Minniborgir is a cottage area that is located in one of the nature pearls of Iceland. We are located in the Golden Circle and only 40 km from Gullfoss and Geysir. We have 22 cottages all from being 30sqm to 100sqm cottages. We can take up to 110 persons in bed. At Minniborgir we have restaurant on site that offers local food and it is open all year a round.
Well equipped kitchen with oven, dishwasher and microwave. Each cottage has its own hot pot. Convenient location for golden triangle. Several hot springs in the area. Restaurant opens at 11 so have to organize own breakfast. Be aware the area has sand flies. We needed to leave the windows open while sleeping for ventilation and were bitten, despite applying insect repellent. Advise to put on bug spray thoroughly, especially before bed.

The Volcano Huts are located in Húsadalur Valley in the THórsmörk Nature Reserve in Iceland, right next to the Eyjafjallajökull Volcano & Glacier. The unique nature of the THórsmörk area make this an ideal place for hiking and nature exploring. We offer rustic mountain hut accommodation, local food, tours and activities for groups and individuals. Volcano Huts offer simple accommodation in small cottages, shared cabin-dorms, small private bedrooms and camping grounds. Our accommodations are quite rustic and in keeping with other mountain huts in Iceland but offer the option of small private cottages and rooms with made up beds. THórsmörk Nature Reserve, has one of Iceland's most dynamic and beautiful landscapes, where active volcanoes and towering glaciers rise above the lush valleys below. The THórsmörk area has endless hiking trails and is connected to the Landmannalaugar Nature Reserve via the Laugavegur hiking trail and Skógar via the Fimmvorduhals trail. The LavaGrill Restaurant & bar offers breakfast, lunch and dinner, snacks, homemade cakes and coffee. We can also send you off with a packed lunch to take with you on your hike. The bar offers a selection of local beers and other drinks. How to get here - IMPORTANT! Please note that you will have to take a special mountain bus to get here as you will have to cross big rivers on the way. You can take the bus all the way from Reykjavik or leave your car and hop onboard the bus at various stops along the way.
We backpacked the Laugavegur Trail and this was our terminus. We had stayed in the huts along the way which is more comfortable than tent camping as kitchens and cookware are available as well as sleeping mats. This particular venue provides three types of sleeping: your own tent (free), "glamping" tents or small dorm-style rooms with shared indoor toilets. A well stocked shop/restaurant with good food and some picnic items forms the base of the operation. There is a small sauna and a natural hot tub available. There are outdoor showers also. If you don't hike to the location you can get here by bus. There are amazing trails all around to hike or run. Overall, a beautiful slice of Iceland!

At Fossardalur we have offered sleeping bag accommodation with cooking facilities for 30 years and a campsite. We now offer made up rooms, though it's still possible to get sleepingbag accomodation upon request. The guesthouse is originally built 1921 and was the home of our family until 1978. The house is located 1,5 km from the main road (road no. 1) in a hidden valley between beautiful mountains. Great place to enjoy Icelandic nature in a quiet and peaceful environment. Perfect for hikers with endless possibilities and over 20 spectacular waterfalls to explore. The landscape is extraordinary. The valley is surrounded by mountains and offers hikes for any taste: from an easy walk along the river to demanding mountain tours. In the river Fossá (Waterfall-River), which runs throughout the valley, are over 20 waterfalls, each with its own fascinating features and absolutely worth a close look. From the farm runs a 4x4 trail into the valley, located close to the river.
Selfcatering accomodations, authentic, and good value for your money. Very friendly and accomodating staff. Nature pure and views across the East Fjords to remember. Fun 4x4 drive up the water fall valley with interesting site of an old turf ruin and geology intersted people get their fill too. Centred between many interesting locations and sites to visit along the East Fjords coast line.

Rauðsdalur Guesthouse is a member of the Icelandic Farm Holiday association. We offer accommodation all year round in 12 rooms with shared bathroom facilities. There are cooking facilities for guests and a traditional Icelandic breakfast for those who request. We offer accommodation in made-up beds and also sleeping bag accommodation. Our service is in category 1. according to the Farm Holiday Association. Our guesthouse is conveniently located for passengers of Baldur, the Breidafjord ferry, as we are only within a 5km driving distance from the ferry docks in Brjánslæk. Below our farm is a unique sandy beach which is perfect for late summer night walks. At Rauðsdalur there is also traditional farming, primarily with sheep and cows.Rauðsdalur is located by road 62, 50km from Patreksfjörður and 85km from Látrabjarg. Two swimming pools are nearby - 6km to Krossholt and 10km to Flókalundur. Both places also have natural hot pots
There is a well organized shared kitchen that makes this place a good choice for families catering by their own. But the room I had was not clean and the price is excessive. They don't provide any breakfast. Looks much more like a hostel than like a guesthouse.

The rooms are nice and quite average. You get a private bathroom which is nice. It is suitable for shorter periods of time. The people are nice. Would not recommend the breakfast “buffet”, limited options. Overall it was okay.

At Haenuvík we offer accommodations in 4 cottages with kitchenette and bathroom. Sunset view, white sand beach and vibrant bird life. In the gallery Gullhóll we offer home and locally handcrafted items and knitted socks, gloves and more. The Látrabjarg cliffs are only a short 26 kilometers away. Haenuvík is an sheep farm and the owners offer an beautiful location and a good an quiet stay.
Horrible reception wurst experience that we had there, don't come near Hænuvík. They rift us up fore 157.000 for nothing, and we didn't get anything back. If you are thinking of staying there then don't, they will find a way to kick you aut and take your money!!!

Located on a remote road and overlooking the water, the Sudur-Bar Guesthouse is a comfortable place to stay in this part of Iceland. We had a room with a private bath and found it to be everything we needed. The bed was comfortable (though the pillows were mushy.) The bathroom was modern. The breakfast was good. The host was friendly and gracious. The WiFi was solid. We enjoyed our stay and, returning to this part of Iceland at a later time, we would stay here again.
