Take a step back in time at the Gwili Steam Railway, a delightful preserved railway just outside Carmarthen in West Wales. Running steam train services every day of local school holidays and selected days throughout the remainder of the year, this is the perfect trip for all ages to enjoy. Experience a typical country branch line from the 1950s with a stop off at Llwyfan Cerrig Station in a beautiful spot alongside the River Gwili.
Took my children here today, what an amazing few hours. Both children and myself really enjoyed. My son loved the train. All the volunteers were so helpful and friendly. My daughter enjoyed the face painting and bouncy castle which were both reasonably priced. Displays on going in to see Santa were great. We had the choice of Santa speaking in Welsh or English. The gifts both my children received were age appropriate and of good quality unlike the last place we went. All children received free gift bags and adults a free mince pie ????. The day was well run and id like to thank the volunteers for making it extra special. Deffo worth it. I will be returning next year.

The Llanelli and Mynydd Mawr Railway is a charity (charity no. 1087985) based at the former Cynheidre Colliery site, 6 miles north of Llanelli and is a growing tourist attraction which is bringing regeneration to a former coal mining community. On open days the railway currently offers short diesel train rides, a heritage centre, a buffet car serving refreshments, lake with dipping platforms and several other small features. There is ample car parking on site. Please note that the site is only open to the public on specific dates.

Wrexham General station is the main station in the town. It is served by trains to Holyhead, Chester, Shrewsbury, London and Merseyside. Don't get confused with Wrexham Central! The station is well maintained and was clean and tidy. The staff I met were all friendly and professional.

I started coming to Abersoch in 1957-now 62 years later the importance of this railway station has grown due to It’s links to the midlands and the south of England as well as the delightful journey around the coast to Aberdovey and beyond Even you can add the link to Portmadog home of two local train operators- the Welsh Highland railway and the Ffestiniog railway These different lines give rise to marvellous scenic journeys very distinctive to North Wales Pleasant staff add to the enjoyment Of course don’t forget Buffers before your train departs ....hot coffee / breakfasts and a large variety for food on the go Enjoy C
