding the other six people there. They did, however, rectify that and cooked up a nice plate of scrambled eggs with accompaniments. But it was at the lower end of breakfasts I’ve had around the world. The rooms are spacious but in need of some TLC. The bed was rock hard and clearly designed to promote the massage industry in town. There were ants and the bathroom was dark and dank. The shower gave either a gush of cold water or a trickle of hot. There was a kettle but no cups. It’s quite a walk to the centre of town and the walk back is up a steep hill past some fairly unfriendly dogs, as noted by other travellers. The D2 is cheap and is not the worst place I’ve stayed in. It could, though, be so much better with a little care - although I’m not sure what to do about the music next door other than join it.

Been traveling around in south east asia a lot. Last year 4 months and stayed there for almost a month. Lovely owners, they will help you with everything. Been there for 2 weeks this year and I will come back again. I got the cheaper "Bamboo" bungalow, very clean. Amazing view for sunset, like 3-4km outside of town. Just rent a bicycle or scooter and you will be fine. This is by far the best place in SEA.

Booked for 4 nights, ended up staying for 8 as we enjoyed the area. easy to find from the bus station, short walk across a bamboo bridge. Very simple rooms, originally booked the huts by the water but where told they were unavailable so was being given an upgrade to a room but we found it so warm with just a fan so ended up upgrading to an air conditioned room. We was given water bottles for the duration of our stay and the receptionist man was very polite even tho he spoke little english, you could tell he was happy to try. We did not see any other guests whilst we stayed here, and unless you was in your room there was nothing else to do inside the hotel, you had to go to the main street. Rooms were not cleaned or made up at all during our stay, i did have to empty our bins at one point as they was overflowing. Shower pressure was awful and barley came out, impossible to wash long hair in. We had a decent stay and the place did what was expected but in low season there are no activities/seating area/bbq facilities as advertised as no guests.

A lovely place to stay in the most scenic location just a 30 minute walk from the mai walking market which was great as you could feel at one with nature it was beautiful fields of rice, windy roads it was very picturesque! We stayed in a standard bungalow - It was basic but perfect in comparison to other places we stayed with a similar set up there was barely any creepy crawlies/ bugs around the occasional geko but considering the location i was socked by this. The bed sizable theres good storage space TV, soap, shampoo, ear buds, water and even a shower cap. The shower was good which was a pleasant surprise the pressure was great too i though it might be really hot without air-con but we actually found that it was a nice temperature and we didn't always need the fan- so don't be put off by this. You can watch the beautiful sunset from your room you have both a front and back balcony and there is some lovely restaurantsno more than a 10 minute walk away. Pai is best explored by motorbike as a lot of other people have mentioned its very hilly with large inclines you can find a rental for 100 baht shop around as the cheap bikes are convent but ours with two people on didn't have the power to make it up all the hills. Pai is a must visit for holiday or backpacking trip, it has a great feel to the place very hippyfied and theres so much to do all either free or a small fee. The resort is great very homely and the staff although there english isn't great they will always try to help It is scary walking from town when its dark and there is lots of stray dogs just bare that in mind we never had any issues but they can be scary. I personally think you need a bike if your staying here.
